The Bay 101 Shooting Star $5,200 No-Limit Hold ’em Main Event came to a dramatic close owing to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The Main Event had played to the 10-handed final table on the penultimate day’s play. Owing to the increasing fear surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, all 10 survivors quickly agreed to an ICM chop even before the chop, wrapping up the tournament.

According to the deal, WSOP bracelet winner Craig Varnell, who was the chip leader at the start of the final day’s play, won the title and walked away with $159,710 in prize money. As per ICM numbers, GPI Female Player of the year Kristen Bicknell placed second and locked up $141,52.

Keeping up with the trend of an increasing number of Indian-origin players making deep runs in major tournaments, here again, we had two Indians on the final table. Relatively lesser-known names, Navin Mohan (3rd for $132,780 ~₹98.20 Lakhs) and Anshul Kulshrestha (5th for $101,430 ~₹75.01 Lakhs) both picked up their respective career-best scores in the Main Event. Mohan has a bunch of scores to his name, dating back to 2013 and boasts of two titles and multiple final table finishes. For Kulshrestha, this was his second live score to-date.
