IOPC#117 Super High Roller ₹1.40 Crore GTD – Spartan Poker
Buy-in – ₹1,05,000
Entries – 80
Re-entries – 34
Re-buys – 18
Prize Pool – ₹1,40,00,000
Places Paid – 17
The six finalists of the ₹1.40 Crore GTD IOPC#117 Super High Roller returned for the final table play at 5 PM on Friday. The stacked FT comprised of the likes of defending champion, Sreeharsha ‘Sygrayem’ Doddapaneni, former IOPC -The Crown champion Harshit ‘PokerinOlympics’ Sanghi, former Millionaire champion Rajat ‘NoPrisoners’ Sharma, Guneet ‘GeeKay’ Kwatra, and IOPC #92 Legends finalist Rajeev ‘AthenaVolt’ Kumar.
Cutting their way across the stiff competition was the mystery player ‘Pradzzz,’ who carried their chip lead all the way to the finish line, netting a whopping ₹35.22 Lakhs for the win. Guneet Kwatra finished runner-up for ₹23.80 Lakhs.
‘Pradzzz`s’ victory run was smooth. They had entered the final table with an overwhelming chip lead and kept the lead for most of the FT play. The heads-up with Guneet Kwatra went on longer than most would have expected. A seasoned MTT player who recently entered the ₹5 Crore Club (online winnings), Kwatra proved to be a formidable opponent and even took over the chips lead for a while during the heads-up match. Nevertheless, it was clearly ‘Pradzzz`s’ day as they eventually shipped the event to win their first recorded IOCP title, also becoming the fifth player to win a seat at the IOPC Masters Table!
The six-handed FT began at 5 PM and was streamed across various channels, including PokerGuru`s Facebook page, on an hour’s delay.
Rajeev ‘AthenaVolt’ Kumar, the oldest known player on the FT, found his tournament run cut abruptly by Pradzzz’ in sixth place. ‘Pradszz’ jammed on the turn with pocket queens, and Kumar off called with pocket sevens. The board blanked out.
Twenty-two minutes later, ‘Pradzzz’ found his second victim in former Millionaire champion, Rajat ‘NoPrisoner’ Sharma. Once again, the player was dealt pocket queens, and they got it in good against Sharma’s ace-eight.
The defending IOPC Super High Roller champion Sriharsha Doddapaneni’s run in the tourney was nothing short of impressive. He held the shortest stack coming into the final table but quickly doubled up through Rajat Sharma.
While ‘Pradzzz’ was busy adding to their stack, Harshit ‘PokerinOlympics’ Sanghi fell out in fourth place. The former IOPC – The Crown champion`s turned pair of fives were busted by Doddapaneni’s flopped aces.
Sriharsha ‘Sygrayem’ Doddapaneni scored a double-up, but his campaign to win the Super High Roller title back-to-back ended in third place. The MTT phenom moved all-in with cowboys, and Kwatra called him off with ace-ten. The latter got lucky after completing a jack-high straight on the board to set up the heads-up play.
‘Pradzzz’ held an overwhelming chip advantage over Guneet ‘GeeKay’ Kwatra at the start of the heads-up showdown, but Kwatra carefully bridged the gap. Both players were soon neck-to-neck. The duel latest almost forty minutes before ‘Pradzzz’ reclaimed the lead. ‘Pradzzz’ finally took down the title with their holding up against Kwatra’s on the runout .
