Friday night marked the start of the weekend, and the action was ‘crackalackin’ across all the major platforms. Tournament action on Adda52 finally resumed yesterday after a two-day break. Here`s a recap of all that transpired.

 

Spartan Poker

Spartan Poker`s Friday night special, ₹30 Lakhs GTD The Elite turned out to be a smashing hit as it logged in 404 entries to collect a guarantee-crushing ₹40.40 Lakhs prize pool. Walking away with the up top prize money of ₹8.10 Lakhs was an anonymous player ‘Pocket_king_K’ who beat ‘Boller’ (2nd for ₹5.38 Lakhs) in the heads-up play. This week’s Ultron runner-up, mystery crusher ‘Tiger10,’ came in third for ₹3.93 Lakhs.

The signature ₹10 Lakhs GTD TGIF had another successful outing last night after logging in 928 entries to form a prize pool kitty of ₹13.92 Lakhs. Anonymous user ‘nachu_kya’ took down the event for ₹2.66 Lakhs, after besting ‘Venkie’ (runner-up for ₹1.65 Lakhs) heads-up.

 

PokerBaazi

Over at PokerBaazi, the star attraction of the day was the third opening flight of the site’s flagship ₹2 Crores GTD Game Changer 3.0. Day 1C registered a starting field of 990 entries, and in the end, 108 players managed to make the cut for Day 2. Bagging the top stack at the end of the day was Aryan ‘aryanstark’ Chaudhary (479,000), who presently holds the overall chip leader status. Rounding out the top three stacks were Rajesh ‘intervntion’ Kumar Shukla (428,000) and PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘holdbaby’ Singh Chadha (423,000). The ₹5,500 buy-in tourney requires 4,000 entries to break-even on the ₹2 Crores guarantee, and with 3,053 entries across the first three starting flights, it looks well on track.

The ₹3 Lakhs GTD Friday SuperStack found a champion in ‘endboss11’ who defeated the first-ever Game Changer champion Prashanth ‘Iveyleague’ Sekar (runner-up for ₹67,381) heads-up. The tourney logged in 199 entries to collect 3.98 Lakhs in the prize pool and the top 24 places got paid.

 

Adda52

Tournament action was possibly at an all-time high at Adda52 that was running its biggest-ever online series, the ₹22 Crores GTD AOPS Special Edition. That was before technical issues decided to play party spoiler. The site was forced to suspend all tournaments for the last two days given these persisting technical issues. Finally, it came out with the announcement yesterday that the remaining 5 days of the AOPS are being rescheduled to July 8-12. For now, the site will be running its regular featured tourneys till July 7.

The featured tourney on Friday was the ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Ballers. The return of tournament action on the site was welcomed by players as a packed field of 436 entries created a smashing ₹29.86 Lakhs prize pool, and 49 places got paid. Topping them all was PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘glitch_d’ Arya, who earned his biggest score at the site to date worth ₹7.31 Lakhs after defeating online reg Siddhanth ‘Sidstack’ Kripalani (runner-up for ₹4.33 Lakhs) heads-up.

The ₹3 Lakhs GTD Hexagram registered 248 entries, and the top 27 finishers took a stab at the ₹4.96 Lakhs prize pool. Championing the tourney was MTT reg Vikram ‘vikram2323’ Mishra, who banked ₹1.15 Lakhs following a heads-up deal with ‘vroy219’ (runner-up for ₹96,421).

Shipping PokerStars India`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut Magic Edition was MTT beast Anant ‘Dr4gonW4rrior’ Purohit, who outplayed Abhijeet ‘sexylady7766’ Kumar (runner-up for ₹1.02 Lakhs) heads-up to take home the winner’s paycheck worth ₹2.27 Lakhs. This was Purohit’s fourth time winning the Uppercut title, and the phenom is fast approaching the benchmark ₹5 Crore-mark in online earnings! The event recorded 269 sign-ups to create a prize pool of ₹10.76 Lakhs, and 47 places got paid.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Friday Euphoria attracted 210 participants to collect ₹5.25 Lakhs in the prize pool. Philip ‘minisha_lamba’ Jude came out on top and earned a paycheck of ₹99,009 after beating Vishal ‘DeadGrinder1’ Madan (runner-up for ₹72,977) in the heads-up play.

Day 1C of the ₹2 Crores GTD Game Changer 3.0 saw 990 entries being registered. The mega tourney requires 4,000 entries to reach the break-even point. Till now 3,053 entries (Day 1A – 1,030 and Day 1B – 1,033) have been logged in across three starting flights. With one more starting flight, i.e., Day 1D left to unfold later today, it is likely that the tournament will meet its advertised guarantee.

Getting back to Day 1C, the third starting flight, that commenced at 8 PM last night, lasted for a little more than five hours. In the end, Aryan ‘aryanstark’ Chaudhary emerged with the most massive stack of 479,000 among the 108 Day 1C survivors.

Rajesh ‘intervntion’ Kumar Shukla (428,000) and PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘holdbaby’ Singh Chadha (423,000) were hot on Chaudhary’s heels, in second and third spots, respectively.

The ₹11,000 buy-in event began at 9.30 PM and ran nearly nine hours to conclude, eventually crowning a champion in SagarPocket_king_K’ Raj who defeated ‘Boller’ (runner-up for ₹5.38 Lakhs) heads-up to stake a claim on the title.

The player had last Sunday captured the ₹4.5 Lakhs GTD Reloaded on the site for ₹85,606. The player has, with his latest victory, added a sizeable ₹8.10 Lakhs to their bankroll.

After a two-day hiatus due to technological problems, Adda52 was again operational. The remaining events on the AOPS schedule have been re-allocated from July 8 – 12. Still, there were only two premium events hosted on the site.

The first of the two events was the Ballers that offered ₹20 Lakhs in prize pool guarantee. Sporting a ₹7,500 buy-in, the event pulled in 436 entries (213 unique and 223 re-entries), to generate a guarantee-crushing ₹29.87 Lakhs prize pool, almost 50% over the posted guarantee.

PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘glitch_d’ Arya, who was ranked #27 on the yearly leaderboard took down the tournament and a career-high ₹7.32 Lakhs first-place prize. The win also helped him to climb two rungs and reach the #25 spot on the leaderboard with more than ₹1.22 Crores worth of winning this year.

Arya defeated Siddhanth ‘Sidstack’ Kripalani in the heads up play, who took home ₹4.33 Lakhs as the runner-up prize.

With 47 places paid, ‘IAlwaysWIN007’ bubbled the tourney assuring the remaining players a ₹3,615 min-cash.

After just a little over seven hours of play, it was Anant ‘Dr4gonW4rrior’ Purohit, who climbed up to the #5 spot on the yearly leaderboard after shipping the event for ₹2.27 Lakhs (₹84,445 in prize money and ₹1,41,906 in bounties). This was his 4th time winning this tourney, taking his recorded online scorecard tally close to ₹5 Crores.

Purohit had to make it past a host of tough opponents on the FT to win the title. The top two finishers decided upon a deal heads-up that saw Vikram ‘vikram2323’ Mishra walk away with the title and the ₹1.16 Lakhs cash prize that came along with it. ‘vroy219’ finished runner-up for ₹96,421.
