Barring Spartan Poker`s Destiny, all the other flagships got swept under the overlay avalanche that hit the major platforms on Wednesday.
The MTT action will soon move a few notches higher as Spartan Poker’s Grand Poker Series (GPS), and PokerStars India’s INCOOP hit the virtual felts today. Pocket52’s month-long Ship-it series is also gaining momentum.
Here`s a complete recap from yesterday.
Spartan Poker
Spartan Poker`s ₹25 Lakhs GTD Destiny had the biggest guarantee on offer across all the flagships. Logging in 592 entries, the ₹5,500 buy-in event accrued a guarantee-smashing ₹29.60 Lakhs. One of the top MTT pros in the country, Raghav ‘thatssosick’ Bansal, powered his way through the reg-infested field to become the fourth player to book a seat in the Destiny 16.0 SnG finale, winning a whopping ₹7.70 Lakhs in the process. This is the third time that Bansal has won the Destiny title, improving his online MTT record to ₹2.84 Crores. Spartan Poker regular Advait ‘Ronaldinho18’ Rajguru banked a career-best ₹4.68 Lakhs for finishing runner-up.
The ₹3 Lakhs GTD Mega Freeze mustered 90 entries to post an overlay worth ₹30,000. An unknown player ‘jaya_indian’ defeated Pranay ‘kabira speaking’ Chawla (runner-up for ₹55,200) heads-up to win the title and the ₹78,750 cash prize. This happens to be the winner’s best-recorded score on the site.
PokerBaazi
PokerBaazi’s ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Pride logged in 319 entries and had to fill in a deficit of ₹43,000. After almost seven hours of play, Guneet ‘guntz’ Kwatra came out on top after defeating PokerGuru Ambassador Jayjit ‘england’ Ray (runner-up for ₹1.55 Lakhs) heads-up to win ₹2.21 Lakhs. Kwatra’s lifetime tally has reached ₹3.49 Crores after this win.
The Wednesday SuperStack registered 143 entries, falling seven entries short of its ₹3 Lakhs prize pool guarantee. Young Gun Anmol ‘anzzzzz’ Mehta, who had championed the ₹25 Lakhs GTD Adda52 Millions on Sunday, took down the tourney to win ₹77,250. Vineesh ‘VanielNegranu’ Bhatia finished runner-up for ₹54,090.
Adda52
The featured tourney on Adda52 was the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Maverick. The ₹2,500 buy-in tourney clocked in 631 entries, experiencing an overlay of ₹64,475. After almost nine hours of grueling play, the mystery user ‘factory123’ powered their way through the field to win ₹3.83 Lakhs. This was the mystery player`s most significant score on Adda52, though they are still stuck with a ₹4.04 Lakhs loss on the site. Umang ‘umang94’ Kakarania finished runner-up for ₹2.18 Lakhs, crossing ₹37 Lakhs in recorded winnings.
The ₹7 Lakhs GTD Monster Stack didn`t fare much better as a turnout of 137 entries meant that the site had to contribute ₹1.52 Lakhs to cover the shortfall. Himanshu ‘himanshu_s’ Sehgal trumped the competition to win ₹1.89 Lakhs while ‘r9cky’ finished runner-up for ₹1.19 Lakhs. Sehgal’s recorded scores on Adda52 have reached ₹32.20 Lakhs after the win.

PokerStars India’s Night on Stars ran with a ₹6 Lakhs prize pool guarantee last night. Again a below-par 229-entry field translated into a ₹27,000 overlay. ‘NerfmyOps™’ was the last player standing in the tourney and pocketed ₹1.16 Lakhs even as Ashwin ‘Ashwinvijay’ Vijay finished runner-up for ₹85,561.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Big Bubble Rush played out amid 184 runners to fall ₹45,000 short of the listed guarantee. After a little more than five hours of play, Vasu ‘Aggrolegend’ Ramanan clinched the title for ₹93,666 (₹51,390 in prize money and ₹42,276 in bounties). Anmolraj ‘modi chai wala’ Singh Chawla finished runner-up for ₹46,472 (₹37,878 in prize money and ₹8,594 in bounties).
