It’s BACK! The 12th edition of the IOPC is up and running on Spartan Poker (and other partner sites). Thursday marked the onset of the 30 Crores GTD series’ 18-day-long run, with six players bagging IOPC titles. Given the guarantee-crushing turnouts yesterday, we might have another record-breaking series on our hands.

Some of the biggest guaranteed tournaments of the day were all from the IOPC stable, and the top draw was the IOPC #4 Thursday Prime. The lawyer-cum-poker reg Armaan Kochhar championed the event for ₹7.79 Lakhs, bagging his second career IOPC title. Not only was Kochhar Thursday`s biggest winner, but he also crossed the ₹6 Crore mark in online winnings. The July 2021 IOPC – The Crown champion Vaibhav Lang Syne’ Temani, who only recently recovered from COVID-19, fired a runner-up finish worth ₹4.85 Lakhs.

Adda52’s Godfather was taken down by site reg Vijendra Sharma, who won the Thursday flagship for the third time yesterday for ₹6.62 Lakhs. Vikk Sharma came second for ₹3.86 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi user ‘Srini2021’ climbed his way to the top of The Summit to win ₹5.42 Lakhs. PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘holdbaby’ Singh Chadha placed second for ₹3.79 Lakhs. The poker pro from Chandigarh, Chadha, made away with ₹6.83 Lakhs in cumulative winnings!

India’s first solo WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer flexed his way to ₹6.61 Lakhs in Thursday winnings, including third-place finishes in IOPC #4 Thursday Prime and Godfather!

Last week`s Winter Series #18 Highroller champion Aditya Singh came out on top in IOPC #5 Thursday Spotlight to win ₹4.85 Lakhs and his second IOPC title. In all, the poker reg added ₹5.32 Lakhs in Thursday winnings.

PokerHigh user Vaibhav Arora took down the IOPC #6: All Rounder for ₹2.96 Lakhs. Sooraj Todi settled for a runner-up finish worth ₹1.85 Lakhs.

Yash Chitre bagged the first title at the series after wading past a monster field in the series-opener IOPC #1 – Launch Party to collect ₹2.53 Lakhs. Actor, DJ, and poker player, Siddhanth Kapoor, fought a fiercely contested FT battle and eventually placed runner-up for ₹1.40 Lakhs.

Lavesh Meena won IOPC #3 Monster Stack for ₹2.17 Lakhs, and Tanmay Benara came second for ₹1.32 Lakhs.

The #2 ranked player of 2021, Manish Lakhotia, conquered IOPC #2 for ₹2.17 Lakhs and bagged his fourth career IOPC title following a heads-up deal with ‘Hyena_Killer’ (2nd for ₹1.84 Lakhs). The poker pro from Siliguri FT-ed IOPC #6 All Rounder as well, adding ₹3.46 Lakhs to his online tally that is fast approaching the ₹10 Crore mark!

Young Gun Devang Yadav made it across the finish line in PokerStars India`s Winter Series-63 Highroller to claim the ₹2.61 Lakhs up-top. Myron Pereira posted a runner-up finish worth ₹2.01 Lakhs.

The NPS Main Event champion Mohammad Azhar made away with over ₹3.33 Lakhs last night – earning over half of it, i.e., ₹1.69 Lakhs for taking down Adda52`s Monster Turbo.

Ashish Kumar shipped PokerStars India’s Winter Series-65 Big Bubble Rush for ₹1.14 Lakhs, with Harsh Bubna taking second place for ₹63,937.

Nishant Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Neeraj Sharma, Kunal Yadav, Pratik Doshi, Nitin Rawat, Prabhudas Sajeev, and Clinton Tavares were the other prominent title winners.

Spartan Poker

The 12th edition of the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) got off to a rousing start on Thursday, with all the six events that ran to culmination yesterday crushing their respective prize pool guarantees.

Topping the winner`s list was the circuit regular Armaan ‘space ace’ Kochhar, who topped the 1,017-entry field in the ₹35 Lakhs GTD IOPC #4 Thursday Prime to collect his second career IOPC title and a ₹7.79 Lakhs payday. The defending IOPC – The Crown champion Vaibhav ‘Lang Syne’ Temani (2nd for ₹4.85 Lakhs), and bracelet winner Abhinav ‘hightr0ller’ Iyer (3rd for ₹3.47 Lakhs) secured podium finishes in the IOPC Day 1 headliner. The ₹4,400 buy-in event generated a ₹40.68 Lakhs prize pool and paid out 87 places.

The lawyer-cum-poker pro, Armaan Kochhar, has been on a heater this week and only two days ago had won PokerStars India`s Winter Series-49 Bounty Builder HR. While winning a second title in three days is definitely a plus, Kochhar has other reasons to celebrate as he hit a new career milestone yesterday, crossing ₹6 Crores in online earnings. His trailblazing run makes him our third Super Achiever of 2022.

Last week`s Winter Series #18 Highroller champion Aditya ‘konstantinn’ Singh was the last player standing and won the title for ₹4.85 Lakhs, beating ‘TheBeard’ (2nd for ₹3.04 Lakhs) to the finish line.

Last night`s win happens to be Singh’s fourth six-figure finish this year, and he cashed another two events yesterday, filling in ₹5.32 Lakhs to his Thursday tally.

He played eight IOPC-branded events and found success in three of them, most notably winning the ₹12 Lakhs GTD IOPC #6: All Rounder for the lion’s share of the ₹15.40 Lakhs prize pool worth ₹2.96 Lakhs. Sooraj ‘GotNoChange31’ Todi came second out of a 770-player starting field, collecting ₹1.85 Lakhs in second place.

Even with a relatively modest ₹12 Lakhs prize pool guarantee, the series-opener IOPC #1 – Launch Party was one of the featured attractions of the day. Spartan Poker ran an extended Daily Final Table Offer that awarded the top three finishers of marquee events tickets to the event. All of that helped the ₹550 buy-in event rake in a massive 2,982-strong field, registering ₹14.91 Lakhs in the prize pool. Yash ‘Babyshark10’ Chitre cut his way across the vast field and overcame a chip deficit three-handed to win the title for ₹2.53 Lakhs. Bollywood actor, DJ, and poker player, Siddhanth ‘Liu Kang’ Kapoor took second place for ₹1.40 Lakhs.

Lavesh ‘devbhati’ Meena was another IOPC title winner yesterday. He outplayed a 1,454-player field in the ₹6.50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #3 Monster Stack to win ₹2.17 Lakhs, defeating Tanmay ‘PlusEv’ Benara (2nd for ₹1.32 Lakhs) heads-up.

The #2 ranked player of 2021, Manish ‘thekid’ Lakhotia, launched his IOPC campaign in style by topping the 855-player field in the ₹7.50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #2 for a ₹2.17 Lakhs payday and his fourth career IOPC title. He struck a heads-up deal with ‘Hyena_Killer’ (2nd for ₹1.84 Lakhs).

Manish Lakhotia ITM-ed an impressive six other events, collectively adding ₹3.46 Lakhs.

The first multi-flight event of the series, the ₹1.50 Crore GTD IOPC Blaze, kicked off yesterday. Day 1A of the ₹8,800 entry buy-in event clocked in 396 entries (218 unique, 46 re-entries, and 132 rebuys), and 64 players survived the day’s onslaught. PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja (230,937), ‘PsyDon’ (211,660), PokerGuru Ambassador Gokul ‘The Greak Freak’ Raj (201,602), Anurag ‘CultOfPersonality’ Srivastava (160,786), and Sriharsha ‘Sygrayem’ Doddapaneni (155,590) topped the day-end chip counts. The event has another five starting flights still to go.

The other multi-flight event, the ₹30 Lakhs GTD IOPC D’Lite, ran two starting flights. The ₹550 buy-in event registered a cumulative 1,368 entries across the two starting flights, with another six flights left to run.

Day 1A logged in 690 entries, and 61 players bagged for Day 2. Sahil ‘Captain Falcon’ Mahboobani (366,912), Sooraj ‘GotNoChange31’ Todi (277,924), and ‘anands1240’ (220,004) bagged the top three stacks.

Day 1B brought in an even better 678 participants. ‘Fletcher’ (292,424), Anuj ‘Anuj16101’ Laddhad (273,099), and ‘TheManager’ (239,799) topped the 59-player surviving field.

Manish Lakhotia has taken an early lead in the ginormous ₹1 Crore IOPC Leaderboard race with 1,870 points. The IOPC #1 Launch Party champion Yash Chire (1,602 points) and the IOPC #6 champion Vaibhav Arora (1,504 points) sit at #2 and #3 positions respectively.

After nearly eight hours of play, the user ‘Srini2021’ walked away with the title and ₹5.42 Lakhs in prize money. PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘holdbaby’ Singh Chadha finished runner-up for ₹3.79 Lakhs.

Young Gun Devang ‘trappyfish93’ Yadav was the last player standing and won ₹2.61 Lakhs, and Myron ‘khAAbib’ Pereira came second for ₹2.01 Lakhs.
