Wednesday`s livewire action was spearheaded by Spartan Poker’s Grand Poker Series with Young Gun Gaurav Sood emerging as the day’s biggest winner!
Here’s a complete recap of the action!
Spartan Poker
Spartan Poker’s signature Wednesday tourney, the ₹30 Lakhs GTD GPS#28 Destiny, logged in 613 entries yesterday, to collect a profitable ₹30.65 Lakhs in the prize pool. After a little over seven hours and a half hours of play, Young Gun Gaurav ‘mozzie17’ Sood held all the chips in the game to book a ₹7.96 Lakhs payday along with a seat in the Destiny 16.0 SnG Finale. Vaibhav ‘Nikka Zaildar’ Sharma finished runner-up for ₹4.90 Lakhs.
Sood is the undisputed #1 ranked player on the yearly leaderboard, a distinction that he has held onto for 21 consecutive weeks. He had won the GPS The Millionaire United on Sunday, and last night, he added another GPS title to his name by taking down the Destiny – the second time this year, he has championed this tourney. With this win, Sood has crossed ₹3.62 Crores in recorded earnings for 2020 and ₹5.79 Crores in lifetime winnings. Looking at the way he is going, it’s improbable anyone will be able to catch him this year.
The other big-ticket tourney on the site, the ₹5.25 Lakhs GTD GPS#30 Monster Stack, attracted 621 hopefuls to post a guarantee-crushing ₹6.21 Lakhs prize pool. After six hours of play, the 11 PM tourney awarded ‘HellBlazer’ the ₹1.08 Lakhs first-place cash prize. ‘Notorious konvictt’ finished runner-up for ₹75,954.
PokerStars India
PokerStars India’s Wednesday flagship, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Night on Stars, attracted 318 contenders to accumulate a ₹5.06 Lakhs prize pool. After close to eight hours of play, ‘J500PC’ was the last player standing in the tourney and won ₹81,651 following a heads-up deal with Myron ‘khAAbib’ Pereira, who banked a better ₹83,046.
The win secured ‘J500PC’ the top spot on PokerStar India’s newly launched leaderboard race – “Star Of the Month.” The player had finished runner-up in the Eliminator on Monday.
Myron Pereira has been unrelenting in his form, and last night again, he FT-ed two tourneys. Besides his runner-up finish in Night in Stars, he also placed sixth in Spartan Poker’s GPS#29 – Mega Freeze for ₹22,873. Pereira`s breakout run has seen him accumulating over ₹1.61 Cores in 2020 already. He recently crossed the ₹2 Crore-mark in lifetime earnings, and his current tally reflects ₹2.02 Crores in recorded winnings.
The other ₹5 Lakhs GTD tourney on PokerStars India, the Big Bubble Rush, played out amid 175 runners, to post an overlay of ₹62,500. ‘nikita091997’ championed the tourney to win ₹1.07 Lakhs (including bounties), following a three-way deal with ‘raghav1990’ (runner-up for ₹58,324) and ‘sumitm74’ (3rd for ₹47,149).
The ₹50K GTD Play For A Cause – ‘United Way of Chennai’ Charity Special attracted 60 entries to post an overlay of ₹33,500. The mystery player ‘PepperChicken’ took down the title for ₹10,069 after a four-way deal with ‘rkrohan@&’ (2nd for ₹8,976), ‘getsetgo666’ (3rd for ₹8,600), and ‘kalkiom’ (4th for ₹8,521).
PokerBaazi
The day`s headline tourney on PokerBaazi was the ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Pride. Sporting a ₹3,300 entry buy-in, the event registered 317 entries to witness a deficit of ₹49,000. Following around seven hours of play, Vinay ‘Vinstill’ Bk was the last player standing and won ₹2.21 Lakhs after defeating Ritwik ‘Ritwikkhanna’ Khanna (runner-up for ₹1.55 Lakhs) in the heads-up play. This happens to be Vinay`s third title on the site in the last month, pushing his online record to ₹2.35 Crores.
The ₹3 Lakhs GTD Wednesday SuperStack also booked a loss as a turnout of 134 entries resulted in a ₹32,000 shortfall. ‘Blackdragon’ championed the tourney to win the ₹80,400 up-top, with ‘jat777’ finishing runner-up for ₹56,310.
Adda52
Adda52`s ₹1 Crore GTD Full House commenced its run on Wednesday, with the first of its six starting flights bringing in 134 entries (82 unique and 52 re-entries). Starting at 7 PM, Adda52 ran 29 ten-minute levels, by which time, only 13 players were left in the field. Young Gun Devang ‘spark123’ Yadav bagged the most massive stack of the day with 350,008, followed by Rajesh ‘phanthom’ Singh (327,890) and ‘harsh20’ (309,823).
Running alongside the Full House was Adda52`s signature Wednesday tourney, the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Maverick. The ₹2,500 entry buy-in tourney clocked in 587 entries to experience a shortfall of ₹1.64 Lakhs. After eight hours of play, Sanket ‘cowboy12’ Jain came out on top to win ₹3.46 Lakhs for the outright victory. The mystery user ‘40chor’ finished runner-up for ₹2.54 Lakhs.
Jain has an enviable record on the site and had finished runner-up in the ₹2 Crores GTD AOPS ME Finale for ₹26 Lakhs in May. Last night`s score has sent his online record soaring to ₹50.1 Lakhs.
Like the Maverick, even the brand-new ₹4 Lakhs GTD La Luna had to fill in a ₹22,800 shortfall on the back of 230 entries. Online reg ‘Lokimon’ clinched the title to win ₹99,450 even as the former IOPC Millionaire Main Event champion Anurag ‘NormanBates’ Srivastava finished runner-up for ₹74,350, after a heads-up deal.
