As the year winds down, Indian poker players are turning up the heat both online and on the live tournament circuit! This week’s big story has been Team India’s incredible performance at the APT Phu Quoc 2024, where they’ve already racked up an insane 20 cash finishes, with 12 final table appearances and two awesome victories! And while there’s still plenty of action to come, with the recent APT High Roller – Double Stack champion Avneesh Munjal among the chip leaders in the Zodiac Classic and Deepankur Gupta making a deep run in the Main Event, the online felts were also buzzing on Thursday night!

PokerBaazi is keeping the party going strong! Fresh off a landmark partnership with the World Poker Tour and the exciting announcement of the ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online Series (December 8 to 22), they’re not letting the post-anniversary excitement fade, with The Summit making another scorching run last night. Meanwhile, Natural8 India is dishing out massive paydays to some of the biggest names in the game. And not to be outdone, Pocket52’s ₹2.50 Crores GTD Pocket Poker Championship and A23 Poker’s ₹1.50 Crores Dynamite Series are fueling the poker frenzy, setting the stage for an electrifying weekend!

But amidst all the Thursday madness, Natural8 India crusher ‘Shouryaanga‘ stole the show! Fresh off a victory in last week’s Zodiac Main Event, they jumped into the APT Double Stack 400 and finished fifth for a mind-blowing ₹15.70 Lakhs – their second-largest score on the platform!

‘DrNykterstein!’ was another Natural8 India star who made headlines. Just weeks after taking second place in the Zodiac Sunday Main Event, they repeated that impressive feat with another runner-up finish in the Zodiac Main Event for a massive ₹6.72 Lakhs – also their second-highest score on the platform.

While those two mystery players were crushing it on Natural8 India, Advait Rajguru was cleaning up on PokerBaazi. The poker prodigy and current POY #6, who was part of the Pocket52 PSL Season 6 champions Deccan Aces, ended his month-long title drought in style, taking down The Summit for ₹5.84 Lakhs after a three-way deal. With another deep run, he added over ₹6.06 Lakhs to his winnings for the day, crossing the ₹4 Crore mark in annual earnings.

Poker veteran Shravan Chhabria, who last won the IPM#115 Big Bounty (KO) 2.5 months ago, also had a great performance in The Summit, finishing second for ₹5.50 Lakhs and bringing his Thursday total to ₹5.70 Lakhs. Archit Khandelwal, last week’s Godfather podium finisher, took third place for ₹5.07 Lakhs after the deal – his third-best online score ever.

Mohit Mehta also returned to Natural8 India with a bang! After a runner-up finish in last month’s Bounty Hunters Deepstack Turbo 32, Mehta locked in third place in the Bounty Forty Stack 44, banking ₹5.31 Lakhs!

He cashed in three other events, bringing his total winnings for the day to almost ₹2.53 Lakhs. Following closely was Sunday’s PPC Pocket Kings champion Saransh Garg, who took second place for ₹1.65 Lakhs. With two other deep runs, Garg added over ₹1.98 Lakhs to his bankroll.

Over on Junglee Poker, Nikhil Ramesh showed his PLO skills by dominating the Thursday PLO 4 Highroller after a podium finish in this event last month, earning ₹3.04 Lakhs.

Sachin Raj continued his winning streak, clinching his second title of the month in PokerBaazi’s Daily Last Chance. Hot on the heels of his win in the WTF just last week, Raj bagged ₹1.82 Lakhs, with ₹1.89 Lakhs in total winnings from two deep runs. Interestingly, this 3.5-month title break seems to be a pattern for Rajpuria – a period of quiet dedication before a triumphant return. The last time this happened, he crushed PokerBaazi’s IPM#22 (5-Max) Hyper in August. Since then, he’s been steadily building momentum, making deep runs and biding his time. And now, bam! He kicked off November with a bang, grabbing his fifth title of the year.

Rajpuria faced a tough field of 239 players (423 total entries) in the 7:30 PM flagship event. For over six hours, he battled it out, navigating the ups and downs of tournament poker with finesse. After laying low in October, Yadav kicked off November with a second-place finish in the (6-Max) BSS SPRINT and a final table appearance in Adda52’s Sunday Big Slick. He carried his hot streak into the Summit Lite, finishing as the runner-up after firing four bullets. He definitely made that investment count, earning ₹1.64 Lakhs from the deal. Yadav also made a deep run in The Summit, pushing his total Thursday earnings to over ₹2.40 Lakhs.

But last night, he took things to a whole new level. He crushed the competition, taking down the 8 PM Thursday flagship in dominating fashion.

And Kothari didn’t just win; he dominated! The 8 PM headliner drew a tough crowd of 221 players (456 total entries), but Kothari played like he’d never left, fearlessly navigating the shark-infested waters to emerge as the champion after a gruelling 9.5-hour battle. This long-awaited victory earned him a well-deserved ₹4.53 Lakhs—smashing his previous best score of ₹3.37 Lakhs from the Nano Highroller in 2020—and significantly boosted his profits on the platform!

Karthik, who has been grinding on Adda52 for over six years, was also chasing his first title of the year. He battled hard but ultimately finished runner-up with a personal-best ₹3.32 Lakhs.
