Fridays are always a good time to play poker, with most online poker sites laying out massive guaranteed tournaments. Last Friday was no different, and for the second day running, the top pros dominated the action!

Friday’s have become synonymous with Spartan Poker’s – The Elite ₹25 Lakhs GTD – that came back for yet another action-packed run last night. The event gathered 287 entries (125 unique, 77 re-entries, and 85 rebuys) that helped generate a whopping ₹28.70 Lakhs in prize money. Taking home the top prize in the event was ‘BatteryDead’ who denied PokerGuru Ambassador Jayjit ‘David Blaine’ Ray the title and won ₹6.35 Lakhs. Ray pocketed ₹4.29 Lakhs for finishing runner-up.

Online phenom Ram ‘TheLagLawyer’ Kakkar keeps popping up in our daily reports, and his fast-expanding resume got a few more additions yesterday. He took down Spartan Poker’s TGIF ₹10 Lakhs GTD last night, overcoming a massive field of 740 entries (323 unique, 146 re-entries, and 271 rebuys), to win ₹1.44 Lakhs. Not done still, he made a deep run in PokerStars India’s DIWALI RUSH-33: Progressive KO 4-Max ₹3 Lakhs GTD as well, finishing 10th for ₹6,288. ‘SelfclaimedPros’ was the other winner on Spartan Poker and shipped the Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹54,879.

Another tournament regular on a heater, Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall, is certainly not in the mood to slow down any time soon. Following through on his blistering Thursday run, Mall final tabled two major tournaments last night. He came extremely close to winning Adda52’s The Ballers ₹15 Lakhs GTD but ended up finishing runner-up instead for ₹2.65 Lakhs. ‘jason911’ topped the 250-entry field (164 unique and 86 re-entries), netting ₹4.45 Lakhs in first-place prize money. Mall also placed third in PokerBaazi’s Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD, bagging ₹38,786.

PokerStars India’s Diwali Rush series has been cruising along quite comfortably, with most events easily surpassing their offered guarantees. This Friday was no different where headlining the action was the DIWALI RUSH-31: Uppercut Progressive KO SE 4-Max ₹12 Lakhs GTD. In the end, ‘Infic11’ came out on top to win an impressive ₹2.89 Lakhs. However, it wasn’t an easy win for the anonymous user who had a formidable heads-up opponent in WSOP bracelet winner Aditya ‘serendipity789’ Sushant. Sushant is another top pro in stellar form currently. The Chennai-resident had championed 9stacks’ Thunder ₹5 Lakhs GTD on October 31, but his bid for the PKO title last night saw him conceding to a runner-up finish worth ₹1.41 Lakhs in prize money.

Another talented player who deserves a special mention is our Young Gun Ujjwal Narwal. The Delhi-resident ran deep in two majors last night. He championed the DIWALI RUSH-33: Progressive KO 4-Max ₹3 Lakhs GTD on PokerStars India to win ₹90,379, while placing fourth in The Ballers on Adda52 for ₹1.45 Lakhs. Akash ‘bruce.lee0247’ Gupta (DIWALI RUSH-34: Ultrasonic PKO ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹43.204) and ‘vinaash’ (DIWALI RUSH-29: Afternoon on Stars ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹36,775) were the other Friday winners on PokerStars India.

The most prominent Friday major on PokerBaazi, the Fri-YAY ₹10 Lakhs GTD, fell short of break-even with 313 entries (141 unique and 172 re-entries) that resulted in a ₹92,000 overlay. GPL India Season 1 Bengaluru Hackers Team Manager Vidwath ‘Qweasdzxc’ Shetty got the best deal on the value on offer as he came out on top to win ₹2.20 Lakhs. Joining Shetty in the winner’s circle was ‘Mukeshahuja,’ who took down the Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD to win ₹85,050.

StackUp @8pm ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD on 9stacks ran amid 172 entries (107 unique, 30 re-entries and 35 rebuys) and for a change, pulled over the advertised guarantee with a prize pool collection of ₹2.58 Lakhs. Praveen ‘ULTRAMAX’ Singh proved to be the last player standing in the event and won ₹65,790.

Friday action on Poker Dangal was dominated by Dangal Friday 1 Lakhs GTD that surpassed its advertised guarantee on the back of 148 entries (106 unique and 42 re-entries). ‘spewking’ bested the field to take home the title and ₹27,972 in prize money.
