The third week of June kicked off in style as the leading online poker sites continue to roll out lucrative tournaments. As always, Monday was considerably slow-paced compared to Sunday, with a few flagships falling short of their advertised guarantees. Without further ado, let’s take a quick recap of what went down yesterday!
Spartan Poker
The Monday extravaganza on Spartan Poker, the ₹12 Lakhs GTD ReCharge, saw 579 contestants (280 unique, 86 re-entries and 213 re-buys) pony-up the ₹2,200 entry fees. It still wasn’t enough, as the site had to fill in an overlay of ₹42,000. Raghav ‘Maddytilt’ Madan championed the event for a hefty ₹2.33 Lakhs payday, after defeating Surbhit’ grovahova’ Grover in the heads-up finale. Grover took home ₹1.48 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
Spartan Poker’s The Flash fared relatively better. Clocking in 614 entries (315 unique, 82 re-entries and 217 re-buys), the event easily surpassed its listed guarantee to post a prize pool worth ₹6.14 Lakhs. ‘LivoJohn’ won the tournament for ₹1.19 Lakhs and ‘denb’ placed second for ₹75,522.
PokerBaazi
APL Ambassador Sumit’ boronyx’ Sapra added another accolade to his tally on Sunday when he took down the UVS The Millionaire Lite title for ₹10 Lakhs. Persisting with his winning form, Sapra came out on top in PokerBaazi’s ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Bout last night for a cool ₹2.15 Lakhs, while ‘Ray1807’ came in second for ₹1.51 Lakhs. With this win, Sapra`s online scorecard has touched ₹3.78 Crores.
Another player who needs to be mentioned here is Sanat’ mehro2511’ Mehrotra. The #1 ranked player on the weekly and monthly leaderboard seems to be unstoppable at the moment, and he added ₹96,860 to his tally last night for finishing third in The Bout.
Adda52
The Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) has completed its first week, and Day 7 was headlined by the ₹15 Lakhs GTD AOPS Inception. With a buy-in of ₹3,500, the tourney gathered 533 entries (261 unique and 272 re-entries), resulting in a ₹17.06 Lakhs prize pool. Promising player Jairam’ Keyser_Soze’ Parab has frequently been running deep in events on the site, with a recent big score coming in the AOPS Moonlight for ₹1.49 Lakhs on June 11. Last night, he bested ‘GigaaBet’ (runner-up for ₹2.39 Lakhs) heads-up to lock in the title and top prize of ₹4.09 Lakhs.
