Final Table Recap

Short-stacked Peter Park and Frederick Conforti were the first two eliminations on the final table, going out in ninth and eighth place, respectively.

The next level witnessed the elimination of Charlie Dawson in seventh place with his getting dominated by Ryan Hohner’s .

Pavel Milanov was the next one to hit the rail when his lost the flip against Ryan Hohner’s . A ten on the flop resulted in Milanov’s exit in sixth place.

After that, Joo Park lost two hands in quick succession before falling out in fifth place. Park`s failed to get close to Brett Apter’s .

The next two eliminations happened one after another. First to go was Ryan Hohner when his attempt to steal the blinds backfired. He shoved all-in from the small blind with , but unfortunately for him, Partick Truong in the big blind woke up with pocket sixes.

On the next hand, Ryan Awwad joined Hohner to the rails. His ran into Brett Apter’s on the flop . Both the players held top pair, but Apter`s better kicker won him the pot.

Apter entered the heads-up with a 2:1 chip lead over Partick Truong but lost the advantage within just twenty minutes of play.

Explaining the situation, Apter later said, “It was brutal, I started with a 2:1 chip lead but lost every hand to start the match and saw it reversed really quick.

“The break was really key for me, I washed my face in the bathroom and told myself I wanted it more. I kind of drew in the mentality from my bracelet run where I was going to do anything to win because I want this more than anything right now,” he added.

After the break, the duo fought for over two hours with the chip lead exchanging hands more than a few times. Finally, Partick Truong missed his flush draw after Apter flopped a set of fours, that left the former with less than five big blinds. On the last hand of the tournament, Apter moved all-in with against Truong’s and held on to win the title!
