Bill Klein, Jake Schindler, Matas Cimbolas & Sergio Aido Win Aria High Roller Titles

Even though live poker is pretty much out of the picture in India, the poker scene in the US has been steadily falling back in place. Last week, between May 5 to 8, the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, hosted four events as part of the ARIA High Roller Series. This tournament was part of the PokerGO Tour, with players earning points based on their winnings.

73-year-old businessman Bill Klein was the biggest winner over the weekend, banking $324K in Event #17:$25K NLHE.

The other player to bank a $300K+ score was Jake Schindler, who won Event #18 $25K NLHE for $310.5K.

Matas Cimbolas (Event #15 $10K NLHE for $163.2K) and Sergio Aido (Event #16 $10K NLHE for $159.8K) championed the $10K High Roller titles.

The first 14 events at the series were taken down by Dan Smith, Cary Katz, Chris Brewer, Ali Imsirovic, Sam Soverel, Barry Hutter, Darren Elias, Sean Winter, Nick Petrangelo, and Sean Perry.

Bill Klein Champions ARIA High Roller Event #17: $25K NLHE For $324,000

ARIA High Roller Series’s Friday showstopper, Event #17: $25K NLHE, saw a field of 36 entrants generating a prize pool of $900K.

The tourney culminated at 6:44 AM (PT), with 73-year old American businessman Bill Klein coming out on top. Klein defeated Seth Davies heads-up to take home a top prize worth $324K. Davies banked $216K for his runner-up finish. According to Klein`s Hendon Mob profile, he sits atop $4.84 Million in live tournament winnings.

The top six players received payouts, and these include Aria High Roller #13 & #14 champion Ali Imsirovic (3rd for $144K), Sean Winter (4th for $90K), GPI Player of the Year 2019 Alex Foxen (5th for $72K), and ARIA High Roller #18 champion Jake Schindler (6th for $54K).

Aaron Van Blarcum fell out on the money bubble in seventh place.

Jake Schindler Wins ARIA High Roller Event #18: $25K NLHE For $310,500

The week`s final event, the ARIA High Roller Event #18: $25K NLHE, garnered 27 entries, accumulating $675K in the prize pool. Only the top four places made it in the money.

Starting out at 2 PM (PT), it took a little less than twelve hours to crown a champion. The heads-up battle for the title was between Jake Schindler and Eric Worre. In the last hand of the tournament, Worre moved all-in on the flop , holding for a flush draw. Schindler made the call with for the top pair. The turn and gave Schindler trips, fending off Worre (runner-up for $189K) to win $310.5K.

Schindler had five cashes at the PokerGo Tour before this win. His lifetime winnings stand tall at $25.90 Million.

The FT featured the likes of GGPoker Ambassador & six-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu (3rd for $108K) and Johan Guilbert (4th for $67.5K).

Aria High Roller #3 champion Chris Brewer fell out on the money bubble.

Matas Cimbolas Ships ARIA High Roller Event #15: $10K NLHE For $163,200

The opening event at the weekend series, the ARIA High Roller Event #15, clocked in 51 challengers, who coughed up the $10,000 entry buy-in to create a $510K prize pool.

Matas Cimbolas was the last player standing and won $163.2K and the title after defeating Johan Guilbert (runner-up for $107.1K) in heads-up play.

Lithuania’s Cimbolas fell short of clinching back-to-back titles at the series with a runner-up finish in the ARIA High Roller #16 for $103.4K. He now has $4.39 Million in live tournament winnings.

Poker Masters Purple Jacket winner Ali Imsirovic (3rd for $71.4K), ARIA High Roller #16 6th place finisher Jack Hardcastle (4th for $51K), Andy Park (5th for $40.8K), Aria High Roller #5 champion Sam Soverel (6th for $30.6K), Kristina Holst (7th for $25.5K), and ARIA High Roller #18 champion Jake Schindler (8th for $20.4K) made ITM finishes.

Aria High Roller Event #12 champion Sean Perry fell out on the money bubble in ninth place.

Sergio Aido Wins ARIA High Roller Event #16: $10K NLHE For $159,800

The second event of the week, the ARIA High Roller Event #16: $10K NLHE, registered 47 entries to form a prize pool worth $470K. After twelve and a half hours of play, Spain`s Sergio Aido was the last player standing and bested the ARIA High Rollers Event #15 champion Matas Cimbolas (runner-up for $103.4K) heads-up to collect the winner`s payday worth $159.8K.

Aido’s live tournament winnings have touched $12.26 Million after this win.

Aria High Roller #10 champion Sean Winter (3rd for $70.5K), Dylan Linde (4th for $47K), Manig Loeser (5th for $37.6K), Aria High Roller #15 fourth-place finisher Jack Hardcastle (6th for $28.2K), and Justin Saliba (7th for $23.5K) made it in the money.

Sean Perry was eliminated on the money bubble, his second consecutive event missing out on a payday by one place.
