The 11th edition of the IOPC also closed out its IOPC Masters Table last night with the mystery user ‘Pradzzz’ clinching the second ‘The Mastermind’ title.

The ranked #1 player of 2020 Young Gun Gaurav Sood was the day`s top scorer as he shipped the APT#22 Championship Event for ₹12.06 Lakhs, also winning the APT Championship Ring and the APT Trophy. Sumit Sapra placed runner-up for ₹8.46 Lakhs.

Here are the Wednesday highlights!

Spartan Poker

The 11th edition of the IOPC is finally in the rear-view mirror. Spartan Poker promoted it as the country’s biggest-ever tournament series. And the player turnouts didn’t disappoint, with the 22-day-long series logging in a staggering 1,26,000+ entries across all events, distributing a whopping ₹33+ Crores in prize money!

Things went down the wire in an exciting finale, with champions of the six marquee events and the IOPC leaderboard topper convening for the IOPC Masters Table SNG Finale last evening.

The Masters’ Table featured –

> Vaibhav Temani: IOPC #138 – The Crown champion

> Avadh Shah IOPC PLO Highroller champion

> Amit Gehani – IOPC Legends champion

> Mohit Bhati – IOPC Highroller champion

> Piyush Jain – IOPC #92 United champion

> ‘Pradzzz’ – IOPC #117 Super Highroller champion

> Anuj Yadav – IOPC All Rounder SNG, IOPC Leaderboard topper

Outrunning this group of champions was the mystery player ‘Pradzzz,’ who cemented their win following a long-drawn roller-coaster heads-up battle against Avadh Shah. The tournament’s final hand saw ‘Pradzzz’ crack Shah’s aces with his nine-trey of clubs completing a flush on the runout. The victory made ‘Pradzzz’ the second ‘The Mastermind,’ after the January edition IOPC – Master’s Table champion, Aniket Waghmare, fetching them a much-sought-after Mastermind Trophy.

Avadh Shah

Anuj Yadav, who was the only player at the series to win five titles, including the IOPC #34 Friday Prime, IOPC #56 All Rounder, IOPC #64, IOPC #79 Friday Prime, and IOPC #125 All Rounder, entered the Masters Table with the advantage of 1.5X the starting stack. However, the Young Gun, who was unstoppable throughout the series, could not ride his chip lead to the finish line and became the fourth player to be eliminated after Amit Gehani, Piyush Jain, and Vaibhav Temani. Yadav’s exit left only three players in the field, and Mohit Bhati was the next player to fall, setting up a thrilling heads-up finale between ‘Pradzzz’ and Avadh Shah.

You can watch the replay of the FT live stream below, with commentary by IPC Director Peter Abraham, Goonjan Mall, Young Gun Kanchan Sharma, and bracelet winner Aditya Sushant.

Spartan Poker’s Wednesday flagship, Destiny, returned last night after a three-week IOPC-induced hiatus and offered a ₹23 Lakhs prize pool guarantee. A turnout of 530 entries ensured the advertised guarantee got blown away with a prize pool collection of ₹26.50 Lakhs (over 15% more than advertised). Making her way past the competition was Kanchan ‘Midge Maisel’ Sharma, who ended a five-week title drought to pocket a career-best ₹7.02 Lakhs prize. IOPC – Masters Table – Spartan Poker

The just-concluded IOPC witnessed the Masters Table SNG Finale play down to a winner last night. The SNG featured six marquee tournament winners, the IOPC Leaderboard topper, and the IOPC – All Rounder SNG champion. But with Young Gun Anuj Yadav walking away with the bragging rights for the last two, there were only seven competitors for the top spot, and the 25-year-old Yadav got a 1.5X starting stack.

The play culminated short of three hours, with the IOPC #117 Super Highroller champion ‘Pradzzz’ walking away with the Mastermind Trophy.

IOPC Legends champion Amit Gehani was the first player to fall.

Anuj Yadav continued his dominion for a while even as ‘Pradzzz,’ Bhati, and Temani chipped up.

‘Pradzzz’ won a sizable pot thru Temani, forcing the latter to fold queen-king that had flopped top pair against his pocket sevens.

Fifty-three minutes into the final table, IOPC #92 United champion Piyush ‘jacks_apart’ Jain was booted out by Avadh Shah in sixth place. Jain held ace-queen but Shah won the flip with pocket tens.

‘Pradzzz’ soon took over the chip lead and consolidated their position by eliminating the IOPC – The Crown winner Vaibhav ‘AllinPavBhaji’ Temani. His pocket tens got the better of Temani`s ace-six.

In under 30 minutes, the IOPC Leaderboard topper Young Gun Anuj ‘titooTauji’ Yadav was unceremoniously dispatched by ‘Pradzzz.’ Yadav moved all-in with on the river on the boatrd . ‘Pradzzz’ called with to eliminate Yadav.

‘Pradzzz’ next took out the IOPC Highroller champion Mohit ‘jacktheripper’ Bhati with pocket jacks vs. Bhati`s ace-seven.

The heads-up between ‘Pradzzz’ and IOPC PLO Highroller champion Avadh ‘cateyes’ Shah looked like a one-sided affair with ‘Pradzzz’ holding a monster stack of 104,503 versus Shah’s 7,997. But Shah fought valiantly and even took over the chip lead for a while in the next 75 minutes. However, ‘Pradzzz’ eventually took it down with his rivered set of jacks vs. Shah’s queen-four.
