Once again, we’re heading to a climactic weekend with Spartan Poker`s The Millionaire drawing up entries for its fourth and final edition this month.

Friday night action saw several former The Millionaire champions making the headlines. The most prominent of them was the former Millionaire X5 champion

Abhishek Gubba, who won his first title of the year by shipping The Elite for a whopping ₹8.70 Lakhs.

The first-ever IOPC Mastermind champion and a former IOPC Millionaire Legends winner Aniket Waghmare came out on top in Adda52’s The Ballers win ₹7.11 Lakhs.

The first-ever Millionaire Lite champion Dhinesh Kumar shipped PokerBaazi’s The Weekly HighRoller for a personal-best (on PokerBaazi) ₹5.04 Lakhs.

Anirban D. Das, Yash Chitre & Karan Malhotra were the notable winners.

Spartan Poker`s weekend mainstay, the ₹5,500 entry buy-in ₹1 Crore The Millionaire, ran the second of its five starting flights on Friday. Starting at 7 PM, Day 1B registered a starting field of 350 runners that whittled down to 54 survivors by the time the play was halted. Ghanshyam ‘Tiger10’ Tripathi (195,906), Sriharsha ‘Sygrayem’ Doddapaneni (185,082) and Armaan ‘space ace’ Kochhar (163,917) bagged the top stacks.

The Friday night headliner, also the most massive guarantee tourney of the day, the ₹40 Lakhs The Elite, began proceedings at 9.30 PM and recorded 434 entries, working up a jaw-dropping ₹43.40 Lakhs prize pool. The former Millionaire X5 champion Abhishek ‘PoeticInjusticé’ Gubba conquered the event, padding his bankroll by ₹8.70 Lakhs after beating ‘sewadari’ (runner-up for ₹5.79 Lakhs) in the heads-up play.

Last night’s brought Abhishek Gubba his first title of the year, fetching him his third-best career finish. His last significant score – a 12th place finish in the ₹1 Crore GTD FTS#17 Highroller worth ₹2.03 Lakhs – dates back to March 11.

The ₹888 entry buy-in ₹10 Lakhs GTD Futuristic logged in a whopping 1,461 entries to work up a prize pool worth ₹11.69 Lakhs. Thursday’s Monster Stack runner-up finisher Anirban D’ pokernoob’ Das did one better this time as he took down the title for ₹2.15 Lakhs. Kapil ‘042-237-575-86’ Arora’ finished runner-up for ₹1.30 Lakhs.

Friday also marked the start of the OFC Fantasy Series. The ₹7 Lakhs GTD OFC Fantasy Series #3 was the featured tourney of the day and saw the user ‘Dev112410’ walk away as the champion with ₹1.32 Lakhs in prize money. Suresh ‘pokergambit’ Kolli (Won OFC Fantasy Series #2 ₹75K GTD for ₹18,135) and ‘MR. PRANK’ (Won OFC Fantasy Series #1 ₹30K GTD for ₹7,818) won the other OFC titles.

PokerStars India’s Friday extravaganza, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Uppercut, attracted 313 participants, generating a ₹6.26 Lakhs prize pool. The final three players shook hands on a deal that saw ‘KaBooM2330 clinching the title for ₹1.12 Lakhs, with Anmol ‘freak_weird0’ Agarwal (2nd for ₹61,258) and ‘flipper595’ (3rd for ₹68,102) banking the other top payouts.

PokerBaazi’s 8 PM Friday fixture, the ₹12 Lakhs GTD The Weekly HighRoller, logged in a total of 209 entries, and 24 places got a share from the hefty ₹20.90 Lakhs prize pool. Yet another Millionaire champion, the former Millionaire Lite winner Dhinesh ‘dhineshrocky007’ Kumar cruised all the way to the finish line to collect a personal best (on PokerBaazi) ₹5.04 Lakhs. Kumar had to fend off Young Gun Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood in the heads-up battle.

Dhinesh Kumar, who had championed the ₹45 Lakhs GTD SSS #40 Destiny for a career-best ₹11.67 Lakhs on May 6, now boasts ₹2.52 Crores in lifetime winnings.

The #3 ranked player of the year, Gaurav Sood, collected ₹3.53 Lakhs for his runner-up finish, boosting his annual winnings to ₹1.90 Crores to get within touching distance of PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh Pal Singh at #2.

As always, the ₹22.5 Lakhs GTD The Ballers dominated the Friday night action on Adda52. The event recorded an impressive 419 entries, collecting ₹28.70 Lakhs in the prize pool, almost 28% more than the advertised guarantee. After eight hours of non-stop action, Aniket ‘anteman’ Waghmare was the last player standing and added ₹7.11 Lakhs in winnings. PokerGuru Ambassador Vishal ‘GigaaBet’ Bajaj placed runner-up for ₹4.30 Lakhs.

The first-ever IOPC Mastermind and IOPC Millionaire Legends champion, Aniket Waghmare, bagged his first flagship title of the year last night with The Ballers victory.

It took a little over nine hours for the former SSS The Millionaire X5 champion Abhishek ‘PoeticInjustice’ Gubba to navigate his way to the top and take home his third-best career finish worth ₹8.70 Lakhs. The user ‘sewadari’ finished runner-up for ₹5.79 Lakhs.

This is Abhishek Gubba`s first title victory of the year and his biggest one by far.
