The much-awaited IndiaPlays Bountuy Championship made a rousing start on Friday, with four bounty tournaments keeping the micro-stakes crowd engaged.

BalleBaazi CIO Puneet Dua wrote his name among the many first-time NPS gold medal winners discovered in the ongoing series by taking down Friday`s top attraction, PokerBaazi`s ₹1 Crore GTD NPS#56 HighRoller for ₹12.70 Lakhs (the day`s single-largest score). He finished #2 on the Friday charts with ₹13.29 Lakhs in total winnings. The #BB2 MoneyMaker winner Sahil Nair scored his first silver medal and ₹8.08 Lakhs, while ‘FireonNuts’ bagged the bronze medal and ₹6.52 Lakhs.

Abhimanyu Mittal emerged as the Friday showstopper, accumulating a whopping ₹13.55 Lakhs from deep runs in six of the eight NPS tournaments playing down to a winner yesterday. The highlight of his session was his top finish in PokerBaazi`s NPS#55 Friday Force for ₹7.74 Lakhs, which landed him his first NPS gold medal. The winningest player of the year, Ashish Munot, grabbed the silver medal and a better ₹8.89 Lakhs in second place, courtesy of a heads-up deal.

PokerBaazi user ‘Blackdragon’ hit the jackpot in NPS#54 Value Mine, taking down a monstrous field to collect a personal-best ₹6.04 Lakhs and the shiny gold medal. Arindam Sengupta had to settle for the silver medal and ₹4.09 Lakhs in second place (won ₹5.67 Lakhs overall).

Poker streamer Harsh Dev Jhirmiria (Won NPS#53 Slamdunk for ₹2.51 Lakhs), NPS#32 Monday Medley winner Advait Rajguru (Won NPS#58 Marathon for ₹2.49 Lakhs), Ankit Jajodia (Won NPS#52 (PLO-5) Slam Dunk for ₹1.88 Lakhs), and ‘Winer28’ (Won NPS#51 Run-Up for ₹93,840) won the other NPS gold medals on Friday.

Saransh Garg came out of a six-week-long title slump by championing Spartan Poker’s Friday showstopper, ITM #98 Friday Supersonic, for ₹6.20 Lakhs (won ₹8.53 Lakhs overall). He struck a three-way deal with last night’s NPS#58 Marathon champion Advait Rajguru (2nd for ₹5.60 Lakhs) and Adithya NG (3rd for ₹5.45 Lakhs).

Wednesday’s ITM #79 Hyper champion Hemant Meena kept his hot run going by shipping Spartan Poker’s ITM #99 Triple Chance DST for ₹1.69 Lakhs (won ₹1.90 Lakhs overall). He struck a heads-up deal with the multi-talented Siddhanth Kapoor (2nd for ₹1.42 Lakhs) (won ₹1.49 Lakhs overall).

Young Gun Ujjwal Narwal returned to the spotlight after a long gap by shipping the biggest buy-in tournament yesterday, Adda52’s MHW Big Game, for ₹10.91 Lakhs. He chopped the ₹27,500 buy-in tournament three-way with last night`s Friday Bounty winner Areyann Gurbaxani (2nd for ₹9.91 Lakhs) and the #3 ranked player of the year, Young Gun Arsh Grover (3rd for ₹7.92 Lakhs).

Areyann ‘paisenikalbc’ Gurbaxani finished third on the Friday charts with a jaw-dropping ₹12.31 Lakhs in total winnings.

The #1 ranked player on the 2023 TLB leaderboard, Mohak Kapoor, impressed with a top finish in PokerStars India’s The Big Bash [8-Max] for ₹2.21 Lakhs (won ₹2.97 Lakhs overall). The recent Maverick winner Pradip Ghosh earned ₹1.22 Lakhs in second place.
