2024 has been a landmark year for Indian poker, and as the year draws to a close, the live action in Asia is reaching a fever pitch. The season-ending USOP Grand Finale Hai Phong – the biggest poker festival ever held in Vietnam – is drawing record-breaking crowds, and Team India is right in the thick of it, racking up deep runs left and right.

Leading this Indian invasion is Natural8 India Executive Director and Ambassador Kunal Patni, who has been crushing the series with three deep runs already, including two final table finishes and over ₹23 Lakhs in winnings. Not to be outdone, WSOP bracelet winner Kartik Ved added to the team’s success last night, grabbing his second cash of the series with a strong fourth-place finish in the VN₫ 22 Million Mini High Roller, worth a cool ₹3.28 Lakhs. With Team India making waves, the Hai Phong series is shaping to be a spectacular finale to an incredible year for our players on the Asian circuit!

But the excitement doesn’t stop at the live tables in Vietnam. Back home, the online poker scene is just as explosive, with PokerBaazi and Natural8 India at the forefront. Both platforms are delivering massive prize pools and crowning some of India’s biggest winners. And with PokerBaazi’s ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online series kicking off this Sunday, the anticipation is through the roof. Tuesday’s action was a perfect preview of this online frenzy, with The Endeavour making a fiery return to PokerBaazi and Natural8 India serving up some sizzling scores of its own. The virtual felt was a battleground, setting the stage for what is sure to be an incredible end to the year.

Tuesday night saw the online tables light up, and one name rose above the rest: Prem Chand Gope. This underdog turned hero delivered a performance for the ages in The Endeavour, clinching his first-ever flagship title and a career-best ₹6.57 Lakhs after a three-way deal. Abhishek Shivhare came agonizingly close to winning his first-ever PokerBaazi title in The Endeavour, finishing runner-up for ₹5.27 Lakhs – a result of the three-way deal. This wasn’t just his biggest score on the platform; it also represented a massive comeback, erasing nearly half of his previous losses in one fell swoop. Dhirendra Kumar, a former Spartan Poker FTS Big Game champion from 2020, rounded out the top three, taking home a site-best ₹4.84 Lakhs as part of the deal, also his best score this year.

Over at Natural8 India, ‘rabrab‘ stole the show! Fresh off a dazzling win in the Hyper Turbo Bounty 525 and a runner-up finish in the Bounty Hunters Deepstack Turbo 88 last week, ‘rabrab’ kept the momentum rolling with a third-place finish in the Lucky Sevens Turbo 77 for ₹5.93 Lakhs – their second-biggest score on the platform! With over ₹31 Lakhs in earnings on Natural8 India, ‘rabrab’ is riding a wave of success.

‘SanWitcher‘ was another Natural8 India player who made headlines. After a month-long break since taking down the Daily Special 30, this mystery crusher returned with a fiery performance in the Zodiac Main Event, finishing third for ₹4.83 Lakhs and pushing their total winnings on the platform past the ₹1.25 Crores mark.

Anant Purohit continued his incredible run of success on Natural8 India. Fresh off his impressive win in the Sunday Bounty King 320 and a relentless string of deep runs last week, this poker veteran added another feather to his cap with a deep run in the Bounty Hunters HR Mystery Paradise 525, finishing 34th for ₹3.27 Lakhs. Purohit is currently enjoying the hottest streak of his career and sits comfortably at #4 in the Player of the Year race with an astounding ₹4.68 Crores in annual earnings!

The action on Natural8 India didn’t stop there. ‘GTO_Only‘ took down the Speed Racer Bounty 54 for ₹2.53 Lakhs, while ‘MR BEAST‘ continued their impressive run with a sixth-place finish in the Zodiac Main Event, padding their bankroll with an extra ₹2.21 Lakhs.

Back on PokerBaazi, ‘Treys‘ emerged from the shadows to capture The Endeavour Lite title, earning ₹2.67 Lakhs. ‘FantasticMrFish,’ a relative newcomer, put up a strong fight but had to settle for the runner-up spot, taking home ₹1.74 Lakhs – their fourth-best score on PokerBaazi. This impressive performance, along with a deep run in The Endeavour, brought their total winnings for Tuesday to almost ₹1.96 Lakhs!

Over on Adda52, Joy Debnath made a splash with a stunning debut, winning The Mint for ₹2.66 Lakhs in his first-ever MTT on the platform. Runner-up Vikhyat Ahlawat, a wildcard pick for the Goa Gators in the recent Pocket52 PSL Season 6, was looking to end a two-month title drought after 11 final table finishes. He had to settle for second place and ₹1.95 Lakhs. However, with another podium finish in Adda52’s MMA PKO (8-Max) and four deep runs on PokerBaazi, Ahlawat still managed to rake in almost ₹2.72 Lakhs in total winnings for the day.

Young Gun Shardul Parthasarathi, the all-time biggest winner on Junglee Poker, was also busy racking up the wins. Fresh off his victory in Pocket52’s (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo and a runner-up finish in Pocket Kings, he returned to his favourite stomping ground and won the Tuesday Phoenix for ₹1.35 Lakhs. With three deep runs across different platforms, his total winnings for the day soared past ₹2.20 Lakhs. Mayank Maruka, after finishing runner-up in Monday’s Spartan Poker Supreme, found himself in a familiar position, taking second place in the Tuesday Phoenix for ₹75,951. He also made deep runs in three other events, boosting his total Tuesday winnings to over ₹1.20 Lakhs.

‘validcart_gbxgq’ triumphed in Pocket52’s Pocket Bullets, adding ₹1.77 Lakhs to their bankroll.

PokerBaazi veteran ‘pyaar,’ fresh off winning the Daily Morning SPRINT last week, took down the Daily Last Chance for ₹1.53 Lakhs after a heads-up deal – their second-biggest score on PokerBaazi and their 13th win on the platform this year! Deepender Singh Ahlawat, the 2022 The Moneymaker champion, finished as the runner-up, earning ₹1.40 Lakhs from the deal. He accumulated ₹1.51 Lakhs in total winnings, a welcome boost after a tough year-long downswing.

Over on Pocket52, Young Gun Arsh Grover dominated the (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo, taking home ₹1.18 Lakhs. This win is his second-best score on the platform and his first victory in over two weeks. Meanwhile, Rahul Kumar, the charismatic poker streamer, almost completed a hat trick of streamed wins, finishing runner-up in the same event for ₹82,550, all while providing top-notch entertainment for his viewers with his live gameplay!

Tuesday’s action also saw victories for Akash Arora, Yash Jaiswal, and Manish Jangid in other marquee events.

The Indian online poker scene is exploding, and PokerBaazi is leading the charge with its incredible tournaments and massive guarantees that are attracting players from every corner of the country. Even with the ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online on the horizon, the action is already red-hot. Tuesday night was a prime example, with the ₹50 Lakhs GTD The Endeavour drawing a guarantee-crushing field that included some of the biggest names in Indian poker. But in the end, an unexpected hero emerged as the champion: Prem ‘lastbluff’ Chand Gope.

Now, Gope isn’t a household name in the poker world. He’s been grinding away in the small to mid-stakes tournaments since 2022, a casual player who seems to just enjoy the game. He was the quintessential underdog, someone you wouldn’t expect to find battling for a major title. But on this particular Tuesday, something extraordinary happened. In a single night, he transformed from an under-the-radar grinder to a PokerBaazi legend.

The 8 PM showstopper, one of the highlights of PokerBaazi`s weekly tournament schedule, attracted a staggering 1,050 entries (599 unique). Everyone was gunning for the title, and the competition was fierce. It was a whirlwind of aggressive plays, clever strategies, and tense moments. But amidst all the chaos, Gope quietly made his move. And after an epic eight-hour battle, the unthinkable happened. Gope, the unassuming grinder, claimed his first-ever flagship title, winning a staggering ₹6.57 Lakhs after a three-way deal! This wasn’t just any win; it was a personal best for Gope, one that significantly boosted his overall winnings on the platform. It was a victory that redefined his poker journey and showed everyone that even the most unexpected players can rise to the top.

Prem Chand Gope’s PokerBaazi stats: Site Winnings: ₹57.20 Lakhs | Site Winnings: ₹9.92 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #3

The action-packed finale had its share of drama, with ‘AvenueA’ – a familiar name on PokerBaazi since May 2018 – also putting on a show. They were chasing their first-ever title on the platform, and they played with incredible determination. They fought tooth and nail, but they fell just short in the end, finishing as the runner-up. Still, they walked away with a hefty ₹5.27 Lakhs thanks to the three-way deal, their biggest score on PokerBaazi yet, offsetting nearly half of their previous losses in one fell swoop.

Another player who made waves was Dhirendra ‘dhiru91’ Kumar, a former Spartan Poker FTS Big Game champion from 2020. He last made our radar with a podium finish in the IPM#10 Turbo in August but had been playing less frequently recently. Kumar was hungry for his first title of the year and came incredibly close. Despite a valiant effort, he finished in third place, taking home a site-best ₹4.84 Lakhs as part of the deal, also his best score this year.

The Endeavour Lite – ₹15 Lakhs GTD

Prize Pool – ₹17,45,000

The PokerBaazi scene is buzzing, and it seems like every day, someone is writing their own chapter in the ever-growing legend of the platform. Last night, the Delhi poker star ‘Treys‘ made headlines with a dominant performance in the ₹15 Lakhs GTD The Endeavour Lite. This isn’t some newcomer we’re talking about – ‘Treys’ has already racked up over ₹1.40 Crores in winnings and over ₹20 Lakhs in pure profit on PokerBaazi. With this latest victory, their 14th title of the year, they’re solidifying their position as a true force to be reckoned with.

‘Treys’ has been a fixture on PokerBaazi for over a year, grinding it out at all levels and earning a reputation as a fearsome competitor. And it’s not just talk – they’ve got the hardware to prove it, too, with both an NPS gold and silver medal already in their trophy case this year. 2024 has been a banner year for ‘Treys,’ with six remarkable victories in April alone. They narrowly missed The Endeavour Lite title in May with a runner-up finish, followed by a podium finish in The Quest, proving their ability to consistently go deep in the toughest tournaments.

But ‘Treys’ is more than just a skilled player; they’re a fighter. Every time they faced a setback, they came back stronger. They kept the momentum going with a string of final table appearances, finally breaking through for a well-deserved victory in the Daily Last Chance in July. Even a brief downswing couldn’t keep them down. They roared back with two runner-up finishes in The Summit Lite and the WTF in October and started November with another runner-up finish in The Pride. It was clear that another big win was just around the corner.

That win came last night. ‘Treys’ entered the 7:30 PM flagship event with a fire in their eyes. The Endeavour Lite was no walk in the park – a packed field of 698 entries (396 unique) meant the competition was fierce. But ‘Treys’ didn’t flinch. They battled for over six hours, navigating a minefield of raises, bluffs, and all-ins with incredible skill and precision. When the dust settled, ‘Treys’ stood triumphant, claiming the title and their second-biggest score on the platform – a well-deserved ₹2.67 Lakhs earned through a combination of raw talent, strategy, and a little bit of that poker magic. The legend of ‘Treys’ continues to grow, and the poker world is taking notice.

Treys’s PokerBaazi stats: Site Winnings: ₹1.44 Crores | Site Profits: ₹22.50 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #14

But ‘Treys’ wasn’t the only story of the night. Enter the mysterious ‘FantasticMrFish,’ a relative newcomer to PokerBaazi who has been making quite a splash in their short time on the platform (just over two months). Throughout November, ‘FantasticMrFish’ seemed to be a permanent fixture at final tables, racking up an incredible 14 in total. This incredible run continued into December with a podium finish in The Big Show. They were knocking on the door of victory, but the top spot remained just out of reach.

Undeterred, ‘FantasticMrFish’ jumped back into the fray last night in The Endeavour Lite. They fought hard, even firing two bullets (re-entering the tournament after an early exit), but ultimately fell short, finishing as the runner-up. Still, this impressive run earned them ₹1.74 Lakhs – their fourth-best score on PokerBaazi to date. And to top it off, ‘FantasticMrFish’ also made a deep run in The Endeavour, bringing their total winnings for Tuesday to almost ₹1.96 Lakhs!

With a buy-in of ₹2,875, The Endeavour Lite was a smash hit, crushing its guarantee to create a mouthwatering ₹17.45 Lakhs prize pool. The top 111 finishers all walked away with a piece of the pie, with a minimum payout of ₹6,282. This mysterious player, a veteran of the PokerBaazi MTT scene since October 2018, recently stepped back into the spotlight after taking down the Daily Morning SPRINT last Tuesday. Last night, they battled for over six hours against a field of seasoned pros and hungry newcomers, proving that experience and determination can be a powerful combination. ‘pyaar’ walked away with a handsome ₹1.53 Lakhs payday after a heads-up deal – their second-biggest score ever on PokerBaazi and their 13th win on the platform this year!

Meanwhile, Deepender ‘PINAKA’ Singh Ahlawat, a former The Moneymaker champion from 2022, was looking to end a nearly 2.5-month-long title drought. Known for his impressive third-place finish in the #28 The Moneymaker in April and coming off a runner-up finish in The Endeavour Lite (from a three-way deal) last week, Ahlawat was hoping to finally capture the victory he’d been working towards. Despite a strong performance, Ahlawat fell just short of the win, finishing as the runner-up. He still walked away with a respectable ₹1.40 Lakhs from the heads-up deal.

Junglee Poker’s ₹7.50 Lakhs GTD Tuesday Phoenix erupted last night, living up to its fiery name by scorching past its guarantee. A packed field of 260 challengers crammed into the 8 PM marquee event, and the action was so hot that it burned for over 8.5 hours.

Leading the charge was none other than Shardul ‘icehunt35703711’ Parthasarathi, a name that sends shivers down the spines of his opponents. This Young Gun isn’t just a respected pro and coach; he’s a legend in the making. He’s the same enigmatic force who crushed the ₹1.50 Crore GTD Azadi Series Main Event in August, a victory that etched his name in the record books as Junglee Poker’s all-time biggest winner. Fresh off a trip to APT Phu Quoc 2024, Parthasarathi has returned to the online felt with a renewed fire in his belly.

The online poker world is a ruthless jungle. Fortunes are won and lost in the blink of an eye, and reputations are forged in the fires of high-stakes battles. It’s a game where experience reigns supreme, where the veterans, with their years of hard-fought battles and accumulated wisdom, usually call the shots. But every so often, a new predator emerges, a fresh face ready to shake things up and challenge the old guard. Last night, on Adda52, that predator was Joy ‘metalstar730’ Debnath.

Adda52’s Tuesday flagship tournament, the ₹14 Lakhs The Mint, attracted a formidable field of 172 players (325 total entries). Amongst the familiar faces and renowned sharks, Debnath was a complete unknown. This wasn’t a player with a string of past victories or a reputation preceding them. In fact, before this, Debnath had only played a single ₹20 heads-up sit & go on the platform (which he won) before vanishing into the digital ether.

But last night, he reappeared with a vengeance. In the early stages of the 8 PM flagship, Debnath played a patient game. He was like a panther stalking its prey, carefully observing the field packed with some of the biggest names in Indian poker. He wasn`t flashy; he wasn’t aggressive; he was steadily building a stack, picking spots with deadly accuracy. As the tournament went on and the final table loomed, people started to take notice. Who was this mysterious player who was quietly dismantling the competition?

After a marathon seven hours and 20 minutes of intense play, Debnath did the impossible. He took down the whole thing in his first-ever MTT on Adda52, winning the title and a striking ₹2.66 Lakhs. It was a stunning debut, a performance that left everyone wondering where this player had come from and what they might do next.

Joy Debnath`s Adda52 stats: Site Winnings: ₹2.66 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹2.62 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #1

But this victory was made even more impressive by the sheer quality of the opposition. Vikhyat ‘hazard57’ Ahlawat, a true poker all-rounder and a force to be reckoned with in any format, was on a mission to end a two-month title drought. Ahlawat, who was a wildcard pick for the Goa Gators in the recent Pocket52 PSL Season 6, is a constant presence at final tables. Since his last win in PokerBaazi’s Daily Super Value in September, he’s been consistently racking up deep runs, including 11 final tables with a sixth-place finish in PokerBaazi’s BSS Superstack just last Sunday. He came into The Mint hungry for a win, and for a while, it looked like he might just get it. But despite his best efforts and years of experience, he had to settle for second place and a ₹1.95 Lakhs consolation prize.

Vikhyat Ahlawat
Vikhyat Ahlawat

The Pocket52 tables were ablaze last night, but amidst the fiery chaos, one player stood out: Young Gun Arsh ‘BigggTymeR’ Grover. This poker prodigy from Delhi isn’t just a perennial Player of the Year contender; he’s also one of the most accomplished online MTT players in India, with over ₹18 Crores in tracked winnings. And last night, he added another notch to his belt!

Grover took down Pocket52’s ₹5 Lakhs GTD (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo, battling through a crowd of 259 other players (370 total entries)) in a nearly seven-hour marathon. He outplayed the competition with his signature flair, clinching the 7 PM marquee title for a sweet ₹1.18 Lakhs payday after firing three bullets. This win marks his second-best score on the platform and his first victory in over two weeks since his PokerBaazi (6-Max) BSS SPRINT takedown last month.

Arsh Grover’s online stats (excluding Pocket52, Natural8 India and Junglee Poker): Lifetime Winnings: ₹18.68 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹7.53 Crores | Titles Won in 2024: #7 | Annual Winnings: ₹2 Crores | Annual Profits: ₹46.48 Lakhs

While Grover was busy stacking another title, Rahul ‘rahulskul’ Kumar, the ever-popular poker streamer, was making his own waves in the (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo. Kumar is known for his high-energy live streams and his sharp poker skills, and he seems to have found the winning formula for crushing tournaments on stream. He’s been on an absolute tear lately, winning the GPP#53 Sunday Special Knockout and Sunday Special Knockout on Junglee Poker back-to-back in just three weeks and even grabbing a podium finish in Pocket52’s (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo – all while streaming live on his YouTube channel for his fans to enjoy.

Last night, he almost pulled off a hat trick of streamed victories, putting on another show for his virtual rail. With two entries, Kumar had a real shot at taking down the (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo live on stream, and he came incredibly close. He improved on his previous podium finish in this 7 PM marquee from a few weeks ago, finishing second for a site-best ₹82,550. Whether he’s at the poker table or in front of the camera, Rahul continues to entertain and impress.

The (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo also saw solid performances from other familiar faces like Harsha ‘hashtagpo’ Dhanani (4th for ₹39,300) and recent Pocket Kings finalist Aritra ‘salazar’ Hazra (5th for ₹29,500).

With a buy-in of ₹2,000, the (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo smashed its guarantee, generating a substantial ₹6.43 Lakhs prize pool. The competition was tough, but the top 27 finishers all walked away with a share of the spoils, each taking home at least ₹5,250 – over 2.5 times the initial buy-in. Pocket52 is quickly becoming a favourite among poker players, and with action like this, it’s easy to see why.
