It was again a rather lackluster Monday on the heels of an explosive Sunday. The overlay floods from the day before seeped into the start-of-the week tourneys, with most of the marquee events enduring shortfalls. Let us tell you what went down on Monday!

Spartan Poker

The Monday staple tourney on Spartan Poker, the 12 Lakhs GTD Recharge, fell just one entry short of the guarantee with a turnout of 599 entries. Arun ‘arungeo95’ George claimed the title and top prize of 1.53 Lakhs. A deal was struck between the top four finishers that saw ‘Rup67tam’ (runner-up for 1.43 Lakhs), ‘Donkashtra’ (3rd for 1.43 Lakhs) and ‘speedhead’ (4th for 1.31 Lakhs) also secure podium finishes.

The site’s 6 Lakhs GTD The Flash fared slightly better. Gathering 624 entries, the event was able to surpass its advertised guarantee by 24,000. ‘adshark1’ topped the field and banked a 1.21 Lakhs winner’s payday. ‘wirepower’ came in second for 76,752.

Adda52

Headlining Adda52’s Monday schedule was the 20 Lakhs GTD AOPS Big Stack Turbo. With a 4,400 buy-in, the event pulled in 451 entries, but it wasn’t enough to meet the listed guarantee, resulting in an overlay of 1.96 Lakhs. Well-known reg Ankit ‘helter_skelter’ Kapoor shipped the event for 3.05 Lakhs, following a four-way deal with Alok ‘apb1989’ Birewar (runner-up for 2.95 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘vivek94540’ Singh (3rd for 2.73 lakhs), and Shravan ‘sweatmyass13’ Chhabria (4th for 2.57 Lakhs). Kapoor now has recorded online earnings of 32.38 Lakhs.

The 5 Lakhs GTD AOPS Table For 6 was the other marquee tourney that played out on Adda52 yesterday. The tourney logged in 267 entries, generating a 6.67 Lakhs prize pool. The 2019 IPC 100K High Roller champion Pranay ‘setmeup’ Chawla juggernaut to the top of the field and pocketed 1.74 Lakhs. Incidentally, he also finished runner-up in PokerStars India’s The Classic Monday for 53,113. He is presently ranked #37 on the monthly leaderboard with 18.73 Lakhs in winnings.

PokerBaazi

Anish ‘THENUTS’ Suri has been on quite the heater these past few weeks. He has been consistently final tabling the mid guaranteed events, like placing fourth in two PokerBaazi tourneys – PLO Boost Monster 1 Lakh GTD for 10,000 and the 6-Max Holdem BOOST DST 1 Lakh GTD for 9,390 on June 27. Suri placed third in Spartan Poker’s Destiny Junior 4 Lakhs GTD for 47,081 on June 26. He also took down Spartan Poker’s Big Daddy 8 Lakhs GTD on Sunday for 1.64 Lakhs. Last night, he added another hefty score to his bankroll after winning PokerBaazi’s 10 Lakhs GTD The Bout for 2.11 Lakhs. Suri currently has lifetime online cashes to the tune of 90.92 Lakhs.
