Even with all the buzz surrounding the live poker scene in Asia, with events like the recent USOP Hai Phong and the ongoing Manila Megastacks 19 drawing big crowds, the online poker action back home hasn’t missed a beat. Wednesday night was proof of that, with players hitting the virtual felts in droves, showing that the online grind never stops, even when major live tournaments like Poker Dream Jeju 12 and the APT Taipei Poker Classic are kicking off.

PokerBaazi and Natural8 India were once again the places to be on Wednesday, offering up some seriously juicy prizes. PokerBaazi, in particular, has everyone buzzing with their 10th Anniversary celebrations. The poker community is eagerly counting down the days until India’s biggest-ever tournament, the ₹25 Crores GTD G.O.A.T., kicks off on October 1. But even with that monster event looming, other platforms like Junglee Poker, Adda52, and Pocket52 kept the action going with their usual packed tournament schedules. And with overlays galore, players were getting even more bang for their buck!

The star of the night was undoubtedly Avish Sharma, a lawyer from Jammu who’s also a passionate poker player. Sharma, who made history as the first-ever G.O.A.T. finalist, had been in a bit of a slump since his last big win in October. But last night, he turned things around in a major way, taking down PokerBaazi’s The Pride for a massive ₹5.21 Lakhs. This isn’t just his best result of 2024; it’s also his sixth-highest online score ever! With this win, Sharma’s online profits have now surpassed the ₹50 Lakhs mark, making him the top earner of the day. ‘MUMBAI401404, a relative newbie on PokerBaazi, also had a night to remember, finishing runner-up in The Pride for a personal best ₹3.11 Lakhs.

Over on Natural8 India, Mohit Mehta continued his winning ways after a runner-up finish in last week’s Sunday Hypersonic. He made his mark in the CRAZY EIGHTS 88, finishing fifth for ₹3.85 Lakhs – his seventh final table appearance on the platform!

Back on PokerBaazi, Ramji Kishore G finally broke his three-month title drought with a victory in the WTF. He earned ₹2.50 Lakhs through a three-way deal and added another ₹55,000 with four more deep runs. The runner-up, ‘Shravsmanth,’ also had a great night, earning a personal-best ₹2.22 Lakhs from the deal and ₹2.48 Lakhs overall, including a final table finish in the (7-Max) Afternoon Boost. Bijay Sarkar, the IPM#2 Superstack winner, took third place in the WTF with ₹1.80 Lakhs and added to his winnings with two more deep runs, bringing his total for the day to over ₹1.97 Lakhs.

Ankit Wadhawan has been on a roll ever since he came back from the 2024 WSOP! He kept his hot streak going by shipping PokerBaazi’s Daily Super Value for ₹2.25 Lakhs just two weeks after his win in The Pride, raking in a total of ₹2.76 Lakhs, including a deep run in The Pride. ‘Sumit1sharma, a PokerBaazi regular, also had a strong showing in the Daily Super Value, finishing as the runner-up and pocketing ₹1.50 Lakhs.

Over on Adda52, Vikram Mishra, the NPS India 2023 Podium Leaderboard topper, scored his second Maverick victory, earning ₹2.28 Lakhs and breaking a five-week title drought. With two other deep runs, Mishra’s total winnings for the day topped ₹2.39 Lakhs. Ashish Kumar, fresh off a podium finish in the Head Shot NL Bounty, finished runner-up in Maverick for a heartbreaking third time this year, taking home ₹1.67 Lakhs.

Sahil Rajwani, another recent Head Shot NL Bounty finalist, made a solid comeback by winning PokerBaazi’s The Pride Lite, earning ₹1.57 Lakhs. This marked his return to form after an eight-month gap since his (7-Max) Daily SPRINT takedown in January. Cash game veteran Akash Malik proved he can hold his own in tournaments, too, finishing runner-up in The Pride Lite for ₹1.04 Lakhs and racking up ₹1.13 Lakhs for the day.

Pravin Garle, a former finance professional and co-founder of SaaS-based Campus Hiring platform Skills Connect, snagged PokerBaazi’s Daily Last Chance title, earning ₹1.40 Lakhs from a three-way deal, snapping a three-month title drought. Along with a deep run in the WTF, he raked in a total of ₹1.46 Lakhs. ‘skpoker007’ finished second, pocketing ₹1.19 Lakhs from the deal and accumulating ₹1.32 Lakhs across three deep runs. ‘kumarchauhan’ rounded out the podium with a personal best ₹1.18 Lakhs.

The virtual felts of PokerBaazi were on fire last night, and at the heart of it all was Avish ‘thehorse7’ Sharma, a lawyer from Jammu with a passion for poker. After a long title-less spell of over 11 months, the first-ever G.O.A.T. finalist burst onto the scene, proving he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

On a relentless downswing since November, Sharma clinched a resounding victory in PokerBaazi’s ₹30 Lakhs GTD The Pride, bagging his first major win since shipping the BVS#36 (6-Max) last October.

The Pride, part of PokerBaazi’s 10th Anniversary celebrations, was a magnet for serious players. It boasted a boosted ₹30 Lakhs guarantee, and the promise of a massive payday drew in a guarantee-crushing field of 339 players (638 total entries) in the 8 PM headliner.

Undeterred by the fierce competition, Sharma dusted himself off after an early exit and fired a second bullet. This time, he rode it all the way to the top after a hard-fought eight-hour battle, grabbing his maiden The Pride title and a hefty ₹5.21 Lakhs top prize – his best result this year and sixth-highest online score! Not only did he snag the coveted crown, but he also crossed the impressive ₹50 Lakhs mark in online profits, walking away with the bragging rights as the day’s top scorer.

Avish Sharma’s online stats (PokerBaazi, Adda52 and Spartan Poker): Lifetime Winnings: ₹2.32 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹54.40 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #1

While Sharma’s win was the headline, there were other notable performances as well. ‘MUMBAI401404, a relative newcomer to PokerBaazi who’s only been playing since last month, made a serious impression in The Pride, nearly snatching their first-ever title. They might have fallen just short of the win, but their runner-up finish earned them a personal-best ₹3.11 Lakhs – over seven times their previous best score and a significant boost that helped offset some of their previous losses on the platform!

Deepak ‘dkp24’ Kumar, riding high on his win in Tuesday’s Daily Last Chance, kept the momentum going with a third-place finish in The Pride, pocketing a cool ₹2.48 Lakhs.

The ₹5,750 buy-in The Pride was a smash hit. The massive field generated a whopping ₹31.90 Lakhs prize pool, ensuring the top 101 finishers got a taste of the action. And with a minimum payout of ₹10,208 – nearly double the initial buy-in – it was a Wednesday to remember for many players.

Despite falling ₹47,370 short of its ambitious guarantee, the ₹2,750 buy-in WTF still delivered incredible value for players. The top 118 finishers got a share of the ₹20 Lakhs prize pool. Vikram ‘vikram2323’ Mishra (opted out of our tracking), famed as the NPS India 2023 Podium Leaderboard topper, is back in the winner’s circle! This guy is a beast when it comes to big-ticket MTTs, and he proved it once again last night by taking down Adda52’s ₹12.50 Lakhs GTD Maverick – not for the first time, mind you, with a previous win in December 2022.

Mishra has been knocking on the door of victory lately, with recent final table appearances in Adda52`s MMA Monster Stack and Friday Bounty. But last night, he finally broke through, outlasting a competitive 397-entry field (210 unique) in the 8 PM headliner. After an intense battle that lasted nearly eight hours, Mishra emerged victorious, earning a handsome ₹2.28 Lakhs and adding another title to his collection. This win also marks his first victory in five weeks, following his triumph in Natural8 India’s Daily Hypersonic 20 last month.

Mishra’s mid-week grind was a profitable one. He cashed in at least two other events, bringing his total Wednesday winnings to over ₹2.39 Lakhs.

> 1st in Adda52’s Maverick for ₹2,28,383

> 19th in PokerBaazi’s The Pride Lite for ₹7,000

> 14th in Adda52’s Bounty Madness for ₹4,097

Adda52 loyalist Ashish ‘ashish_fa’ Kumar, fresh off a podium finish in the Head Shot NL Bounty, came so close to finally capturing his first Maverick title. He’s been the bridesmaid in this event twice before in 2024, including just two weeks ago. Despite a valiant effort, Kumar had to settle for the runner-up spot for a heartbreaking third time, earning a still-impressive ₹1.67 Lakhs – his third-best career score and second-best for the year.

Ashish Kumar’s Adda52 stats: Site Winnings: ₹41.13 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹23.33 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #2

The Maverick’s final table was packed with familiar faces from the Indian poker scene. We saw the legendary three-time POY and Lucknow Kings captain, the second runner-up at the Pocket52 PSL season 6, Young Gun Gaurav ‘BuildPuntOK’ Sood, finish in third place with ₹1.23 Lakhs. Other notables like Suraj ‘Iamondrugs’ Bhan (4th for ₹89,944), Siddhant ‘AajNahiAana’ Singh (5th for ₹65,928), the always-dangerous Myron ‘zzzzz369’ Pereira (6th for ₹48,325), ‘SPRINT King’ Pradip ‘Nit2Donk’ Ghosh (7th for ₹35,422), and Sneha ‘8B9B5C4C4C’ Karmakar (8th for ₹25,964) were also in the mix, making for some seriously intense and exciting poker action.

The Maverick, with its ₹3,350 buy-in, is known for attracting the best of the best. While the event fell short of its guarantee by a significant ₹98,700, the promised ₹12.50 Lakhs prize pool found its way to the top 62 finishers, making this mid-week showdown a rewarding grind for everyone who made the cut.
