On most occasions, Mondays are relatively slow in comparison to the explosive Sunday action. While last Sunday’s massive turnouts were hard to beat, yesterday wasn’t lacking in action either. With the majority of the domestic poker community now grinding online, due to the ‘social distancing’ and ‘self-isolation’ protocols implemented by the government, most of the marquee events comfortably surpassed their advertised guarantees.

With the Spartan Super Series (SSS) now in the books, Spartan Poker has further upped the ante by introducing new DLY Prime Tournaments. Headlining the Monday lineup was the ReCharge ₹12 Lakhs GTD. Bringing in 938 participants (424 unique, 158 re-entries, and 356 re-buys), the ReCharge smashed its offered guarantee and collected a prize pool worth ₹18.76 Lakhs. Kanav ‘SneakyBlinders’ Parwal locked horns with one of the biggest Millionaire winners to date, Anurag ‘Norman Bates’ Srivastava in the heads-up finale. The former ultimately walked away with the title and top prize of ₹3.59 Lakhs. At the same time, Srivastava, who presently leads the online MTT profit leaderboard for 2020, added another ₹2.23 Lakhs to his tally for finishing runner-up.

A rising star in the domestic circuit, Parwal co-owns the Haryana Sultans team in MTV’s Super Fight League. He is a graduate of the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Parwal has already recorded online winnings of over ₹90 Lakhs, which includes 12 titles!

The Deep Freeze ₹6 Lakhs GTD was the other flagship tourney on Spartan Poker last night, and it registered a field of 127 entries, posting a prize pool of ₹7.62 Lakhs. Guneet ‘guntz’ Kwatra took down the event for ₹1.91 Lakhs, after a heads-up chop with Raghav ‘thatssosick’ Bansal (runner-up for ₹1.29 Lakhs).

Last week, The Bout ₹10 Lakhs GTD on PokerBaazi had experienced a technical glitch, and the brand had offered tickets to this week’s event to all the players who had been affected. Last night, the tourney saw 828 runners (460 unique and 368 re-entries) turn up to participate, resulting in a massive prize pool collection of ₹20.70 Lakhs. Riding on the high from shipping Spartan Poker’s SSS#51 The Elite Highroller ₹55 Lakhs GTD on March 21, PokerGuru Ambassador Madhav ‘goacartel’ Gupta ran past the field and bested Chirag ‘miyagi’ Sodha in the final showdown to clinch the title and the ₹3.67 Lakhs up top. Sodha banked ₹2.57 Lakhs for his second-place finish.

The PokerBaazi Bankroll Builder Series (PBBS) kicked off yesterday and will continue till March 29. Catering towards the low-stakes players, the series comprises of 29 events. With a total prize pool of ₹6 Lakhs, the buy-ins for the series range from a very affordable ₹15 to ₹500. The multi-flight PBBS#4 ₹2 Lakhs GTD Main Event commenced last night, and Flight 1 pulled in 246 entries (131 unique and 115 re-entries). Anant ‘anant_infiniti’ Malik bagged the most massive stack of 317,184 among the 23 survivors. ‘Sudmore’ (315,918) and ‘pinni’ (276,868) rounded out the top three stacks. There will be five more starting flights that will be played till March 28, with the final day of the Main Event taking place on March 29.

Moving over to Adda52, we saw the Inception ₹10 Lakhs GTD attracting 522 entrants (250 unique and 272 re-entries), leading to a ₹16.70 Lakhs prize pool. Chirag ‘mahikk’ Bhardwaj raced to the top of the field and banked ₹4 Lakhs for his win, while Sandeep ‘effuno’ Varma came in second for ₹2.33 Lakhs.

PokerStars India’s Monday Hustle ₹10 Lakhs GTD was the only weekly flagship that failed to meet its advertised guarantee yesterday. Drawing in 249 entries (134 unique and 115 re-entries), it fell short by just one entry. ‘vinaash’ shipped the tournament and defeated Vikram ‘GreenSTUFF79’ Mishra (runner-up for ₹1.41 Lakhs) heads-up to walk away with ₹1.91 Lakhs in prize money!
