Friday marked the start of the weekend, and the virtual felts were set ablaze with action. Spartan Poker`s Freezeout Master Series was hands down the star attraction of the day.
The much talked about ₹1 Million Dan Bilzerian Freeroll is here and slated to begin at 8 PM tonight on BLITZPOKER! Apart from the juicy cash prizes, the freeroll winner will ride home in a shiny new Harley Davidson Street 750. Spartan Poker
The Freezeout Master Series is heading towards a grand finale, and Friday marked the start of the ₹50 Lakhs GTD FMS Main Event. Day 1A of the ₹11,000 buy-in event attracted 126 entrants, and only 21 players survived the opening day`s play. MTT crusher Anuj ‘tittooTauji’ Yadav bagged the end of day chip lead with 220,551 in the bag. Rounding out the top three stacks were ‘McFly’ (220,297) and Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma (213,083).
Running alongside the FMS Main Event was the ₹25 Lakhs GTD FMS #9 Highroller that gathered a player pool of 113 entries who ponied up the ₹22,000 buy-in. The event suffered an overlay of ₹2.40 Lakhs, and the top 15 places benefitted from the value on offer. It took more than eight hours for the event to culminate. In the end, former SSS The Millionaire X5 champion Abhishek ‘PoeticInjustice’ Gubba pipped cash game pro Akanksha ‘HashBrownie’ Singh heads-up to win the ₹6.38 Lakhs first-place cash prize. Singh, on the other hand, pocketed a personal-best ₹4.40 Lakhs for her runner-up finish.
Gubba made a second FT on Friday, placing seventh in Adda52’s The Ballers for ₹75,000. With ₹7+ Lakhs in winnings last night, he is just ₹1.50 Lakhs shy of touching the ₹1 Crore mark in recorded earnings!
The ₹12 Lakhs GTD TGIF was championed by ‘Legendback’ who collected ₹2.31 Lakhs after eliminating Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall (runner-up for ₹1.45 Lakhs) in second place. The ₹1,650 buy-in event logged in 782 entries to register an overlay of ₹27,000.
Day 1D of the 10 Lakhs GTD Velocity logged in 327 entrants, and topping the 39 survivors was Abhiroop ‘Ron007’ Gupta (129,844).
PokerBaazi
The most prominent winner on PokerBaazi turned out to be the site`s former Team Mentor Jasven ‘JasvenSaigal’ Saigal. The Mumbai-based pro shipped the ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Ridge to win ₹2.21 Lakhs. ‘hungryanimal’ finished runner-up for ₹1.55 Lakhs. The ₹3,300 buy-in event saw 270 participants that resulted in a substantial ₹1.90 Lakhs (19% of posted guarantee) shortfall.

Day 1B of the ₹1 Crore GTD Full House attracted 255 entries who signed up for ₹5,500. After the stipulated 29 levels of play, only 29 players made the cut for Day 2 with Avinash ‘aksinha97’ Kumar leading the charge with a stack of 266,881. MTT regs Sreekanth ‘n0thing’ Narayan (221,590), and Bharat ‘rungooserun’ Vasan (211,750) rounded out the top three stacks of the day.
The ₹25 Lakhs GTD The Ballers logged in 353 participants who ponied the ₹7,500 buy-in to leave a shortfall of ₹81,950. The top 38 places earned a payout, and collecting the fattest paycheck worth ₹6.25 Lakhs was well-known MTT pro Deepak ‘bothras’ Bothra. He prevailed over ‘foldkardunga’ (runner-up for ₹3.78 Lakhs) in the heads-up to win the title.
The ₹4 Lakhs GTD Moonlight found a winner in ‘AmliDiPeenak’ who walked away with ₹87,739 in prize money after defeating ‘myeshu’ (runner-up for ₹82,435) in the heads-up.

PokerStars India`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut MAGIC Edition pulled in 244 entrants who paid the ₹4,400 buy-in to leave a marginal overlay of ₹24,000. It took the banker-turned-poker pro Kunal ‘iAlwaysHaveIt’ Patni seven hours to make it to the top and his efforts fructified into a ₹1.77 Lakhs payday. MTT crusher and the #3 ranked player on the annual rankings, Anant ‘Dr4gonW4rrior’ Purohit, finished runner-up for ₹1.02 Lakhs while the #2 ranked player this year, Srihari Bang, placed third for ₹69,936.
The ₹5 Lakhs Friday Euphoria clocked 170 entries, which resulted in an overlay of 75,000, and the top 29 places got paid. After almost six hours of play, the winner emerged in ‘yash1805,’ who netted ₹73,383 following a three-way deal with ‘pranay1245’ (2nd for 70,129), ‘shanghai2710’ (3rd for 75,849).

Adding to the Day 1A numbers, the event has collected 506 entries so far. Only 29 players could bag chips for Day 2, and carrying the biggest stack forward was Avinash ‘aksinha97’ Kumar (266,881). MTT regs Sreekanth ‘n0thing’ Narayan (221,590), Bharat ‘rungooserun’ Vasan (211,750) rounded out the top three stacks on Day 1B.

The biggest buy-in tourney of the FMS series, the ₹22,000 buy-in FMS#9 – Highroller, ran with a ₹25 Lakhs prize pool guarantee on Friday. The event had 113 runners in contention, but it wasn’t enough to avoid an overly, and the site had to fill in a deficit of ₹2.40 Lakhs.
Abhishek ‘PoeticInjustice’ Gubba obliterated the field, which included Akanksha ‘HashBrownie’ Singh heads-up, to claim a top prize worth ₹6.38 Lakhs. Singh took home and equally commendable ₹4.40 Lakhs for her runner-up finish.
With this win, Gubba now has ₹98.58 Lakhs in recorded winnings, ₹30.87 Lakhs of which he has won on Spartan Poker.
Meanwhile, Singh’s deep run in this tourney brought her a personal-best score, taking her lifetime tally to ₹18.98 Lakhs.
