It was an eventful Wednesday with lots of action all around. Here`s the complete recap.
Spartan Poker
Lighting up the virtual felts on Day 7 of the IOPC series was the ₹50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #46 Destiny. Logging in 1259 entries, the ₹5,500 buy-in event accrued a guarantee-smashing ₹62.95 Lakhs prize pool, going 30% over and above the advertised guarantee. Racing past the fierce competition was online reg Deepak ‘chimpoo’ Bothra, who walked away with the title and his best-recorded score on the site worth ₹12.09 Lakhs. Bothra made a three-way deal with ‘5BetNinja’ (2nd for ₹10.63 Lakhs) & ‘Armitrage’ (3rd for ₹8.12 Lakhs) before winning his seat in the ₹10 Lakhs GTD SnG Finale. This is the second time that Bothra has won the Destiny title. He had earlier won the Destiny 10.0 in June last year for ₹5.46 Lakhs. Sitting with ₹2.31 Crores in recorded online winnings, the victory brought him his second-best score to date.
The other marquee tourney, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD IOPC #47, registered 1,005 entries to collect ₹15.07 Lakhs. ‘SidSparta21’ topped the field to win ₹2.87 Lakhs denying APL Ambassador Sumit ‘Sands Myth’ Sapra (runner-up for ₹1.80 Lakhs) what would have been his first-ever IOPC title!
The daily ₹10 Lakhs GTD Destiny IOPC edition has been crushing the guarantees every day, and yesterday was no different. The event logged in 621 entries to frame a prize pool worth ₹12.42 Lakhs. Anirudh ‘flash’ Reddy was the last player standing after defeating Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma (runner-up for ₹1.97 Lakhs) heads-up for ₹3.21 Lakhs. Reddy has won more than 39 titles, and his lifetime tally stands tall at ₹1.37 Crores.
The runner-up Varma posted two final tables scores yesterday. In addition to his runner-up finish in the Destiny, Varma placed 5th in PokerBaazi’s The Pride for 55,400.
The ₹6 Lakhs GTD IOPC#43 was championed by the mystery crusher ‘FunkeyFox’ for ₹1.47 Lakhs. The player beat 464 entries that included the 3rd place finisher in the Destiny, ‘Armitrage’ (runner-up for ₹99,110) heads-up. The top 31 places took a stab at the ₹6.96 Lakhs prize pool.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD IOPC #44 Monster Stack pulled in 809 entries, collecting a profitable, ₹6.47 Lakhs prize pool. It was ‘LuckyLuciano’ who took the top honors and the ₹1.24 Lakhs up top.
PokerBaazi
The Indian Micro Poker Series (IMPS) has been the major attraction for tournament players on PokerBaazi. For the regs, the site hosted the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Pride on Wednesday. The event clocked in 316 entries to witness an overlay worth ₹52,000. It took Chirag ‘miyagi’ Sodha precisely six hours and twenty-two minutes to take down the tourney, and that too for the second consecutive week. He defeated Young Gun Ujjwal ‘Mr_Robot’ Narwal (runner-up for ₹1.55 Lakhs) heads up to win ₹2.21 Lakhs. Last week, he had won the PMVS #3 Pride for ₹2.43 Lakhs!
Sodha also final tabled the IMPS#26 Daily ₹2 Lakhs GTD, placing 4th for ₹13,019. Ranked #11 on the yearly leaderboard, Sodha has accumulated almost ₹1.7 Crores in winnings this year.
Adda52
The primetime tourney on Adda52 was the ₹12.5 lakhs GTD Maverick that collected ₹14.76 Lakhs in the prize pool from 649 entries. In the end, Himanshu ‘bagdwalhimanshu’ Bagdwal decimated the competition to win a career-best ₹3.06 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal with ‘Misagh’ (runner-up ₹2.78 Lakhs). Bagdwal`s most recent victory before this dates back to June 29, where he had shipped the AOPS Afterparty PLO for ₹64,000.
PokerStars India
The Wednesday flagship on PokerStars India, the ₹11 Lakhs GTD Micro Millions-32, kept the trend of overlays on the site intact. The site had to fill in the ₹1 Lakh shortfall on the back of 400 entries. After five hours of play, ‘sheldon11cooper’ collected the winner’s paycheque worth ₹2.26 Lakhs beating Young Gun Ujjwal ‘CougarHunter69’ Narwal (runner-up for ₹1.65 Lakhs) heads-up. Narwal won a collective ₹3.2 Lakhs on Wednesday after taking into account the ₹1.55 Lakhs that he won for his runner-up finish in PokerBaazi’s The Pride.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Micro Millions-34 Big Bubble Rush played out amid 239 runners, registering an overlay of ₹22,000. It was Dhinesh ‘you3betl4bet’ Kumar who championed the event for ₹1.12 Lakhs after outlasting PokerGuru Ambassador
Shashank ‘GOAT-245’ Desai (runner-up for ₹50,791) in the heads-up.
Sanat Mehrotra, who is ranked #5 on the yearly leaderboard, FT-ed two tourneys last night. He finished 4th in Spartan Poker’s IOPC #48 Destiny IOPC Edition for ₹81,972 and took 9th place in PokerBaazi’s The Pride for ₹22,100.

It took over nine hours of play to find a winner, and striding past the fierce competition was Deepak ‘chimpoo’ Bothra. A well-known pro, Bothra boasts of ₹2.31 Crores in lifetime online winnings and was in the spotlight not too long ago for taking down the Adda52-hosted Full House Finale for a personal-best ₹20 Lakhs.
