The festive spirit is in the air. While the celebrations are a little muted this year because of the pandemic, it has been business as usual for poker players.
PokerGuru Ambassadors had yet another fantastic day on the virtual felts, with the team booking multiple deep runs between them, including a title victory!
Here’s a complete recap of the Wednesday action!
Spartan Poker
Offering the most-massive prize pool guarantee on Wednesday was Spartan Poker’s ₹25 Lakhs GTD Destiny. The Wednesday signature flagship logged in 475 entries, overlaying ₹1.25 Lakhs. Arjunn ‘Arjunn Ag’ Agrawal navigated his way to the top and scored ₹5.74 Lakhs for the win along with a seat in the Destiny 17.0 SnG Finale. Agrawal chopped the top prize with ‘Fifa21,’ who finished runner-up for ₹5.01 Lakhs.
This happens to be the second time Agrawal has won the Destiny. He had won the Destiny for the first time in May last year for ₹4.86 Lakhs. Last night`s win brought him his second-best online score, pushing his lifetime earnings to ₹75.07 Lakhs.
The ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD Mega Freeze logged in 79 hopefuls to register an overlay of ₹13,000. Starting at 9.30 PM, it took a little over five hours of play before Dhinesh ‘kendralust’ Kumar came out on top to win the ₹59,037 first-place cash prize. PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘deranzzdd’ Arya finished runner-up for ₹58,588, courtesy of a heads-up deal.
Even for Kumar, it was his second time winning the Mega Freeze title. He had won the event for ₹1.01 Lakhs on August 12. Kumar’s stats: Annual Earnings: ₹1.45+ Crores, Lifetime Earnings: ₹2.18+ Crores.
PokerStars India
PokerStars India once again had two ₹5 Lakhs GTD tourneys on the day`s roster. The Night on Stars, the featured tourney of the day, logged in 292 entrants to post an overlay of ₹35,428. One of the day’s standout winners, Utsav ‘rannyOO6’ Taneja, championed the tourney to win ₹90,999. He chopped the top prize with Ashit ‘Cringing’ Sharma (runner-up for ₹73,733).
Taneja had a breakout run last night, banking two titles and another final table score. He won PokerBaazi’s Wednesday MegaStack (second time this month) for ₹67,000 and placed seventh in Spartan Poker’s Destiny for ₹72,500, for cumulative earnings of over ₹2.3 Lakhs, pushing his lifetime tally to ₹1.5 Crores. All the ITM finishers in the Night on Stars collected TLB points for the “Star of the Month” – December leaderboard race.
The other marquee tourney of the day, the Big Bubble Rush, played out amid 172 runners, overlaying ₹70,000. It was 2:17 AM on Thursday by the time ‘tournament_007’ shipped the tourney to win a personal-best ₹1.15 Lakhs (₹54,731 in prize money, ₹60,371 in bounties). Mahesh ‘masteroffelts’ Shyamsundar placed runner-up for ₹52,758 (₹40,434 in prize money, ₹12,324 in bounties).
Adda52
Adda52’s staple Wednesday tourney, the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Maverick, clocked in 596 entries to post a sizable ₹1.44 Lakhs overlay deficit. Ranjeet ‘rj147’ Negi was the last player standing in the tourney and won ₹3.04 Lakhs for the outright victory. Saahib ‘saahib’ Bawa finished runner-up for ₹2.96 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal. This happens to be Negi’s best-recorded finish on Adda52, and it helped him cross the “₹1 Crore-mark” in annual winnings. Negi`s stats: Annual Earnings: ₹1.01+ Crores, Lifetime Earnings: ₹1.25+ Crores.
The ₹4 Lakhs GTD La Luna crushed its listed guarantee by a comfortable ₹87,000 after registering 297 entries. Ravindra ‘wormhole’ Arikeri took down the tourney for ₹1.16 Lakhs, with Saurabh ‘newkidintown’ Arora finishing runner-up for ₹83,392. The former Full House runner-up, Arikeri, currently sits on ₹82.05 Lakhs in recorded earnings on Adda52, with ₹22.18 Lakhs in net profits.
PokerBaazi
PokerBaazi`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Pride registered 276 entries, overlaying ₹34,000. PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh ‘holdbaby’ Chadha outlasted the competition to win ₹2.21 Lakhs, with mystery user ‘Royalflush84’ finishing runner-up for ₹1.55 Lakhs.
The former AOPS MINI ME champion, Chada, crossed another milestone with the win, entering the elite “₹6 Crore Club” last night. He currently boasts of lifetime winnings of ₹6.03 Crores (₹2.68 Crores in annual earnings).
The 9 PM Special ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD Wednesday MegaStack saw The Night on Stars champion Utsav ‘ranny006’ Taneja banking his second title for the night after topping a field of 119 entries to win ₹67,000. Siddharth ‘Siddonuts’ Pandey finished runner-up for ₹46,930.
PokerDangal
Wednesday saw PokerDangal running Day 1C of its ₹5 Lakhs GTD Glory. The tourney added 116 entries (84 unique and 32 re-entries) to its existing 171-strong (Day 1A- 90 and Day 1B – 81) base. Only 14 players bagged Day 2 stacks with ‘TheAceCrown’ (343,327), Prashant ‘kingslayer’ Jha (220,360), and ‘flashsurya’ (127,300) carrying forward the top three stacks of the day.
The Day 1B chip leader Dhruv ‘Gowani123’ Jain (479,246) holds the overall chip lead among the 28 survivors (Day 1A – 9, Day 1B – 5, and Day 1C – 14) so far. The last starting flight, Day 1D, starts at 2:30 PM today.

The flagship Wednesday tourney at Spartan Poker, the ₹25 Lakhs GTD Destiny, experienced an overlay of ₹1.25 Lakhs after 475 participants (225 unique entries, 102 re-entries, and 148 re-buys) signed-up for ₹5,500.
It took almost seven and a half hours of play for the starting field to whittle down to a champion, and the top 40 places got paid. Racing past the competition was Arjunn ‘Arjunn Ag’ Agrawal, who walked away with ₹5.74 Lakhs in prize money and his second Destiny title following a heads-up deal with ‘Fifa21’ (runner-up for ₹5.01 Lakhs).
