While Mondays often bring a subdued mood after a thrilling weekend, this Monday defied expectations, delivering electrifying poker action across the virtual felts. With PokerBaazi’s prestigious ₹60 Crores GTD Indian Poker Masters and Junglee Poker’s ₹12+ Crores GTD Azadi Series in full swing, the stakes were high, and so were the victories.

Amidst India’s challenges at the Paris Olympics, where Lakshya Sen narrowly missed out on a bronze medal in badminton and shooters Maheshwari Chauhan and Anand Jeet Singh Naruka came close to medaling, the Indian spirit was undeterred. Avinash Sable‘s fifth-place finish in the men’s 3000m steeplechase exemplified determination, while Kiran Pahal‘s efforts in the women’s 400m repechage and Manika Batra‘s leadership in the women’s table tennis team carried the torch forward. As the nation cheered for Neeraj Chopra‘s javelin throw qualification, the poker tables saw their own stars rise.

Stealing the spotlight, Debayan Das ended his 10-month title drought with a spectacular win in PokerBaazi’s ₹60 Lakhs GTD IPM#11 Big Bounty (PKO). His triumph earned him a career-high ₹14.77 Lakhs (₹5.77 Lakhs in bounties) and the coveted IPM trophy. With an additional score in IPM#13, Das bumped his Monday haul to ₹14.79 Lakhs, propelling him to #23 on the ₹1 Crore IPM series leaderboard, solidifying his place among the poker elite.

Pradip Ghosh, known as the ‘SPRINT King,’ came agonizingly close to ending his own month-long title drought, finishing second in the IPM#11 Big Bounty (PKO) with a remarkable ₹8.93 Lakhs (₹2.93 Lakhs in bounties). Ghosh’s relentless pursuit brought him a total of ₹9.45 Lakhs in Monday’s haul, reaffirming his status as a formidable competitor.

On Natural8 India, the dynamic player ‘Bryant_24’ returned to the spotlight with a vengeance. Following a hot streak last month, they claimed four podium finishes, including two titles – Speed Racer Bounty 108 and Speed Racer Bounty 32 – amassing an admirable ₹5.64 Lakhs in winnings.

Vishal Ojha, the 2023 USOP Main Event champion, is unstoppable. Fresh off a victory in Adda52’s Godfather, Ojha claimed his first title in PokerBaazi’s IPM#14 (6-Max) Hyper, adding ₹4.45 Lakhs to his impressive winnings. With deep runs in four other tournaments, Ojha’s total Monday earnings soared to ₹4.69 Lakhs, securing him the #7 spot on the ₹1 Crore IPM series leaderboard. Rohan Sharma, after a strong performance in the Daily Micro HighRoller on Saturday, clinched second place in the IPM#14 (6-Max) Hyper, earning ₹2.97 Lakhs and bringing his Monday total to ₹3.02 Lakhs.

Prashanth Sekar, the first-ever Game Changer champion, ended his three-month title drought by taking down PokerBaazi’s IPM#10 Turbo. He banked ₹4.51 Lakhs, marking his largest single payday of 2024 and the sixth-largest of his career. With another score in Adda52’s Iron Man, Sekar finished his Monday run with ₹4.56 Lakhs in winnings. Newcomer ‘Misskhiladi’ also made waves, finishing runner-up for a personal-best ₹3.01 Lakhs, over 15X their previous best score.

Ramu Kushwaha from Jalaun continues to dominate! After winning five titles in July, including the WTF and The Quest Lite, he secured his second IPM title with a win in the IPM#13, earning ₹2.79 Lakhs. With deep runs in three other tournaments, he’s amassed ₹3.01 Lakhs and climbed to #18 on the ₹1 Crore IPM leaderboard. Arbaaz Ahmed narrowly missed the top spot in the IPM#13, finishing second with ₹1.42 Lakhs and totaling ₹1.50 Lakhs in winnings for the day.

Jayjit Ray finally ended his year-long title drought, winning PokerBaazi’s IPM#9 (PLO-6) with ₹2.21 Lakhs after a heads-up deal. This not only marked his highest score of 2024 but also pushed his tracked online profits past the ₹1 Crore mark. Ray earned an additional ₹2.37 Lakhs from deep runs in two other Indian Poker Masters tournaments. Avinash Koneru, the runner-up in the IPM#9 (PLO-6), took home ₹2.01 Lakhs from the deal, bringing his total Monday earnings to an impressive ₹2.40 Lakhs.

Over on Adda52, Anish Arora, a key player in Team Crushers’ victory in PokerBaazi’s ‘Poker MasterClass’ streamed on Jio Cinema, took down the Iron Man for ₹1.98 Lakhs, his second-best score on the platform this year. His total winnings for the day reached nearly ₹2.12 Lakhs across three deep runs. Jayjit ‘England’ Ray, who last made our radar with a runner-up finish in the (7-Max) Daily SPRINT in May and was somewhat under the radar for most of July, has returned to the online poker scene and immediately made a statement by ending his year-long title drought in epic fashion. He took down PokerBaazi’s ₹15 Lakhs GTD IPM#9 (PLO-6), proving he’s still got the skills to pay the bills.

Anshul Jiyani
Anshul Jiyani

After a final table appearance in the (7-Max) Afternoon Boost back in January, Jiyani was hungry for more. He jumped into the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Daily Last Chance and absolutely crushed the late-night flagship, taking down a massive field of 441 entries (244 unique) with a smart double-entry strategy. After a quick but intense five-hour and 23-minute battle, Jiyani won the 11:30 PM flagship, claiming his first-ever PokerBaazi title and a sweet ₹1.58 Lakhs payday—his second-highest score ever, helping him recover some of his past losses.

Anshul Jiyani’s PokerBaazi stats: Site Winnings: ₹13.13 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #1

Meanwhile, Ashish ‘Notoriouskonvict’ Nailwal, a former The MoneyMaker runner-up who had been keeping a relatively low profile, with his last standout score coming from a podium finish in the BSS Kickoff in June, made a fiery return to the scene. He fired five bullets in the Daily Last Chance and locked in a second-place finish, taking home ₹1.07 Lakhs. He kept the momentum going with deep runs in three Indian Poker Masters tournaments, ending his Monday with ₹1.28 Lakhs in total winnings.

Even after winning the same event last month, he couldn’t quite snag the top spot this time, but he still secured a solid third-place finish and ₹82,000. Mittal then made a strong run in the IPM#10 Turbo, finishing his Monday grind with ₹87,411 in total winnings.

He fired two bullets in last night’s Daily Last Chance and again nabbed fifth place, taking home ₹48,000.

The Daily Last Chance, with its ₹2,500 buy-in, was already a great value tournament, but a juicy ₹41,266 in overlays made it even more attractive. The top 65 finishers all got a piece of the action, even those just making it into the money pocketing a decent ₹5,500 – a 2X return on their initial buy-in.
