After a brief lull in online action, the storm has begun! With Spartan Poker’s Grand Poker Series (GPS), and the Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) running neck to neck, tournament action was intense last night. Here is the complete recap of Thursday`s action.

Spartan Poker

The second edition of the GPS is underway, and the biggest tournament on the Thursday schedule was the ₹50 Lakhs GTD GPS #19 High Roller. The ₹27,500 buy-in tourney began at 8 PM and registered 228 entries by the time late registrations got over, collecting a ₹57 Lakhs prize pool. After more than seven hours of battle, ‘RangeMerge‘ held the title and the seven-figure score of ₹13.25 Lakhs. The mystery player rode past several prominent pros, including their heads-up rival Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall (runner-up for ₹8.97 Lakhs). Their winnings on Spartan Poker are now at ₹35.44 Lakhs, with a profit of ₹17.60 Lakhs.

Mall was the other standout performer yesterday. Along with his runner-up finish in the GPS High Roller, he collected another ₹2.12 Lakhs for his third-place finish in PokerBaazi’s ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Summit. With ₹4.59 Crores in recorded online winnings, Mall is closing in on the ₹5 Crore-mark!

The other prominent FT finishers in the GPS High Roller were Armaan ‘space ace’ Kochhar (3rd for ₹5.98 Lakhs), Ramji Kishore ‘bluffpolice123’ G (4th for ₹4.90 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘Donkey 07’ Munot (5th for ₹3.93 Lakhs), Raghav ‘thatssosick’ Bansal (7th for ₹2.25 Lakhs) & Young Gun Anuj ‘tittooTauji’ Yadav (8th for ₹1.65 Lakhs).

While Kumar’s most prominent online cash remains the ₹11.67 Lakhs he’d won in the SSS #40 Destiny in May, his online winnings have touched ₹1.54 Crores.

In the ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD GPS #20 Monster Stack, ‘shar88’ conquered the 504-player field to clinch the title for ₹1.96 Lakhs.

Spartan’s latest tournament offering, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Velocity, played out its penultimate flight on Thursday. Day 1C added 424 entries to the field, and by the time the dust settled, only 36 players were able to bag chipsfor Day 2. Leading the charge was ‘Dreamkrusher’ (194,264), with PokerGuru Ambassador Naresh ‘FreeFlow’ Veeravalli (190,852) and ‘Name Chod Game Dikha’ (152,742) in hot pursuit.

PokerBaazi

PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘Nutpeddling729’ Singh was on a roll last night. In addition to winning Adda52’s ₹30 Lakhs GTD AOPS Godfather for ₹7.05 Lakhs, Singh almost mounted PokerBaazi’s ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Summit. Singh couldn’t convert the opportunity to a second title as seasoned pro Raman ‘ifryu’ Gujral defeated him heads-up to win ₹4.71 Lakhs. Nonetheless, the runner-up prize worth ₹3.30 Lakhs, took Singh`s score for the night into seven-figures.

Gautam M8a7’ Rohilla was the other big winner on the site. He came out on top of 169 entries in the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Thursday Monster Stack, denying his heads-up rival PokerGuru Ambassador Jayjit ‘england’ Ray the title and the ₹1.24 Lakhs up-top prize money. Adda52

The August edition of the Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) is on, but the excitement wasn’t enough for the site’s Thursday flagship, the ₹30 Lakhs GTD AOPS Godfather to crush the guarantee. Nonetheless, with 600 sign ups which included 323 unique players and 277 re-entries, the event just about broke even, collecting exactly ₹30 Lakhs in prize money! The action began at 8 PM, and it wasn’t until 5 AM today that the dust settled. Walking away with the top honors and a fat payday worth ₹7.05 Lakhs was PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘Vivek945540’ Singh.

Singh was at his winning best last night, and he defeated Avadh ‘cateyes’ Shah(runner-up for ₹4.11 Lakhs) heads-up in the Godfather. Taking his runner-up score in PokerBaazi’s The Summit into account, his online record has reached ₹3.96 Crores!

The list included Alok ‘apb1989’ Birewar (3rd for ₹2.73 Lakhs), Hitesh ‘buntai’ Batra (4th for ₹2.10 Lakhs), Myron ‘zzzzz369’ Pereira (5th for ₹1.50 Lakhs), Rohit ‘ikkatikka’ Setia (6th for ₹1.05 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh ‘boomtilt23’ Pal Singh (7th for ₹82,500), Sandeep ‘effuno’ Varma RS (8th for ₹60,000) and Shagun ‘sogani94’ Jain (9th for ₹45,000).

The Delhi-based pro raced past a field of 184 entries and a final table infested with formidable opponents to eventually meet Sreekanth ‘n0thing’ Narayan in the heads-up. The duo finally reached a deal that saw Jain claim the title for ₹6 Lakhs, with Narayan finishing second for ₹5.13 Lakhs. The ₹15,000 buy-in event fell one entry short of meeting its guarantee.

With the weekend approaching, the ₹1 Crore GTD AOPS Mini Main Event has begun proceedings. Day 1A played out last night, registering 260 hopefuls to its fold.
