Even though Mondays are generally one of the slowest days of the week, it turned out to be an exciting day for online MTT’s yesterday that saw some of the biggest names in the business rake in the big scores! Here’s a quick recap.

The biggest guarantee event on Spartan Poker yesterday, the ReCharge ₹12 Lakhs GTD, saw Umang ‘Umang94’ Kakarania juggernaut to the top of a 624-strong entry field that comprised of 281 unique runners, 82 re-entries and 261 re-buys. Kakarania banked the most significant portion of the ₹12.48 Lakhs prize pool worth ₹2.07 Lakhs, after agreeing to a heads-up chop with ‘wcr185’ who pocketed ₹1.90 Lakhs in second-place prize money. Former Young Gun and last week’s third-place finisher in the weekly online rankings, Sahil ‘$lim$hady19’ Chuttani placed third for ₹1.15 Lakhs.
The ₹6 Lakhs GTD Flash pulled in 601 participants (302 unique, 85 re-entries and 214 re-buys), enough to surpass its advertised guarantee by ₹1,000. Mystery user ‘notoriousB.I.G’ won the event for ₹85,150, following a three-way deal with ‘billubhai’ (runner-up for ₹73,549) and ‘EatingFish’ (3rd for ₹70,482).
The Ultimate Value Series (UVS) kicked off yesterday, and the marquee event on the schedule was the ₹5 Lakhs GTD UVS Destiny Jr. The tourney suffered an overlay of ₹89,000 through 274 entries (139 unique, 40 re-entries, and 95 re-buys). Pranav ‘mithrandir16’ Anand, who had finished runner-up in Spartan Poker’s GPS Big Daddy on Sunday for ₹1.42 Lakhs, took down the Destiny Jr title for ₹1.32 Lakhs, while Kunal ‘cvc’ Sharma came in second for ₹81,250.

Running alongside the UVS on Spartan Poker is the Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS). With a buy-in of ₹4,400, the AOPS BigStack Turbo ₹20 Lakhs GTD was the headliner tourney on Adda52 last night, and it brought in 508 contenders (287 unique and 221 re-entries), generating a ₹20.32 Lakhs prize pool. The heads-up was a battle between two of the most prominent names in the domestic circuit, PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja and MTT crusher Anant ‘pro_baba’ Purohit. Ahuja emerged victorious in the end and took home ₹3.87 Lakhs in the top prize. A heads-up deal between the duo saw Purohit pocket ₹3.84 Lakhs for his runner-up finish, along with a final table finish in Spartan Poker’s UVS Destiny Jr (9th for ₹10,500). At present, Purohit is placed fifth on the yearly leaderboard with ₹1.62 Crores in earnings, and Ahuja is right behind him, on the sixth spot, with ₹1.51 Crores in winnings.
The other flagship event on Adda52 was the ₹6 Lakhs GTD AOPS Table For 6. Ravindra ‘wormhole’ Arikeri toppled Vishnu ‘violator’ Khandelwal (runner-up for ₹1.29 Lakhs) heads-up to claim the title and top prize of ₹2.14 Lakhs. The tournament gathered 343 entries (178 unique and 165 re-entries), resulting in a guarantee-smashing ₹8.58 Lakhs prize pool.
PokerBaazi
The Monday bonanza on PokerBaazi, The Bout ₹10 Lakhs GTD, attracted 522 entries (257 unique and 265 re-entries), posting a commendable prize pool of ₹13.05 Lakhs. Prabhat ‘greatgatsby’ Paliya shipped the tourney for ₹2.54 Lakhs, and ‘VIRJAIN’ finished runner-up for ₹1.78 Lakhs. Paliya also picked up a final table score in PokerStars India’s The Classic Monday, placing eighth for ₹8,697.

Vaibhav ‘GTO_LIFE_GG’ Sharma was the showstopper on PokerStars India on Monday. The online phenom championed both the big-ticket events on offer on the site, netting cumulative winnings of ₹2.40 Lakhs. His biggest win of the night came in the Battle Royale ₹10 Lakhs GTD, where he bested Vishnu ‘violator2018’ Khandelwal (runner-up for ₹99,223) in the heads-up for ₹1.78 Lakhs. The site had to fill in a sizeable shortfall of ₹1.07 Lakhs, despite the event registering 357 entries (192 unique and 165 re-entries). This was Khandelwal’s second runner-up finish of the night, following his deep run in Adda52’s AOPS Table For 6.
Sharma added another ₹62,499 to his bankroll after he trounced the 136-entry field (83 unique and 53 re-entries) in The Classic Monday ₹3 Lakhs GTD. The event had an overlay of ₹28,000. With these latest wins, Sharma’s recorded online winnings are steadily nearing the ₹3 Crores mark.
There were a few other players who deserve a special mention for their spectacular runs. Former Young Gun Kanishka Samant had an eventful day on the virtual felts as he final tabled two of the biggest Monday events, namely PokerBaazi’s The Bout (3rd for ₹1.14 lakhs) and Spartan Poker’s ReCharge (6th for ₹56,409). Ankur Agarwal placed fifth in The Bout for ₹63,420 and third in PokerStars India’s The Classic Monday for ₹35,576. Meanwhile, Pratibh Saluja ran deep in Adda52’s AOPS Siesta (runner-up for ₹46,208) and AOPS AfterParty PLO (3rd for ₹33,264).

Monday marked the start of the Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS). The biggest guaranteed event of the day was the ₹20 Lakhs GTD AOPS BigStack Turbo that witnessed a packed field of 508 participants (287 unique and 221 re-entries), generating a prize pool worth ₹20.32 Lakhs.
Two circuit pros PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja and Anant ‘pro_baba’ Purohit, who have been in top form over the past few months, were neck and neck for the title. Eventually, a heads-up deal saw the former take down the title for a whopping ₹3.87 Lakhs top prize while the runner-up Purohit was felicitated with ₹3.84 Lakhs in prize money.
Ahuja ranks sixth on the yearly leaderboard with ₹1.51 Crores worth of cashes this year. The lawyer-turned poker pro has a whopping ₹4.61 Crores in overall cashes. On June 1, Ahuja had won PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack for ₹5.02 Lakhs.
Purohit, on the other hand, has over ₹1.62 Crores in online cashes this year, giving him the fifth spot in our yearly leaderboard. Three days ago, he had won PokerStars India’s Uppercut PKO 6-Max MAGIC Edition for ₹2.27 Lakhs.
