The online felts have been roaring with action, and Thursday night saw the virtual turf turn battleground for some popular classics. Spartan Poker led the charge with its Ultron ₹30 Lakhs GTD bringing in a massive 761 entries (402 unique, 152 re-entries, and 207 re-buys). The tournament was able to surpass its guarantee, collecting a ₹34.44 Lakhs prize pool. Well-known circuit reg Vivek ‘Pokerbatman27’ Rughani was in contention to win the title but lost the heads-up fight to ‘lol this guy. The anonymous player, who had championed the Big Daddy last Sunday, pocketed ₹6.60 Lakhs for the win, even as Rughani collected ₹4.14 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

Another big winner on the site was ‘GochujanG’ who topped a 359-strong field (192 unique, 41 re-entries and 126 rebuys) and struck a heads-up deal with Rajat ‘BloatedBelly’ Mahajan (runner-up for ₹1.06 Lakhs) to capture the Big Bounty ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD title for ₹1.58 Lakhs.

Over at Afternoon Showdown ₹6.5 Lakhs GTD, a player with the GOT moniker ‘SAMWELL TARLY’ outlasted a 289-player field (149 unique, 57 re-entries and 83 re-buys) to win ₹1.21 Lakhs after a near-even heads-up chop with two-time Millionaire champion Phanindra ‘k9akkin’ Akkina (runner-up for ₹1.19 Lakhs).

Others deserving special mention are Sumit ‘pleasedontbet’ Silwal and PokerGuru Ambassador Tathagata ‘RadioActivity’ Sengupta. Silwal won the Monster Stack ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.10 Lakhs, in addition to posting a final-table finish at the Night Rider ₹3 Lakhs GTD (4th for ₹27,155). Meanwhile, the Kolkata-based Sengupta conquered the UVS#28 Monster Stack ₹6 Lakhs GTD for ₹95,551 following a four-way deal with ‘RK0503’ (2nd for ₹87,522), Sailesh ‘saileshlohia’ Lohia (3rd for ₹78,614) and ‘whitewalker52’ (4th for ₹64,650).

PokerBaazi’s Thursday flagship Summit ₹15 Lakhs GTD logged in a field of 346 entries (174 unique and 172 re-entries) to blow the advertised guarantee out of the water. In fact, the final collection went well over ₹10 Lakhs beyond as the ultimate prize pool touched ₹25.95 Lakhs. Outlasting the competition was Harsh ‘100crdream’ Dembla, who beat out another online reg Armaan ‘Armaan007’ Kochhar heads-up to win ₹5.45 Lakhs. Kochhar collected ₹3.81 Lakhs for placing second. Incidentally, Dembla also final-tabled Adda52’s Hexagram ₹3 Lakhs GTD, where he finished fourth to earn a ₹33,660 payout.

The flagships smaller version, Summit Mini ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD, couldn`t generate the same kind of interest as its elder sibling. There was a significant ₹87,000 overlay in the tourney that could only muster 221 entries (122 unique and 99 re-entries). Trailblazing his way to the top was Shardul ‘duuurrrr’ Parthasarathi, who pierced through a reg-infested FT to win the title for ₹1.7 Lakhs following a heads-up deal with ‘Cappuchino’ (2nd for ₹1.24 Lakhs).

Adda52’s Thursday schedule was dominated by the Godfather ₹25 Lakhs GTD. With a 743-entry turnout – 381 unique players and 362 re-entries – the tourney rode well past the break-even mark to collect a very generous ₹37.15 Lakhs prize pool. An unknown player ‘vedikastephens’ came out on top of the field to win ₹8.54 Lakhs after defeating ‘jeff2706’ heads-up. The latter pocketed a runner-up payday of ₹4.90 Lakhs.

Several prominent players FTed the Godfather. Among them was Akash ‘profishnal’ Malik, who finished 3rd for ₹3.34 Lakhs. Shashank ‘felter’ Jain (4th for ₹2.52 Lakhs), and PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja (5th for ₹1.76 Lakhs) were two other top names on the FT. Both Jain and Ahuja have been in phenomenal form this week; for Jain, this was his fifth FT finish this week while Ahuja had FT`ed an incredible five online tourneys on Wednesday, making this his sixth FT finish in two days!

Another player who joined the winners club at Adda52 on Thursday was ‘Pok3rking’. The anonymous player outran 189 hopefuls (98 unique and 89 re-entries) to take down the Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.03 Lakhs.

PokerStars India, meanwhile, is hosting the second edition of the India Summer Championship of Online Poker (INSCOOP) that got underway on the India-facing site yesterday. All eyes are on the INSCOOP THE MAMMOTH ₹1 Crore GTD that features a ₹11,000 buy-in and plays down to a winner on May 24.

Thursday saw several INSCOOP tourneys run their course. The biggest of them was the Highroller ₹15 Lakhs GTD that, with 244 entries (135 unique and 109 re-entries), accrued a guarantee-smashing ₹17.08 Lakhs in prize money. It was ‘FLlPflops’ and Srihari ‘bangbang1999’ Bang, who crossed swords for the title. Eventually, the former prevailed to walk away with the ₹3.06 Lakhs top prize. Bang banked ₹2.26 Lakhs for his second-place finish. That’s not all! The top 10 finishers also won a free ticket to THE MAMMOTH!
