Thursday witnessed an abundance of action across stakes with Spartan Poker’s FMS, PokerBaazi’s Grinders Series, and Poker Dangal’s DVS offering players enough options. Let`s take a look at the highlights of the day.

Spartan Poker

The featured tourney on Spartan Poker`s Thursday schedule, the ₹22 Lakhs GTD Ultron, logged in 563 hopefuls to generate a prize pool worth ₹22.52 Lakhs. ‘ElegantlyWasted’ championed the tourney to win ₹4.36 Lakhs. The mystery player has on August 11 picked up a fifth-place score worth ₹1.09 Lakhs at the ₹20 Lakhs GTD Mega Stack. Last night, he rode past Bharat dorasingh’ Vasan (runner-up for ₹2.76 Lakhs) and Vishal ‘BlueWhale222’ Madan (3rd for ₹2 Lakhs) to win the title.

Day 1C of the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Velocity logged in 284 runners. Adding the 540 entries that had come in earlier, a total of 788 players have signed up already. Only 32 players could make it across to Day 2 with ‘iNi010’ (157,089), ‘Donndon’ (152,224), and ‘pankajc’ (118,347) carrying forward the top stacks. So far, 91 players have advanced to Day 2 with one starting flight left to play out.

The featured tourney on the opening day of the Freezeout Master Series (FMS), i.e., ₹4 Lakhs GTD FMS #4, saw Rishab ‘rishabjain1983’ Jain outlasting a field of 124 entries to win the ₹1 Lakh cash prize. Nirmal varonir’ Sankhla finished runner-up for ₹68,000. This was Jain`s second FT finish of the day, he had finished seventh in the Ultron for ₹73,415.

PokerBaazi

Shagun Jain scripted history last August when he trounced a gigantic 4,796-strong field to win PokerBaazi’s The Game Changer 2.0. He fell whiskers short of taking down the ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Summit last month, placing runner-up for ₹3.26 Lakhs. Just days before completing a year since his phenomenal GameChanger victory, the Jaipur-based Jain finally added The Summit title to his list of accomplishments. He outlasted 246 entries in the Thursday flagship tourney on PokerBaazi last night to win ₹4.71 Lakhs!

The event suffered a shortfall of ₹1.55 Lakhs, and Jain’s final opponent in the tourney was ‘md20’ (runner-up for ₹3.30 Lakhs).

Seasoned regs like former PPL MoneyMaker champion Romit ‘tilt83’ Advani (3rd for ₹2.12 Lakhs), Millionaire champion Dhinesh ‘dhineshrocky007’ Kumar (4th for ₹1.57 Lakhs), Abhishek ‘sharktops’ Jaiswal (5th for ₹1.18 Lakhs), Sagar ‘sagarpupul’ Choudhury (6th for ₹94,400), Young Gun Anmol ‘anzzzzz’ Mehta (7th for ₹78,400), PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh Pal ‘boomtlt23’ Singh (8th for ₹62,800) and Kanav ‘sokopa’ Parwal (9th for ₹47,000) FT-ed the tourney.

Sanish ‘Sanish21’ Chhabra was the other prominent winner on the site. He championed a field of 217 entries in the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Grinders #19 Thursday Monster to win ₹1.28 Lakhs.

Adda52

Adda52`s ₹1 Crore GTD Full House ran its first starting flight, Day 1A, yesterday. A total of 251 entries ponied up the ₹5,500 buy-in to enter, and only 26 survived the day’s onslaught. Carrying the chip lead on Day 1A was ‘Abhilasha212’ (323412), with Sahil ‘Bhaijiii’ Agarwal (315,523) and Avadh ‘cateyes’ Shah (272,230) rounding out the top three stacks of the day.

The biggest guaranteed tourney of the day was the ₹30 Lakhs GTD Godfather. The ₹5,500 buy-in tourney began proceedings at 8 PM, logging in 594 entries by the time the late registrations closed – falling ₹30,000 short of the guarantee. The final showdown for the title took place between two players in sublime form, Young Gun Arsh Grover and PokerGuru Ambassador Rohit ‘rohit22m’ Mishra. Eventually, Grover pushed Mishra to a runner-up position, claiming the title and a big ₹5.82 Lakhs payday after a heads-up deal.

Young Gun Arsh ‘BigggTymeR’ Grover has time and again proved that he is among the top MTT players in the country! Featuring among the top 5 winners this year, Grover had on August 9 finished third in the ₹50 Lakhs GTD The Hercules for ₹6.25 Lakhs. Last night, he ran deep in two tourneys; the other was his fourth-place finish in the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Highroller on PokerStars India for ₹1.23 Lakhs. He’s already racked up over ₹2.45 Crores in winnings this year, and is currently ranked #4 on the annual leaderboard!

Mishra collected a hefty ₹5.33 Lakhs in the Godfather for placing runner-up. The PokerGuru Ambassador did one better in the ₹6.5 Lakhs GTD Table For 6, where he traversed 213 entries, adding ₹1.11 Lakhs to his tally after reaching a 3-way deal with Himanshu ‘himanshu_s’ Sehgal (2nd for ₹1.03 Lakhs) and Siddharth ‘gabandheer’ Pandey (3rd for 84,462).

PokerStars India

Two big-ticket tourneys were running on PokerStars India last night, and the biggest draw of the day was the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Highroller. A total of 189 entries paid the ₹7,700 buy-in, resulting in an overlay of ₹1.77 Lakhs. An anonymous player, ‘Grindprix,’ came out on top to win ₹2.98 Lakhs after defeating ‘rauflala’ (2nd for ₹2.22 Lakhs) heads-up. Sandeep ‘SANDYINC.’ Rajora (3rd for ₹1.65 Lakhs), and the Godfather champion, Arsh ‘BiggggTymeR’ Grover (4th for ₹1.23 Lakhs), FT-ed the tourney.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale was championed by ‘drpokerabc,’ who won ₹1.08 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with Vishal ‘DeadGrinder1Madan (runner-up for ₹66,245). The event logged in 194 entries, falling six entries short of the guarantee.

Poker Dangal

The ₹45 Lakhs GTD Dangal Value Series (DVS) is fast gaining momentum, and the headline tourney on Thursday, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD DVS Main Event, logged in 320 entries, falling ₹20,000 short of its listed guarantee. ‘Pokershark’ came out on top to win the title and ₹1.10 Lakhs. ‘Prakash7639’ finished runner-up for ₹77,500.
