It`s the start of a new month, and with the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) now well underway, it has led to a bit of distraction from the virtual felts. This, in turn, has led to most of the marquees registering overlays off-late, a trend that was visible yesterday as well!
Here’s a quick recap of the day`s biggest winners.
Spartan Poker
Offering the most massive prize pool guarantee across all the Wednesday flagships was Spartan Poker’s ₹25 Lakhs GTD Destiny. A turnout of 577 entries helped generate a guarantee-smashing ₹28.85 Lakhs prize pool. The former Millionaire Lite champion Chirag ‘chilling’ Sodha decimated the competition to become the eighth player to book a Destiny 16.0 SnG finale seat, as he pocketed a whopping ₹6.10 Lakhs. This is the third time Sodha has won the Destiny, and the big payday helped him climb up 2 places to #11 on the annual leaderboard. Sodha now has over ₹2.25 Crores in yearly scores, while his lifetime record stands tall at ₹4.64 Crores. Before taking down the title, Sodha shook hands with ‘AdrenALLNeRush’ (runner-up for ₹6.01 Lakhs), agreeing to a heads-up deal.
The ₹2.75 Lakhs GTD Mega Freeze was won by ‘IbuHateLa’ for ₹71,432, following a three-way deal with ‘Igot2flush’ (runner-up for ₹52,240) and ‘Stalin_spartan’ (3rd for ₹48,633).
PokerStars India
PokerStars India, once again, played host to two ₹5 Lakhs GTD flagships yesterday. The more expensive of the two tourneys, the ₹2,750 entry buy-in Big Bubble Rush logged-in 213 entries translating to a ₹5.32 Lakhs prize pool. Spartan Poker regular ‘sheldon11cooper’ was the last player standing in the tourney and pocketed ₹1.24 Lakhs. The runner-up prize went to Amar B ‘PsykoEko’ Iyer, who banked ₹54,336.
The ₹1,750 entry buy-in Night On Stars also enjoyed a profitable run. The event attracted 317 entries that helped collect ₹5.04 Lakhs in the prize pool. The curtains fell when mystery user ‘TheAnnihilator’ took down the tourney, pocketing ₹94,737 after outlasting Hitesh ‘hiteshbhai999’ Batra (runner-up for ₹69,442) heads-up.
PokerBaazi
Wednesday’s are reserved for PokerBaazi’s signature tourney, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Pride. The ₹3,300 entry buy-in tourney witnessed a 303-strong entry field to post an overlay of ₹91,000. PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘flopCheck’ Arya ran past the competition, including his heads-up opponent, the online phenom Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma (runner-up for ₹1.55 Lakhs) to bank the winner’s paycheque worth ₹2.21 Lakhs. Arya has accumulated over ₹1.57 Crores in MTT winnings in 2020 already, while his recorded scores have touched ₹3.15 Crores.
The runner-up Varma has been in sublime form recently. His numerous deep runs and flagship victories have made him one of the biggest winners of September. He currently has lifetime online earnings worth ₹3.27 Crores.
Vinay ‘Vinstill’ Bk took down the ₹3 Lakhs GTD Wednesday SuperStack on PokerBaazi, besting 147 entries to bank ₹77,250. ‘Apocalypto’ finished runner-up for ₹54,090.

Akshay ‘nofuchsgiven’ Dhingra settled for a runner-up prize of ₹2.18 Lakhs.

This must be a much welcome victory for Sapra, who had last won Spartan Poker’s FMS Main Event in August. His recorded lifetime earnings have touched a staggering ₹5.71 Crores.
