With the weekend rolling in, the action on the virtual felts has also picked up the pace. As far as overlays are concerned, it remains a mixed bag. While some flagships still continue to fall short of their proposed guarantees, others managed to surpass them quite comfortably. Here are the highlights!

Spartan Poker

Offering the biggest prize pool guarantee on Friday was Spartan Poker’s 35 Lakhs GTD The Elite. Bringing together 315 contestants, the event fell 3.5 Lakhs short of meeting its advertised guarantee. Site regular and former Millionaire champion, ‘McFly,’ took down the tourney for an impressive 7.40 Lakhs, after besting Advait ‘Ronaldinho18’ Rajguru in the heads-up play. The champion presently has 1.09 Crores in winnings on Spartan Poker, with a profit of 26.07 Lakhs. Up-and-coming player, Rajguru, who had previously shipped PokerBaazi’s ₹15 Lakhs GTD The Endeavour for ₹2.21 Lakhs, padded his bankroll by 4.98 Lakhs following his runner-up finish. His Friday night score improved his MTT tally to 80.50 Lakhs.

The 12 Lakhs GTD Highroller was the headline tourney on PokerStars India’s Friday roster, and 150 entrants ponied up the 7,700 entry buy-in to play the tourney. This led to the site having to fill in an overlay of 1.5 Lakhs. Benefitting the most from the value on offer was PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘bhasm@sur1’ Arya, who defeated budding talent Armaan ‘armaan007111’ Kochhar in the heads-up finale to clinch the top honors, along with a 2.49 Lakhs paycheque. This is Arya’s seventh flagship title victory this month. Kochhar walked away with a runner-up payday of 1.88 Lakhs.
