The weekend is approaching, and Thursday predictably witnessed an uptick in the tournament action. And with Spartan Poker’s Millionaire Series 5.0, MPL Poker`s Master Series, PokerStars India’s Galactic Series, and PokerDangal’s DMVS running neck-to-neck, MTT players were spoilt for choice!
Topping the list of Thursday scorers was the first-ever IOPC – The Crown champion Harshit Sanghi. The poker reg from Kanpur won Spartan Poker’s MS #40 – High Roller for a whopping ₹20 Lakhs in the early hours of Friday after edging past the seasoned MTT pro Dhaval Mudgal heads-up. The duo briefly discussed a deal but opted to let the play till the end.
While Sanghi broke an over-five-month long title drought with the win, he cumulatively added ₹20.27 Lakhs in Thursday winnings while also becoming the ninth Millionaire to be crowned at the ongoing series. Mudgal pocketed a runner-up payday of ₹11.43 Lakhs (won ₹11.76 Lakhs overall).
After three FT finishes earlier this past week, Deepesh Raka finally clinched his maiden Millionaire Series title in Spartan Poker`s MS #38 for ₹4.25 Lakhs. He struck a heads-up deal with ‘KAKAROT98$’ (2nd for ₹4.16 Lakhs).
‘WhatIffGawd’ (Won MS #39 for ₹1.82 Lakhs) and Vishal Ojha (Won MS #41 Turbo 6-Max for ₹1.07 Lakhs) & ‘platinumm’ (Won MS #37 for ₹1.04 Lakhs) were the other two Millionaire Series tournaments on Thursday.
Ram Kakkar (opted out of our tracking) shipped PokerBaazi’s ₹15 Lakhs GTD The Summit for ₹5.73 Lakhs after besting PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit Wadhawan (2nd for ₹4.01 Lakhs) in the heads-up play.
Aditya Singh fired up the action in PokerStars India’s Galactic Series-58 [Championship Highroller 8-Max], clinching the title for a site-best ₹5.25 Lakhs (won ₹5.45 Lakhs overall). PokerGuru Ambassador Deepankur Gupta cashed for ₹3.87 Lakhs in second place.
Devrat Singh (opted out of our tracking) conquered the Adda52-hosted Godfather for ₹5.15 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal with the two-time Godfather champion PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek Singh (2nd for ₹5.04 Lakhs).
The upcoming pro Areyann Gurbaxani hit the bullseye in PokerBaazi’s (7-Max) Daily SPRINT, winning the 7:30 PM for the second time in three days for ₹1.53 Lakhs. The poker reg completed a hattrick of title wins last night, simultaneously adding ₹2.11 Lakh in total winnings. Ayush Garg finished runner-up for ₹1.07 Lakhs (won ₹2.30 Lakhs overall).
Vinay Rajpal raked in ₹2.31 Lakhs across four deep runs last night, most prominently winning PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Lakhs GTD (7-Max) SPRINT for ₹1.47 Lakhs.
