If the opening day of Spartan Poker’s India Online Poker Championship 14th Edition was a blockbuster one, the Day 2 turnouts were even better. With the PokerBaazi Classics running in tandem, Friday was a fantastic start to the weekend!
The first of five IOPC High Rollers, Spartan Poker’s ₹1 Crore GTD IOPC #14 High Roller, crowned a champion in IOPC crusher Aniket Waghmare! The first-ever IOPC MasterMind bagged away his sixth IOPC title, his third-best payout of ₹20.23 Lakhs, and the first of the six IOPC gold badges on offer in the series! He fired up another deep run in IOPC #13 Friday Prime (15th for ₹73,326), adding ₹20.96 Lakhs in Friday earnings.
Not to be outdone, December’s Legend Poker Series Main Event champion, Dhinesh Kumar, gave Waghmare a run for his money but eventually settled for a runner-up payday worth ₹20.07 Lakhs, courtesy of a heads-up deal. Kumar pocketed ₹20.57 Lakhs in Friday winnings.
Arvind Halaharvi came out on top in Spartan Poker’s IOPC #13 Friday Prime, winning the IOPC silver badge and the ₹11.76 Lakhs up top. Young Gun Arsh Grover missed out on the title, settling for a runner-up paycheque of ₹7.45 Lakhs (won ₹9.61 Lakhs overall), crossing ₹6 Crores in online profits!
Gopal Kumar Jha closed out his almost 21-month-long dry spell by shipping the IOPC #15 Friday Spotlight – Triple Chance, clinching his maiden IOPC title for a career-best ₹4.19 Lakhs and the IOPC silver badge. Areyann Gurbaxani came second for ₹2.36 Lakhs.
Ravinder Singh (Won IOPC #16 All Rounder – Deepstack for ₹2.25 Lakhs), Nandan Pugalia (Won IOPC #10 for ₹2.10 Lakhs), Rohan Kumar (Won IOPC #12 Deepstack for ₹1.89 Lakhs), Young Gun Karan Radia (Won IOPC #11 for ₹1.22 Lakhs), and ‘chips generator’ (Won IOPC #9 for ₹1.13 Lakhs) won the other IOPC titles on Friday.
Young Gun Sanat Mehrotra picked up his third title of the year in Adda52’s The Ballers, winning the Friday title for the second time and pocketing a winner’s paycheque worth ₹6.34 Lakhs. Saurabh Arora collected ₹3.84 Lakhs in second place.
The reigning Winter Series Main Event champion Ashish Munot emerged victorious in PokerBaazi’s PBC#15 Weekly HighRoller, walking away with his second title of the year and ₹6.13 Lakhs in prize money. He chopped the PokerBaazi Classics headliner heads-up with his good friend and former mentor, WSOP bracelet winner Kartik Ved (2nd for ₹6.08 Lakhs) (won ₹6.35 Lakhs overall).
Debneil Mukherjee was the last player standing in PokerStars India’s The Big Bash, taking home ₹2.40 Lakhs in first-place prize money. ‘theoldestkid’ (anonymity requested) collected the runner-up payday of ₹1.29 Lakhs.
