PokerBaazi`s record-crushing NPS India 2023 is fast approaching its Sunday finale, and all eyes are on the two blockbuster weekend attractions, the NPS#106 Main Event and NPS#104 Golden Rush.

With a full crowd of regs busy playing the WPT Prime India tournaments in Goa, most online poker operators took the conservative route with guarantees. The strategy worked as most big-ticket tournaments avoided overlays.

The 2022 POY, Young Gun Anuj Yadav, couldn’t have asked for a better start to the weekend. The online phenom, in his trademark style, rode his final table chip lead to victory in the Friday showstopper, ₹1.25 Crores GTD NPS#92 Super HighRoller, clinching his first NPS gold medal of the series (his second overall) and ₹17.96 Lakhs in prize money (his single-best score of the year). He chopped the Super HighRoller title with the former IIOPC – The Crown Main Event runner-up finisher Kunal Bhatia (2nd for ₹18.53 Lakhs), who made a stunning comeback late in the tournament to win his first NPS silver medal and the day`s single-largest score.

Kartik Ved (3rd for ₹12.75 Lakhs) and Bharat Vasan (4th for ₹10.75 Lakhs) were others picking up seven-figure paychecks in NPS#92 Super HighRoller.

Young Guns were a dominating force yesterday, and Siddhanth Kripalani featured right up there among the Friday chartbusters. The IPC Megastacks Main Event champion nailed PokerBaazi’s NPS#93 (7-Max) Big SPRINT to win his first NPS gold medal and ₹4.29 Lakhs (won ₹4.49 Lakhs overall), busting an over four-month-long title drought.

Sunday`s NPS#62 Mini Main Event bronze medallist Tarush Gupta (2nd for ₹2.63 Lakhs), and last Friday`s NPS#56 HighRoller champion, Puneet Dua (3rd for ₹2.13 Lakhs) made the NPS#93 podium.

Armaan Kochhar (Won NPS#94 (5-Max) Hyper SPRINT for ₹1.59 Lakhs), Ravi Jain (Won NPS#89 Marathon for ₹1.66 Lakhs), Shreyansh Sharma (Won NPS#90 Megadive for ₹1.28 Lakhs), Yuvraj Bhardwaj (Won NPS#91 Deepdive for ₹81,857) won the other NPS gold medals on Friday.

Fresh off a Tuesday rampage, Young Gun Sanat Mehrotra pulled out another blinder of a run last night, winning Adda52’s The Ballers (₹5.01 Lakhs) and placing runner-up in Spartan Poker’s Futuristic – Triple Chance (₹1.42 Lakhs from three stacks) for ₹7.30 Lakhs in total winnings, crossing ₹4 Crores online profits.Spartan Poker user ‘KwiSatZ’ shipped The Elite (6-Max) for a site-best ₹4.18 Lakhs (their maiden title on the site). Ashwin Vijay satellited his way into the Friday headliner and collected ₹3.96 Lakhs as the runner-up (his second close finish this week), courtesy of a heads-up deal.

The former The MoneyMaker champion, Young Gun Anmol Mehta, dusted off a seven-week-long title jinx with a top finish in PokerStars India’s The Big Bash [6-Max PKO] for ₹1.04 Lakhs (₹54,469 in bounties) and added ₹3.04 Lakhs across five deep runs. Last week’s Bounty Builder HR winner Anmolraj Singh Chawla, bagged away ₹86,715 (₹36,969 in bounties) in second place.

Last night, the IndiaPlays Bounty Championship hosted its featured tournament, Texas Bounty. The 33-year-old full-time poker grinder Lave Kumar nailed the showstopper for ₹1.08 Lakhs (₹10,000 in bounties). ‘AyushRai’ finished runner-up for ₹77,500 (₹7,000 in bounties).
