While Mondays are relatively slow-paced compared to Sundays, yesterday still saw some of the big names of the circuit participating in the flagship tourneys. Let us give you a quick recap of how things panned out.

 

Spartan Poker

On Monday nights, Spartan Poker hosts its weekly ReCharge tourney. Featuring a 12 Lakhs GTD, last night, the event wrangled in 563 entries, and the site had to fill in an overlay of 74,000. Rohin ‘silentkamina’ Bhansali emerged victorious after besting ‘PimpDaddyJiglo’ (runner-up for 1.48 Lakhs) in the heads-up play. The champion walked away with 2.33 Lakhs.

A player pool of 589 entries was accumulated in the 6 Lakhs GTD The Flash yesterday, leading to a shortfall of 11,000. Rising star Anuj ‘Anuj16101’ Laddhad championed the event for 1.16 Lakhs, outlasting PokerGuru Ambassador Naresh’ FreeFlow’ Veeravalli in the final showdown. Veeravalli pocketed 73,800 for his runner-up finish. Incidentally, Veeravalli also final tabled Adda52s AOPS Table For 6, finishing third for 65,455.

PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish’ rocky3705’ Ahuja has been in breakout form this year, and he booked back-to-back wins last night. After shipping Spartan Poker’s Sunday SuperStack for ₹7.40 Lakhs, Ahuja was back to the grind and claimed the title in Adda52’s 15 Lakhs GTD AOPS Inception. The Chandigarh-based pro ran past a field of 518 participants and banked the lions share of the guarantee-busting 16.57 Lakhs prize pool worth 3.97 Lakhs. Jitendra ‘zxcvuiop’ Chordia came in second for 2.32 Lakhs. Ahujas lifetime online cashes now stands tall at 4.8 Crores and is steadily inching towards the 5 Crore-mark.

The other marquee event on Adda52 was the 5 Lakhs GTD AOPS Table For 6. Registering 212 entries, the tourney just about managed to cross its listed guarantee and posted a prize pool of 5.30 Lakhs. Saahib’ saahib’ Bawa topped the field and took home 1.31 Lakhs in first-place prize money, after agreeing to a heads-up deal with royallyflushed’ (runner-up for 1.01 Lakhs).

 

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi’s 10 Lakhs GTD The Bout was the signature event on offer last night, and despite gathering 381 entries, the event fell 47,500 short of its advertised guarantee. For more than four months, Anurag Srivastava has maintained his spot in the top three of the yearly rankings. Playing under the moniker ‘13anurag’, the soft-spoken player championed The Bout and took home a cool 2.10 Lakhs in the top prize, after besting another veteran pro Sumit ‘boronyx’ Sapra (runner-up for 1.47 Lakhs) heads-up. Srivastava is currently ranked #2 in the yearly leaderboard, with 91.87 Lakhs in annual profits. The former Millionaire Main Event champion picked up two more final table scores in Spartan Poker’s ReCharge (9th for 24,000) and Adda52’s AOPS Afterparty PLO (4th for 21,250), respectively.

PokerStars India’s 9 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale saw 314 contenders battle it out for the top prize. The event incurred an overlay of 1.15 Lakhs, and taking advantage of the value on offer, Aayush’ House131313’ Choudhary championed the tourney for a 1.42 Lakhs payday.
