Happy Republic Day everyone! India celebrates its 73rd Republic Day today and while most people will be enjoying the holiday to celebrate the occasion, poker players have a hectic grind ahead with the 12th edition of the IOPC laying out an action-packed schedule of tournaments.

The IOPC had filled in guarantee-crushing fields in the first five days of its run and the Tuesday turnouts were equally encouraging. The Spartan Poker user ‘NoConnection’, emerged as the day`s top scorer as he took down IOPC#36 – Tuesday Prime for ₹6.55 Lakhs following a heads-up deal with Deep Patel (2nd for a career-best ₹5.69 Lakhs).

Sunday`s IOPC #24 – Blaze runner-up finisher Amit Kaushik delivered another impressive run last night! Returning to the grind after a day`s break, he filled in ₹4.80 Lakhs from his Tuesday night haul, and what’s even better, he did it on a marathon 12 hour-long live stream. He most notably won PokerStars India’s Bounty Builder HR for ₹2.69 Lakhs and came third in IOPC #37 – Tuesday Spotlight for ₹1.70 Lakhs!

Vinay B came out on top in Adda52’s The Mint, winning the Tuesday major for the second time for 4.23 Lakhs. Vijendra Kumar Sharma finished runner-up for 2.46 Lakhs.

Arun Sriram championed IOPC #37 – Tuesday Spotlight for 3.82 Lakhs, with PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja collecting 2.37 Lakhs in second place.

PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit Wadhawan won PokerBaazi`s The Endeavour, banking 3.32 Lakhs.

Young Gun Neel Joshi won his career-first IOPC title last night, taking down IOPC #38 – All Rounder PKO for 2.66 Lakhs. Rising Star Aman Parakh came second for 1.58 Lakhs.

Karan Radia, Mayank Maruka, Vikk Sharma, Prabhas Sharma, Nitin Rawat, Gopal Bajaj, and Aditya Singh dominated the other Tuesday majors.

Spartan Poker

The 12th edition of the IOPC completed a third of its 18-day-run yesterday! The Day 6 lineup had seven events on tap, and six of them played down to a winner. The series has enjoyed a guarantee-crushing run so far and yesterday was no different.

The ₹32 Lakhs GTD IOPC #36 – Tuesday Prime was the biggest guaranteed event to crown a champion yesterday. The ₹3,300 buy-in event registered a whopping 1,347-strong field and the top 119 places got a share from the ₹40.41 Lakhs prize pool. The mystery reg ‘NoConnection’ was the last player standing after almost nine hours of gameplay and bagged ₹6.55 Lakhs in prize money following a heads-up deal with Deep ‘PatelBhai789’ Patel (2nd for career-best ₹5.69 Lakhs).

The ₹15 Lakhs GTD IOPC #37 – Tuesday Spotlight logged in 998 entries, generating a massive ₹19.96 Lakhs prize pool. The former The Millionaire champion, Arun ‘vazharmorghulis’ Sriram, shipped the title for ₹3.82 Lakhs, just as PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja came second for ₹2.37 Lakhs.

The former Full House champion, Arun Sriram, also min-cashed IOPC #38 – All Rounder (98th for ₹200). His online stats: Lifetime Winnings: ₹2.20 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹58 Lakhs

The ₹12 Lakhs GTD IOPC #38 – All Rounder PKO brought in 693 hopefuls and only 55 among them got a piece of the ₹13.86 Lakhs prize pool. After a little over seven hours, Young Gun Neel ‘Worm33’ Joshi took down the event to win ₹2.66 Lakhs (includes ₹23,884 in bounties) and his first career IOPC title. Rising Star Aman ‘Karmapoker’ Parakh placed runner-up for ₹1.58 Lakhs (includes ₹4,438 in bounties).

With last night’s win, Neel Joshi became the fourth player to book a seat in the ₹6 Lakhs IOPC #112 – All Rounder SNG scheduled for February 6 (9 PM). He crossed the money line in three more events, collectively netting ₹3.32 Lakhs. His online stats: Lifetime Winnings: ₹4.54 Crores| Lifetime Profits: ₹1.79 Crores

Aman Parakh cashed in an impressive six events (including two FT scores), collectively pocketing ₹2.80 Lakhs.

The ₹6.25 Lakhs GTD IOPC#34 – PKO, featuring a ₹1,650 buy-in, collected a ₹7.89 Lakhs prize pool on the back of 526 entrants, and paid out 39 places. The IOPC #28 winner Mayank ‘barrelbrat’ Maruka navigated his way across the competition to win ₹1.48 Lakhs (₹18,282 in bounties) and his second IOPC title on consecutive days. Prabhas ‘Baba_Tufaani’ Sharma came second for ₹89,389 (₹1,744 in bounties).

Starting at 1 PM, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD IOPC#33 brought in 890 runners and with each of them signing up for ₹660, the top 71 places took a bite out of the ₹5.34 Lakhs prize pool. The user ‘Tkolte’ raced past the competition to win the title for ₹95,024 following a heads-up deal with ‘SMRV123456’ (2nd for ₹72,972).

The user ‘Eggfrycurry’ walked away with the ₹4 Lakhs GTD IOPC#35 – 4 Card PLO title and ₹1.09 Lakhs in prize money. Nitin ‘NITINABD’ Rawat collected ₹69,724 in second place. The ₹880 buy-in event filled in a 704-player field, and the top 47 places got a piece of the ₹5.63 Lakhs prize pool.

The ₹40 Lakhs GTD IOPC – Wanderer played out its second starting flight yesterday. Starting at 9 PM, Day 1B went on until 1 AM, and only 71 players from the 673 hopefuls who entered the flight carried forward a stack to Day 2. ‘stickyMF’ (308,160), Kanishka ‘Wildflower’ Samant (252,380) and Parth ‘ucallucry’ Budhraja (241,629) topped the day-end chip counts.

Tallying up the 678 entries on Day 1A, the ₹880 buy-in Wanderer has filled in 1,351 entries so far. There are another seven starting flights remaining before all qualifying stacks converge for Day 2 on January 24.

The IOPC leaderboard standings finally saw a change in the top order yesterday. While Ankit ‘ON_MY_MAC’ Bajaj (5,466 points) and the four-time ‘Crusher of the Day’ Vinay ‘BeepBeepImaJeep’ Rajpal (5,112 points) continue to occupy the top two positions in the standings after the Day 6 events, the IOPC – Tuesday Prime champion ‘NoConnection’ (4,718 points) has moved up to #3 in the rankings, displacing Anurag Srivastava.

The FTS 3.0 Main Event winner, PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit ‘d00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan, came out on top to win ₹3.33 Lakhs, beating ‘nnavin3386’ (2nd for ₹2.33 Lakhs) heads-up.

The top 20 spots got paid, with Sunday’s IOPC #24 – Blaze runner-up finisher Amit ‘Stu Ungar 7694’ Kaushik clinching the title for ₹2.69 Lakhs (includes ₹1.44 Lakhs in bounties). Young Gun Karan ‘The Annihilator’ Radia (includes ₹15,094 in bounties) secured the runner-up payday of ₹1.39 Lakhs.

Amit Kaushik has been quite the revelation this week. Returning after taking the Monday off, he could be seen multi-tabling MTTs across sites while live streaming his busy Tuesday grind. He came whiskers close to winning IOPC #37 – Tuesday Spotlight on Spartan Poker and eventually placed third for ₹1.70 Lakhs. With two other cashes to his name, Kaushik added ₹4.80 Lakhs to his online scorecard, coming within striking distance of overtaking Young Gun Siddhanth Kripalani at the top of the monthly/ annual leaderboard.
