Wednesday, January 26, might have been a holiday for most people but not for poker players who came out in strong numbers to play an action-packed schedule of MTTs and Republic Day special tournaments!

The 12th edition of the IOPC completed a week`s run yesterday, and the action is only getting more intense as we approach the business end of the series.

Young Gun Devang Yadav was the day’s biggest winner, banking ₹10.09 Lakhs for his career-fourth IOPC title in Spartan Poker’s GTD IOPC#42 – Wednesday Prime. A heads-up deal saw the “Crusher of the Day” Punya Behera receiving a career-best ₹8.03 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

Karan Kapur locked in ₹4.67 Lakhs in Wednesday winnings on the back of deep runs in Spartan Poker’s IOPC#42 – Wednesday Prime (5th for ₹2.91 Lakhs) and Adda52’s Maverick (3rd for ₹1.60 Lakhs)!

The bracelet-winning PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik Ved came out on top in Adda52’s Maverick to collect ₹3.30 Lakhs following a heads-up deal with Neeraj Bajaj (2nd for ₹3.14 Lakhs).

Aditya Singh walked away with PokerBaazi’s The Pride title and ₹2.79 Lakhs in prize money and chopped the event heads-up with ‘Keeday256’ (2nd for ₹2.71 Lakhs).

Vinay Choudhry won IOPC#43 – Wednesday Spotlight for his career-first IOPC title and ₹2.73 Lakhs in prize money following a heads-up deal with Akhilesh Chauhan (2nd for ₹2.54 Lakhs).

The former The Millionaire champion Rishab Malik came out trumps in IOPC #44 – All Rounder Monster Stack to win his first IOPC title and the 2.56 Lakhs up-top. Anirudh Reddy placed runner-up for 1.62 Lakhs.

Saahib Bawa bagged his third career IOPC title after taking down IOPC #40 for ₹1.47 Lakhs. He struck a three-way deal with ‘Sammyy’ (2nd for ₹1.18 Lakhs) and ‘Scud’ (3rd for ₹1.06 Lakhs).

Young Gun Karan Radia made the winners list yet again as he took down IOPC#41 for ₹1.36 Lakhs, beating Siddarth Singhvi (2nd for ₹85,039) heads-up. The London-based poker reg became the first player at win three events at the ongoing IOPC January 2022 edition.

PokerGuru Ambassador Gokul Raj championed PokerStars Indias Night on Stars for 1.14 Lakhs, with Atishay Samuel placing runner-up for 85,924.

The FTS 2.0 Main Event champion Young Gun Siddharth Karia won the La Luna title for the second time yesterday for ₹1.06 Lakhs. Nitesh Mallanar came second for ₹63,042.

Rohit Setia, Shankar Singh, Mohak Kapoor, Mahesh Shyamsundar, Sandeep Malik (two titles), Animesh Thakur, Tejas Kadam, Md Nazim, and Sarvesh Sharma won the other marquees!

Spartan Poker

The guarantee-crushing ₹30 Crores GTD IOPC January 2022 Edition had six players winning IOPC titles on Day 7 of the series.

Heading the Wednesday action was the ₹50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #42 – Wednesday Prime. The ₹5,500 entry buy-in event logged in a guarantee-crushing 1,192 participants, and the top 111 places got paid a share from the ₹59.60 Lakhs prize pool (almost 20% more than the advertised guarantee). The min-cash was worth ₹14,900.

The former SSS – The Millionaire Legends champion, Young Gun Devang ‘THENERDGUY’ Yadav, came out on top to win the flagship title for ₹10.09 Lakhs and his career-fourth IOPC title – the seven-figure payday making him the day`s top scorer. Before taking down the title, Yadav agreed to a heads-up deal with the former The Elite winner Punya ‘madhumangal’ Behera, who collected a career-best ₹8.03 Lakhs in second place.

Sanish ‘Sanish21’ Chhabra (4th for ₹3.67 Lakhs), Young Gun Ujjwal ‘Lord Hendrix’ Narwal (6th for ₹2.20 Lakhs), and Bharat ‘LorenzoVonMatterhorn’ Vasan (7th for ₹1.58 Lakhs) also FT-ed IOPC #42 – Wednesday Prime.

Last night’s win fetched Devang Yadav the eighth seven-figure score of his career. His online stats: Lifetime Winnings: ₹4.54 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹1.85 Crores

Punya Behara eliminated the most number of players on Wednesday to be named the “Crusher of the Day.” He received FREE tickets to all IOPC events on Thursday.

Vinay Choudhry’s first title win of the year boosted his online tally to ₹73.51 Lakhs.

Jaya ‘denb’ Bharathkumar Prajapati (5th for ₹86,227), Devashish ‘KABIR13’ Jain (7th for ₹47,866), and Harrshith ‘Dunnopoker’ Karthik (8th for ₹32,659) also FT-ed IOPC#43 – Wednesday Spotlight.

The 12 Lakhs GTD IOPC #44 – All Rounder Monster Stack obliterated its advertised guarantee by 1.20 Lakhs after logging in a 660-entry field. Each of them signed up for 2,200, and the top 55 places walked past the money line. The former The Millionaire champion, Rishab ‘NoChanc3 Malik, was the last player standing after over seven hours of gameplay and won the 2.56 Lakhs up-top and his first IOPC title. Rishab Malik is now the fifth player to book a seat in the ₹6 lakhs added IOPC #112 All Rounder SNG scheduled for February 6 (9 PM). He collectively added over 3 Lakhs last night from five ITM finishes.

A three-way deal saw the former AOPS Holdem Highroller runner-up Saahib ‘Str8$$$Homey’ Bawa walking away with his career`s third IOPC title and ₹1.47 Lakhs in prize money. ‘Sammyy’ (2nd for ₹1.18 Lakhs) and ‘Scud’ (3rd for ₹1.06 Lakhs) were the other two beneficiaries of the deal.

The ₹4.75 Lakhs GTD IOPC #41 was another guarantee-crushing affair at the IOPC yesterday, with a 1,009-strong field setting up ₹7.06 Lakhs in the prize pool. Young Gun Karan ‘Majestic’ Radia set a new benchmark at the series by taking down the event for ₹1.36 Lakhs, becoming the first player to win three titles at the ongoing series. Siddarth ‘PeterPunter’ Singhvi placed runner-up for ₹85,039.

The user ‘Vipannn’ took down the ₹4 Lakhs GTD IOPC #39 R+A for ₹76,118 following a heads-up deal with Prabhas ‘Baba_Tufaani’ Sharma (2nd for ₹62,576).

Day 1C of the ₹40 Lakhs GTD IOPC Wanderer signed up 607 participants, expanding the field to 1,958 entries (Day 1A – 678, Day 1B – 673, and Day 1C – 607). After 27 levels of play, only 59 runners survived the day’s onslaught. Aditya ‘MansaMusa’ Pareek (245,452), Kunal ‘kunaly005’ Yadav (226,207), and Suresh ‘pokergambit’ Kolli (224,090) carried forward the top stacks of the day.

With Week #1 of the IOPC action done and dusted, Ankit ‘ON_MY_MAC’ Bajaj continues to headline the IOPC leaderboard standings with 5,466 points. The 1.50 Lakhs GTD Big Bubble Rush registered a 145-player field, falling five entries short of its 150-entry guarantee. The 1,100 buy-in event paid out 14 places.
