Bertrand’ ElkY’ Grospellier Becomes Newest Addition to GGPoker’s Pro Team

GGPoker has made the headlines once again. Just days after announcing its partnership with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for the WSOP Super Circuit Online series in May, the fast-growing online poker site has now added yet another illustrious name to its expanding team of pros – Bertrand’ ElkY’ Grospellier (cover image)!

Grospellier will now be counted among other big-name ambassadors at GGPoker, including Daniel Negreanu, all-time money winner on the Global Poker Index Bryn Kenney, and Brazillian poker star Felipe Ramos.

“I am excited to join GGPoker, the most ambitious poker site,” Grospellier said. “With a clear focus on software and making poker fun again, there has never been a better place to play online poker.”

Grospellier joins GGPoker after two years as a partypoker ambassador. Before that, he was a member of Team PokerStars for nearly 12 years.

With an astounding $14,664,517 in live tournament winnings, Grospellier is also the proud winner of two WSOP gold bracelets. He had won his first bracelet in 2011 in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship for $331,639. His second bracelet came in 2019, in the €550 Colossus No-Limit Hold ’em, which he took down for €191,172.

Grospellier made the announcement that he was joining GGPoker on Twitter.

He received a warm welcome from his former PokerStars teammate, Negreanu.

This is the third addition that GGPoker has made to their team in the last six months. In November, they signed Negreanu as an ambassador, and in January, Ramos joined the team. Both were also former members of Team PokerStars. The trio joined Kenney, who has represented GGPoker since March 2018.

Talking about their latest addition, Head of GGPoker, Jean-Christophe Antoine said, “Team GGPoker continues to go from strength to strength, and having ElkY on board just amplifies this even more. With a poker and esports legend like ElkY representing our brand, the GGPoker community will be in for a real treat – all I can recommend is to watch this space.”

Grospellier also shared his views on what he likes about the GGPoker client. “For example, you can squeeze your cards. Not just that, but you can squeeze the river card even though that’s not something you can do in live poker of course! That’s one of my favourite features. But my favourite feature by far is that you can stake players directly on the GGPoker client. You can sell pieces of yourself or buy pieces of your favourite players. That’s a really cool feature that is automatically integrated and I think it’s the best feature. You can also buy insurance to protect your hand from those nasty suckouts and bad beats. [The client] is the best and superior to any other software out there.”

Talking about his future with the company, Grospellier stated, “With GGPoker I’ll be playing a lot on the site and will be focusing on Twitch and interacting with fans, developing a channel and hosting a lot of hands and tournaments. I expect my career to go to the next level with GG being the biggest online poker site in the world and the great partnership we will have in the future.”
