With the weekend rolling in, the virtual action on Friday was electrifying, and all the day`s headline tourneys ended up crushing their listed guarantees.
Grabbing the headlines was the former IOPC – The Crown champion Harshit Sanghi, who banked over ₹8.33 Lakhs for taking down Spartan Poker’s The Elite. Alok Birewar bagged Adda52’s The Ballers title for ₹5.96 Lakhs following a heads-up chop with Young Gun Siddharth Karia.
For the second consecutive day, two PokerGuru Ambassadors won titles. Last week`s The Weekly HighRoller winner Shashank Desai championed the tourney yet again for ₹4.43 Lakhs. He bagged a second title in the midnight special, ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD Turbo, for ₹55,620. Desai`s teammate Devvrat Arya took down PokerStars India’s Uppercut Magic Edition for ₹2.07 Lakhs.
Sanish Chhabra, Rising Star Ritwik Khanna, Mohak Kapoor, and Ankit Saurabh came out on top in the other Friday night marquees.

Spartan Poker’s weekend fiesta, the ₹1 Crore GTD Millionaire, completed its second starting flight on Friday. Day 1B gathered 354 participants, and only 53 survived the day`s play. The ₹5,500 entry buy-in event has already registered 686 entries (Day 1A – 332 and Day 1B – 354), with three more flights to go before Day 2 on Sunday (10 PM). Pranav ‘pranavpoker’ Khandalkar (281,787), ‘iPuntUCall’ (270,971), and Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall (195,919) were the top three names on the Day 1B survivor`s list.
The day`s featured tourney, the ₹35 Lakhs GTD The Elite, logged in 467 contestants, accumulating a whopping ₹46.7 Lakhs prize pool (over a third more than the listed guarantee). The 9:30 PM tourney went on for over eight hours before the former IOPC – The Crown champion Harshit ‘HeroCaller’ Sanghi and Sandeep ‘ChasingExcellence’ Bhatnagar shook hands on a heads-up deal to wrap up proceedings. Sanghi was awarded the title and a ₹8.33 Lakhs payday, while the latter secured the runner-up payout of ₹7.26 Lakhs.
The former Millionaire champion Sanghi’s The Elite score has helped him cross the ₹1 Crore in recorded earnings on Spartan Poker (₹58.03 Lakhs in site profits). The Kanpur-based entrepreneur now sits on ₹1.16 Crores in lifetime winnings (₹58.17 Lakhs in net profits).
Even the ₹880 entry buy-in ₹10 Lakhs GTD Futuristic crushed its prize pool guarantee easily, with a massive 1,643 entries (572 unique) generating a profitable ₹13.14 Lakhs prize pool. Like The Elite, here too, a former Millionaire champion Sanish ‘Sanish21’ Chhabra walked away with the title and a ₹1.93 Lakhs cash prize following a heads-up deal with Abhimanyu ‘IshqBector’ Mittal (runner-up for ₹1.91 Lakhs).
Sanish Chhabra placed third in Adda52’s Running Hot for ₹82,110, raking in over ₹2.75 Lakhs last night. With ₹1.99 Crores in lifetime winnings (53.24 Lakhs in net profits), he is within touching distance of entering the “₹2 Crore Club.

PokerStars India`s Friday headliner, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut Magic Edition, signed up 244 runners, falling six entries (₹24,000) short of breaking even. PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘bhasm@sur1’ Arya outlasted them all, winning the Uppercut title for the second time last night for ₹2.07 Lakhs (includes ₹1,19,563 in bounties). ‘lalanwa’ placed runner-up for ₹1.06 Lakhs (₹18,125 in bounties).
The PokerGuru Staking team member, Devvrat Arya, ran deep in two more events, banking almost ₹3 Lakhs on Friday. He sits on ₹5.40 Crores in lifetime earnings (₹1.26 Crores in net profits).
The ₹2 Lakhs GTD Classic PKO had a relatively more successful outing, with 179 entrants collecting a prize pool worth ₹2.68 Lakhs. PokerBaazi`s primetime ₹12 Lakhs GTD The Weekly HighRoller wrangled in 178 entries last night, and with each of them ponying up ₹11,000 to enter, a generous ₹17.80 Lakhs prize pool was formed (almost 50% more than the advertised guarantee). The 9 PM special, ₹1.50 Lakhs GTD Holdem Boost DST, logged in a smashing 319 entries, collecting ₹3.19 Lakhs in the prize pool, more than 2X its listed guarantee. Mohak ‘Tiltin’ Kapoor championed the tourney for the ninth time earlier today for ₹70,467. Shaan ‘kaamkaro’ Thadani placed runner-up for ₹49,445.

Adda52`s ₹22.5 Lakhs GTD The Ballers registered 418 entries, posting a guarantee-crushing ₹28.63 Lakhs prize pool. The February – Millionaire champion Alok ‘APB1989’ Birewar bagged the title, collecting ₹5.96 Lakhs for the win. Before taking down the tourney, Birewar chopped the up-top prize heads-up with the FTS 2.0 Main Event Champion, Young Gun Siddharth ‘skaria1’ Karia, who banked an equally impressive ₹5.44 Lakhs.
Alok Birewar now has ₹2.83 Crores in lifetime winnings (₹1.36 Crores in net profits). Siddharth Karia’s lifetime earnings have crossed ₹3.32 Crores (₹52.89 Lakhs in net profits).
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Running Hot brought in 391 runners, collecting ₹7.82 Lakhs in the prize pool. The 9:30 PM tourney came to a close at 4:08 AM, with Rising Star Ritwik ‘ritwik27’ Khanna coming out on top to win ₹1.94 Lakhs. The mystery reg ‘Mitsen’ finished runner-up for ₹1.17 Lakhs.
Ritwik Khanna was the second-biggest scorer on Thursday after fetching two runner-up scores, and speaking to us later, he confessed how he felt his heads-up game needed work. He dispelled those notions entirely last night. The Running Hot is Khanna’s second tourney title in May, boosting his lifetime earnings to ₹2.22 Crores (₹59.54 Lakhs in net profits).

PokerDangal’s ₹2,200 entry buy-in ₹20 Lakhs GTD DVS Main Event registered 151 entries on Day 1C, and after 23 eight-minute levels of play, 29 runners bagged a stack for Day 2. ‘beerboy191’ (203,096), ‘tourneypro’ (181,909), and Atul ‘Atul213356’ Khurana (148,074) topped the end-of-the-day chip counts.
The DVS Main Event has registered 417 entries so far (Day 1A – 122, Day 1B – 144, and Day 1C – 151) with two more flights on the tap before Day 2 on Sunday (8 PM).
