The weekend is approaching, and Thursday predictably saw all the top pros in action, all thanks to Spartan Poker`s IOPC #115 Mega High Roller.

With Spartan Poker’s biggest-ever India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) 14.0, PokerStars India’s brand-new Red Spade Series (RSS), and Pocket52’s FUNtastic February offerings running neck-to-neck, MTT players were spoilt for choice. Adding to the electrifying action will be PokerBaazi’s PLO-only MTT series – ₹5 Crores GTD PLO Championship, which starts today!

Grabbing the Thursday headlines was the former Young Gun and IPC High Roller champion Anmol Srivats, who won the biggest buy-in tournament ever at the IOPC, Spartan Poker’s ₹1 Crore GTD IOPC #115 Mega High Roller, for a jaw-dropping ₹53.35 Lakhs – the biggest payout at the ongoing series so far and the IOPC gold badge.

WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (2nd for ₹37.93 Lakhs) (won ₹38.19 Lakhs overall) and last week’s “#PokerGuru Star of the Week,” Ashish Munot (3rd for ₹24.83 Lakhs) (won ₹25 Lakhs overall) raked in hefty scores on the IOPC #115 Mega High Roller podium.

‘Craftplayer’ (4th for ₹18.78 Lakhs), ‘kunfupanda7’ (5th for ₹15.13 Lakhs), and Harshad Barve (6th for ₹11.83 Lakhs) were others banking seven-figure scores in IOPC MHR.

Two days after winning IOPC #100 Tuesday Spotlight, the in-form Aditya Singh bagged his second badge in Spartan Poker’s IOPC #114 Thursday Prime, winning his third tournament title on consecutive days for ₹8.71 Lakhs. He made at least three deep runs last night (including a 5th place finish in PokerStars India’s Red Spade Series-01 The Colosseum for ₹1.18 Lakhs), adding ₹10 Lakhs overall – and was the only player outside the Mega High Roller finalists to collect a seven-figure payday.

Nikhil Jain nailed Spartan Poker’s IOPC #116 Thursday Spotlight, picking up his second IOPC silver badge (his first this year) and ₹4.19 Lakhs in first-place prize money (his fourth-best score on the site). Joseph Rochungh Touthang collected ₹2.64 Lakhs in second place.

Pravin Jain (Won IOPC #117 All-Rounder for a career-best ₹1.57 Lakhs), IOPC #33 champion Amol Nakhwa (Won IOPC #113 Triple Chance for ₹1.64 Lakhs), Shrey Baj (Won IOPC #111 for ₹1.10 Lakhs), ‘HIGH FREQUENCY’ (Won IOPC #112 for ₹87,705), and ‘Prometheue’ (Won IOPC #110 for ₹87,262) won the other IOPC marquees on Thursday.

Long-time pro Sahil Mahboobani thrashed out four deep runs yesterday, netting ₹8.97 Lakhs – hitting ₹4 Crores in online profits. He most notably conquered PokerBaazi’s The Summit for an incredible sixth time for ₹4.48 Lakhs and finished runner-up in PokerBaazi’s (7-Max) SPRINT for ₹1.97 Lakhs.

The IOPC #106 Wednesday Prime champion from the day before, Sashank Chakravarthy kept his title-winning streak going, lapping up ₹6.47 Lakhs last night. He most prominently won Adda52`s Godfather for ₹4.98 Lakhs and finished runner-up in PokerBaazi’s Daily Value Boost for ₹1.38 Lakhs – both tournaments playing down to a heads-up deal.

Vaibhav Sharma is off to a firecracker start in PokerStars India’s inaugural Red Spade Series as he shipped the series-opener RSS-01 The Colosseum for ₹3.99 Lakhs (won ₹4.05 Lakhs overall). Last night`s Monster Turbo champion Ashit Sharma pocketed ₹2.95 Lakhs as the runner-up (won ₹4.43 Lakhs overall).

Clinton Tavares (Won RSS-2 Uppercut Mini for ₹68,546), ‘amar9031’ (Won RSS-4 Ultrasonic for ₹26,484), and Rahul Thakur (Won RSS-3 Bounty Adrenaline 6-Max for ₹17,716) won the other Red Spade Series marquees on Day 1 of the series.

Rajpal has pulled further ahead in the race and is almost a clear favorite to win ₹30 Lakhs (bonus money) for taking down the ₹1.50 Crores GTD IOPC 14.0 Leaderboard, barring a late rush by the IOPC June 2021 leaderboard topper Young Gun Anuj Yadav (14,849 points) or the #3 ranked ‘p@tience7744’ (14,093 points) over the weekend.
