It was an action-packed Wednesday with Spartan Poker’s IOPC series charging full-speed ahead towards a scintillating finale. Here’s the complete recap of all that went down yesterday.

This entire week’s star attraction will be the ₹3 Crores GTD IOPC Main Event – The Crown. Sporting a ₹11,000 buy-in, the multi-flight tourney has already played out three starting flights. On Wednesday, Day 1C added 459 entries to the existing 902 entries to take the total tally to 1,361 entries. After almost five hours of play, the field dwindled down to 51 contenders. Bagging the most massive stack on Day 1C was long-time reg Madan ‘madsysman’ Kumar (252,039). Sandeep ‘effuno’ Varma RS (219,681) and ‘Glober’ (215,030) were the next top stacks.
161 players have already advanced to Day 2 for Sunday, and 140 among them are unique entries. The Day 1B chip leader ‘AkqA’ continues to retain the overall chip lead after three starting flights with their stack of 309,958. There are five more starting flights yet to play out.
Lighting up the virtual felts on Day 14 of the IOPC series was the ₹50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #92 Destiny. Logging in 1,145 entries, the ₹5,500 buy-in event booked a profitable run, collecting ₹57.25 Lakhs in the prize pool. Racing past the re-infested field was the 2019 IPC ₹100K Highroller champion Pranay ‘kabira speaking’ Chawla, who walked away with the title and his best-recorded score on the site worth ₹14.31 Lakhs. He later posted on Facebook, “Well, that’s one way to put an end to a downswing! This one was special!”
Chawla defeated ‘poxz’ in the heads-up play, and the latter took home ₹8.59 Lakhs in second-place prize money.
This was Chawla’s second IOPC title in the ongoing series. Two days ago, he had won the IOPC#81 for ₹1.39 Lakhs. He even FT-ed the IOPC#94 Destiny – IOPC Edition last night, placing 9th for ₹20,520.
The other marquee tourney, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD IOPC #93, registered 832 entries to collect ₹12.48 Lakhs in the prize pool. Mohit ‘thejoker’ Mehta topped the field to win ₹2.39 Lakhs, denying ‘festner’ (runner-up for ₹1.50 Lakhs) the title. This was Mehta’s first IOPC title and his second-best score on the site.
The ₹10 Lakhs GTD Destiny IOPC Edition has been crushing the guarantees every day, and yesterday was no different. The tourney logged in 540 entries to frame a prize pool worth ₹10.80 Lakhs. Site regular Bhanu ‘spectre’ Prakash was the last player standing after defeating Aman ‘alwaysriver’ Kejriwal (runner-up for ₹1.78 Lakhs) heads-up to win ₹2.86 Lakhs. Prakash’s lifetime tally stands tall at ₹83.87 Lakhs.
The ₹6 Lakhs GTD IOPC#90 was championed by Pavan ‘GODSENT’ Jain for ₹1.02 Lakhs following heads-up deal with ‘MummyjiAap’ (runner-up for ₹89,490). The event drew 393 entries, booking an overlay of ₹10,500.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD IOPC #91 Monster Stack logged in 690 entries, collecting a profitable ₹5.52 Lakhs prize pool. ‘Sid297’ took the top honors and the ₹94,537 up top, following a three-way deal with Ankush ‘Armitrage’ Aryan(runner-up for ₹66,304) and ‘IveyLeague9009’ (3rd for ₹61,615). The champion has won back-to-back IOPC titles. The day before yesterday, they won IOPC #84 for ₹1.22 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi’s Wednesday flagship, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Pride, clocked in 322 entries to witness an overlay worth ₹34,000. Priyank ‘Piko1432’ Kothari, who happens to be on a ₹30+ Lakhs upswing on PokerBaazi this year, added ₹2.21 Lakhs more to his tally after beating ‘Amarjeet’ (runner-up for ₹1.55 Lakhs) heads-up.

The primetime special on Day 6 of the Adda52 Poker Fest (APF) series was the ₹15 Lakhs GTD APF Maverick. The ₹2,500 buy-in tourney clocked in 709 entries to accrue a guarantee-smashing ₹16.13 Lakhs. Rohan ‘rohan142’ Soman decimated the competition to win ₹2.86 Lakhs, following a three-way deal with Chiraag ‘vipervenom’ Patel (runner-up for ₹2.68 Lakhs) and Chandan ‘darkfish15’ Arora (3rd for ₹2.41 Lakhs). This happens to be Soman’s second title victory since last week. He had won PokerBaazi’s The Endeavour on July 15 for ₹3.17 Lakhs. Soman’s lifetime scorecard has reached ₹86.54 Lakhs.
The other marquee tourney, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD APF Eclipse, registered 163 entries to post an overlay of ₹1.85 Lakhs. PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja was the last player standing in the tourney after beating Neeraj ‘NEERAJ2828’ Bajaj (runner-up for ₹1.70 Lakhs) heads-up to win ₹2.70 Lakhs. The Chandigarh-based pro is among the seven players in the country to have won over ₹2 Crores this year, and he only recently crossed the magical ₹5 Crore-mark in lifetime online scores. With ₹5.14 Crores in recorded online winnings, Ahuja is presently the #5 ranked player on the annual leaderboard.

PokerStars India’s ₹8 Lakhs GTD Night on Stars had to fill in a ₹72,500 shortfall on the back of a below-par 291 entries. Vinay ‘VlNAY09’ Rajpal took down the event for ₹1.12 Lakhs, after a four-way deal with ‘yash1805’ (runner-up for ₹1.09 Lakhs), Rocky ‘ravenvlaw410’ Gehlot (3rd for ₹1.02 Lakhs), and Ashwin ‘Ashwinvijay’ Vijay (4th for ₹81,267).
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Big Bubble Rush played out amid 200 runners, to just about break-even on the posted guarantee. Sandy ‘Ziigmunddd’ Lamba championed the event for ₹1.41 Lakhs after outlasting Pranav ‘pkpok13’ Khandalkar (runner-up for ₹42,368) heads-up. Lamba also won the Wednesday Superstack on PokerBaazi for ₹79,310 to book two titles in a day for a cumulative ₹2.21 Lakhs.

The third starting flight, i.e., Day 1C of the IOPC series’ magnum opus ₹3 Crores GTD IOPC Main Event – The Crown kicked-off at 6 PM. Collecting 459 entrants, the event has now reached an overall player pool of 1,361 entries. With a buy-in of ₹11,000, the tourney needs approximately 2,723 entries (3,000 if you discount the rake) to meet its listed guarantee. With five starting flights left to play out, it is undoubtedly on track to set a new prize pool record.
Day 1C continued till 10:46 PM, and by the time the bags were brought out, only 51 runners were left in the fray. Long-time reg Madan ‘madsysman’ Kumar, who had bagged the sixth-biggest stack of 171,697 on Day 1B, emerged as the end-of-Day 1C chip leader with 252,039.
