It was a thrilling Tuesday at the biggest-ever Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) series hosted on PokerStars. Playing under the moniker ‘blanconegro’, Connor Drinan created history by winning his fifth title at the ongoing series, besting the previous record of four titles set by Shaun Deeb!

The biggest of the three PLO Main Events, the $10,300 buy-in PLO 6-Max Main Event had registered 159 entries, taking the prize pool to $1.59 Million. Fresh from his win in Event #40-H: $5,200 PLO 6-Max, Drinan took the final table by storm and ultimately bested Jens ‘Jeans89’ Kyllonen en-route to capturing his fifth SCOOP title for $322,264. Not only did he make a new record, but he is also the third player to win six career SCOOP titles to date.

Joining Drinan on the podium was an equally celebrated poker pro Nicolas ‘niccc’ Chouity. A three-time EPT champion, Chouity triumphed over a field of 1,112 entries in Event #75-M: $1,050 PLO 6-Max Main Event $750K GTD to walk away with the top prize of $154,039.

Rounding out the three PLO Main Events was Event #75-L: $109 PLO 6-Max Main Event $400K GTD that drew in an impressive number of 6,126 entries, collecting $612,600 in the prize pool. Anonymous user ‘The_Truht’ was crowned the champion for $87,059.

Over the course of the day, Talal ‘raidalot’ Shakerchi (6th), Gavin ‘gavz101’ Cochrane (5th) and ‘Kukenmuser’ (4th) were also eliminated.

Down to three-handed play, Joao ‘Naza114’ Vieira`s dream run came to an end in third place just minutes before the fourth break of the day.

Jens ‘Jeans89’ Kyllonen entered the heads-up with a 3:1 chip lead against Connor ‘blanconegro’ Drinan. The heads-up lasted for nearly two hours, with the chip lead changing hands a few times.

In the end, Kyllonen’s was no match for Drinan’s which bettered to a five-high straight on the board . Drinan went on to claim his fifth SCOOP title at the series, overcoming Shaun ‘shaundeeb’ Deeb‘s single-series record of four titles!

The latter turned the tide in his favor after winning two doubles up and ultimately clinching the title.

On the final hand, ‘BomPang’ pitted his against Chouity’s . The runout did bring ‘BomPang’ top pair, but it wasn’t enought to beat Chouity’s cowboys.
