The holiday season is upon us, but the poker tables are ablaze! While some are stringing up lights and wrapping presents, the poker world is locked in two huge international showdowns. The WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas is reaching its dramatic conclusion, with only three days left before a champion is crowned in the $25,000 WSOP Super Main Event. Simultaneously, the WPT World Championship is underway, promising a week of gripping poker action.

Back home in India, the online poker scene is exploding with activity. PokerBaazi’s massive ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online series rolled on with Day 9 on Monday. A whopping ₹1.25 Crores in guarantees were up for grabs across five exciting tournaments. And it wasn’t just PokerBaazi – Natural8 India, Junglee Poker, and other platforms were running their own high-stakes games. Even Santa couldn’t keep these players away from the tables!

But Monday belonged to one player: Kumar Vatsal. He had a day that most poker players only dream of, taking down PokerBaazi’s WPT#49 Mini Deepstack. Vatsal is a well-known name on PokerBaazi, and his dedication and consistent deep runs over the past few months, including a notable performance in Adda52’s Maverick, finally led to a major breakthrough. He won his first WPT Online title and a huge ₹7.50 Lakhs first-place prize. This wasn’t just a good win; it was his biggest score of the year and the third-largest of his entire poker career. And Vatsal wasn’t done yet. He also made a deep run in Adda52’s Iron Man. By the end of the night, his total winnings reached an incredible ₹7.56 Lakhs, making him the top earner of the day. What a Monday!

There’s another story worth telling from the WPT#49 Mini Deepstack. PokerBaazi’s rising star, known as ‘hurikaan,’ who won a PKO title last month, came in second place, earning a personal-best ₹4.35 Lakhs. This second-place finish, in only their 26th tournament, completely surpassed their previous best result and put them firmly in the black.

PLO specialist Saurabh Ramola had a week to remember. He really showed his skill by winning the WPT#47 Bounty (PLO5 – PKO), taking home a cool ₹3.58 Lakhs. With a final table appearance in the WPT#49 Mini Deepstack, Ramola boosted his total winnings to an impressive ₹5.52 Lakhs. Rising Star Aman Parakh, a two-time India Turbo Masters Main Event champion, put up a strong fight but ultimately finished second in the WPT#47, earning ₹2.14 Lakhs. With six deep runs across the series, Parakh’s total earnings went over ₹2.60 Lakhs, pushing him up to the #2 spot on the WPT India Online leaderboard.

Then there was Ritwik Khanna, who finally broke a two-month dry spell in the best way possible, winning PokerBaazi’s WPT#48 Superstack for ₹3.75 Lakhs. This wasn’t just any win; it was the Rising Star‘s second WPT Online title and his tenth-biggest score of 2024. And like Ramola, Khanna also had a deep run in the WPT#49 Mini Deepstack, bringing his total winnings to ₹3.82 Lakhs. Animesh Thakur, a mid-stakes expert who made the final table of Pocket Rockets last week, took second place in the WPT#48, earning ₹2.30 Lakhs. This was his best score of 2024 and his second-best ever. Another deep run added to his total for the day, bringing it to ₹2.35 Lakhs.

Mystery player ‘mokypoky’ also had a huge breakthrough, winning PokerBaazi’s WPT#51 (5-Max) Hyper Turbo. This wasn’t just any win; it was their first major title and a prestigious WPT Online title, along with ₹3 Lakhs. This win was huge for ‘mokypoky’—it was 30 times larger than their previous best result on the platform, instantly turning their profit around. Pramod Kumar finished second, taking home ₹2 Lakhs. With two good runs, his total winnings reached ₹2.07 Lakhs, his third-best score of the year.

Among the top stories was PokerBaazi’s ‘jumbohhhh7’, who struck gold by winning the WPT#46 Megastack. This marked their third career win and their first-ever WPT Online title. The victory brought them a personal-best ₹2.53 Lakhs, a massive leap from their previous top score—almost 11 times higher. Standing tall in second place was Anurag Srivastava, fresh off his recent Pocket52 Pocket Magnets win. Srivastava pocketed ₹1.65 Lakhs for his runner-up finish, with a solid total haul of ₹1.92 Lakhs for the day.

Over on Pocket52, ‘Akashkumar23’ celebrated a major milestone: their first-ever title. They won the Pocket Jacks and earned a site-best ₹1.65 Lakhs. Shivam Kumar Dubey, who had just made the final table of the WPT#39 Monsterstack the night before, also had a strong showing, finishing second with a site-best ₹1.16 Lakhs, bringing his total winnings to ₹1.33 Lakhs.

Adda52 regular Divyansh Chandra continued his impressive streak, winning the Iron Man for the third time in 2024. This latest victory earned him ₹1.60 Lakhs, placing it among his top 10 scores of the year. Debneil Mukherjee, champion of the IPM#74 Micro HighRoller and runner-up in April’s #19 The MoneyMaker, took second place, adding ₹1.18 Lakhs to his bankroll.

On Natural8 India, ‘Wonderwoman6’ lived up to their name, dominating the Daily Hyper 100. They outlasted 26 other players to claim ₹89,756. This is their 17th-speed tournament win on the platform in just over nine months! With over ₹53 Lakhs earned this year alone, ‘Wonderwoman6’ is proving that this isn’t just riding a lucky streak—this is consistent, unrelenting dominance.

Junglee Poker was the place to be on Monday, with some serious poker action unfolding. Naman Puri continued his incredible run this year by taking down the Monday Monster, adding another ₹87,329 to his winnings, and claiming his ninth title of 2024.

Monday also saw some impressive performances from other players. Nishant Chowdhury, Mubashir Ahamed, Sandeep Chhabra, and Satyapal Verma each won their respective Monday marquee events!

PokerBaazi’s ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online series, a game-changer born from a legendary partnership between India’s top online poker platform and the World Poker Tour, is hurtling towards its grand finale this weekend. After eight days of intense action, Day 9 kept the momentum going, with five flagship tournaments boasting a whopping ₹1.25 Crores in guaranteed prizes, lighting up the Monday action! But the night belonged to Kumar ’23offsuits’ Vatsal, who finally broke through in the ₹50 Lakhs GTD WPT#49 Mini Deepstack.

Kumar Vatsal
Kumar Vatsal

Vatsal, a familiar name on PokerBaazi since 2019, has been grinding hard this year. He’s been racking up deep runs and close calls, but that elusive title had always seemed just out of reach. But December seems to be his month. He kicked things off with a podium finish in Adda52’s Maverick and carried that fire into the WPT India Online series. Determined to snag his first WPT Online title and cement his place in WPT history, Vatsal locked onto Monday’s main attraction like a heat-seeking missile!

The 7:30 PM Mini Deepstack was the place to be, drawing a monster field of 1,421 entries (772 unique) that shattered the guarantee. The competition was cutthroat. Vatsal dove headfirst into the action, ready for a marathon grind. With each knockout, the pressure cooker intensified, but Vatsal stayed ice-cold. He fired four bullets and shrugged off a couple of early exits, refusing to be denied. After an 8.5-hour battle that pushed him to the limit, he finally emerged triumphant, snatching the ₹7.50 Lakhs top prize—his biggest score of the year and his third-biggest ever!

This wasn’t just any win; it was Vatsal’s first title of the year and his first-ever WPT Online title, a moment he’ll be bragging about for some time. And to top it off, he also made a deep run in Adda52’s Iron Man last night, pushing his Monday winnings to a scorching ₹7.56 Lakhs. The man was unstoppable, claiming the title of the day’s top scorer.

But the Mini Deepstack wasn’t just the Vatsal show. It was also where ‘hurikaan,’ a mysterious player lurking in the shadows of PokerBaazi, almost pulled off a heist. This player has been sporadically grinding the small stakes since 2022, with a win in the ₹1 Lakh GTD PKO last month. Now, they were on the verge of something much bigger.

As the action heated up, ‘hurikaan’ went toe-to-toe with Vatsal, battling through the stacked field with relentless determination. They were in it to win it. But after a fierce heads-up duel, ‘hurikaan’ came up just short, taking second place. Still, they bagged a hefty ₹4.35 Lakhs in just their 26th tournament on PokerBaazi—a score that blew their previous best out of the water and launched them into profitability in a big way.

The virtual cards were flying on Day 9 of PokerBaazi’s ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online series, and the tension was thick. Everyone was waiting for a big story, and Ritwik ‘Ritwikkhanna’ Khanna delivered. This Rising Star, a true poker powerhouse, put on a show, conquering the ₹25 Lakhs GTD WPT#48 Superstack and grabbing a ₹3.75 Lakhs first-place prize. This victory was extra special for Khanna, snapping a two-month drought without a title.

Ritwik Khanna
Ritwik Khanna

Khanna’s reputation is well-earned. He’s a consistent crusher in the big flagships, both online and in live tournaments, and has the results to prove it. Remember his impressive runs at Spartan Poker’s IOPC 15.0 #14 Super High Roller (6-Max) and India Turbo Masters #23 Blizzard? Or his victory at the Adda52 Colossus? The man is a force to be reckoned with at any table. Fresh off some action at the USOP Grand Finale in Hai Phong, Vietnam, he was eager to taste victory on his home turf (or rather, home internet).

Since winning Adda52’s Monster Turbo in early October, Khanna has been grinding online and testing his skills on the South Asian live circuit. He’d come close a few times, making four final tables, but that big win had eluded him. You could almost feel the tension building – would he break through?

The answer came last night in the 6:30 PM WPT#48 Superstack. Facing a tough field of 1,141 entries (600 unique) in the evening flagship, Khanna battled for eight hours and 49 minutes. It was a true test of endurance and poker prowess. Ultimately, he stood tall, claiming his second WPT Online title (his first of this series) and his tenth-biggest win of 2024. What a comeback!

But Khanna’s Monday wasn’t about one win. He also cashed in PokerBaazi’s WPT#49 Mini Deepstack, finishing 171st for ₹7,000, boosting his Monday earnings to a sweet ₹3.82 Lakhs. And there’s more! He’s also advanced to Day 2 of the ₹5 Crores GTD WPT#50 Main Event from the opening qualifier.

Ritwik Khanna’s online stats (excluding Natural8 India, Junglee Poker and Pocket52): Lifetime Winnings: ₹13.33 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹3.96 Crores | Titles Won in 2024: #10 | Annual Winnings: ₹2.19 Crores | Annual Profits: ₹64.88 Lakhs

The excitement wasn’t limited to Khanna’s story. Mid-stakes specialist Animesh ‘animeshth20’ Thakur, fresh off a fourth-place finish in last week’s Pocket Rockets, was also hungry for a win after three months of near misses. He came agonizingly close in the WPT#48 Superstack, reaching heads-up play. But in the end, he had to settle for second place and a ₹2.30 Lakhs payday—still a fantastic result, marking his biggest score of 2024 and second-biggest overall.

Animesh Thakur
Animesh Thakur

Thakur’s Monday started strong. He finished eighth in PokerBaazi’s Daily Morning SPRINT, adding ₹4,800 to his bankroll and fattening his day’s earnings to ₹2.35 Lakhs.

Animesh Thakur’s online stats (excluding Natural8 India, Junglee Poker and Pocket52): Lifetime Winnings: ₹1.42 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹49.69 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #12 | Annual Winnings: ₹36.77 Lakhs | Annual Profits: ₹11.99 Lakhs

The WPT#48 Superstack final table featured several known names such as Vikram ‘VikramJaiswal7’ Jaiswal (3rd for ₹1.75 Lakhs), Saturday’s WPT#34 Bounty Hunter winner Abir ‘abirsinhaa’ Sinha (5th for ₹1.04 Lakhs), and Sachin ‘dopeinderx’ Ranjalkar (7th for ₹62,500).

The ₹2,500 buy-in WPT#48 Superstack almost hit its advertised guarantee, falling just ₹19,466 short. Even so, the top 169 finishers were guaranteed a minimum payout of ₹4,250, a nice 1.7 times return on their initial investment, and a great way to kick off the poker week for many players. The action continues in the final week of the WPT India Online series!

Day 9 of PokerBaazi’s ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online series kicked off the poker week with a bang, and a mysterious player, ‘mokypoky,’ crashed the party and walked away with a WPT Online title! This newcomer, who just popped up on the radar last month, took down the ₹20 Lakh GTD WPT#51 (5-Max) Hyper Turbo in dominating fashion.

With its hyper-turbo format, this 9 PM flagship event was a recipe for chaos, with 367 players (from a massive 753 total entries) battling in a frenzy of raises and re-raises. But ‘mokypoky’ wasn’t fazed by the fast-paced action. They played with a fearless style and an uncanny ability to make the right moves at the right time. After a live wire four-hour and 17-minute battle, they came out trumps, adding a second PokerBaazi title to their trophy case. And here’s the kicker: their first title, a ₹1 Lakh GTD BSS win, happened on November 17—the first event they ever played on the platform! Looks like ‘mokypoky’ has a knack for making a grand entrance.

This victory—their first flagship online win and a prestigious WPT Online title—earned them a sweet ₹3 Lakh payday. That’s a whopping 30 times their previous-best score on PokerBaazi, getting them in the profit lane for a chance for further success! Clearly, ‘mokypoky’ is a name we’ll be hearing a lot more of in the future.

mokypoky’s PokerBaazi stats: Site Winnings: ₹3.59 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹2.19 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #2

But the excitement didn’t end there. Pramod ‘sherlockholmesB’ Kumar, a sporadic MTT player who made it all the way to the final table of the GOAT 2024, also had a day to celebrate. He fought his way to a runner-up finish in the WPT#51 (5-Max) Hyper Turbo, padding his bankroll with a sweet ₹2 Lakhs—his third-best score of the year! Another deep run in the WPT#49 Mini Deepstack (216th for ₹7,000) brought his total winnings for the day to a very respectable ₹2.07 Lakhs.

Monday’s action at PokerBaazi’s ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online series had its fair share of standout performances, but none more inspiring than ‘jumbohhhh7.’ This grinder, who’s been on the platform since April 2023, was on a mission to capture their third title and their first-ever WPT Online win. And they got it in style by taking down the ₹15 Lakhs GTD WPT#46 Megastack.

This 4 PM flagship event was no walk in the park. ‘jumbohhhh7’ fired two bullets and went to work for over eight hours against a packed field of 1,079 entries (572 unique). They kept their cool and outlasted the competition, eventually claiming the top prize of ₹2.53 Lakhs — a personal-best score almost 11 times their previous top score! This win not only ended their title drought but also propelled them back into profitability on PokerBaazi.

jumbohhhh7’s PokerBaazi stats: Site Winnings: ₹4.20 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹1.84 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #2

But ‘jumbohhhh7’ wasn’t the only one having a good Monday. Anurag ‘Rebuy2survive’ Srivastava, who won Pocket52’s Pocket Magnets a few weeks ago but had a rough weekend, was looking to get back on track. And boy, did he ever! He put together a string of three deep runs, racking up ₹1.92 Lakhs in total winnings. His biggest score came in the WPT#46 Megastack, where he, too, fired two bullets. He fought hard but had to settle for second place, taking home ₹1.65 Lakhs. It was his second near miss in a WPT Online event (he earlier finished runner-up in the WPT Weekender on Adda52 in 2020).

Even Sunday’s WPT#39 Monsterstack champion, POY #8 Satyam ‘satyamverma25’ Verma, couldn’t resist the allure of the Megastack. He fired two bullets and reached the final table, finishing eighth for ₹31,578.

The ₹1,800 buy-in WPT#46 Megastack proved a popular choice, smashing its guarantee and generating a tempting ₹16.89 Lakhs prize pool. The top 161 finishers all walked away with at least ₹2,871 – 1.6 times the initial buy-in. With this kind of value, it’s no wonder players are eagerly awaiting the upcoming WPT India Online series events.

Adda52 regular Divyansh ‘divyansh2906’ Chandra is on a tear! Just last week, he was racking up wins in the Freeze Out Adda and grabbing a fifth-place finish in the Nighttide DST Adda. And now, he’s added another trophy to his collection – his 30th on Adda52 this year! And not just any trophy, mind you. He’s conquered the ₹8 Lakhs GTD Iron Man for the third time in 2024. Given his volume and consistency, someone needs to check if he has a secret clone or something!

This latest victory was no cakewalk. The 8 PM Iron Man drew a crowd of 360 tough competitors (195 unique), and Chandra had to grind it out for six hours and 15 minutes to come out on top. But hey, that’s what champions do, right? He walked away with a cool ₹1.60 Lakhs – one of his top 10 scores this year.

Divyansh Chandra’s Adda52 stats: Site Winnings: ₹95.49 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹56.23 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #30

But every hero needs a rival, and in this story, it was Debneil ‘NoobNeil’ Mukherjee (opted out of our tracking). This dude is a force to be reckoned with – he snagged the IPM#74 Micro HighRoller title in August and was runner-up in April’s #19 The MoneyMaker. He was riding high after reaching the final table in last week’s Maverick and Saturday’s WPT#38 (5-Max) Hyper Turbo and chased Chandra all the way till the end in the Iron Man, ultimately settling for second place and ₹1.18 Lakhs.

The Iron Man final table brought together two other familiar names: Himanshu ‘pirateking7’ Arora (3rd for ₹86,139) and Kaleem ‘fishwithnuts’ Pasha (6th for ₹33,924).

With a buy-in of ₹2,750, the Iron Man blew past its ₹8 Lakhs guarantee, creating a juicy ₹8.64 Lakhs prize pool. The top 55 finishers all got a taste of the winnings, with payouts starting at ₹5,086 – almost double the buy-in! It was a great start to the week for everyone who cashed in on Adda52, India’s first and most enduring online poker platform.
