The online action went into overdrive on Friday, with the APT 2021 Online Series India starting its debut run on PokerBaazi. This, alongside the ongoing IOPC January 2021 edition, set the virtual felts on fire!

There was a slew of big winners last night; check out the details below.

 

Spartan Poker

Friday marked the start of the IOPC – The Millionaire United, and Day 1A of the ₹1.5 Crores GTD tourney registered 470 entries. The 6 PM tourney played through till 10:38 PM, with 62 players advancing to Day 2. Siddhanth ‘PluRibu$’ Kripalani (276,002), Rahul ‘Mrrahul777’ Kumar (217,906), and Rising Star Ritwik ‘Fisherman1997’ Khanna (190,057) bagged the top three stacks of the day.

Not surprisingly, the day`s biggest win came at the IOPC. And the distinction belonged to this week`s Sunday SuperStack champion Aryan ‘bob_marley’ Kumar, who cashed ₹9.21 Lakhs for winning the ₹50 Lakhs GTD IOPC#12 The Elite. The mystery user ‘luckymaster’ finished runner-up for ₹6.72 Lakhs. The ₹11,000 entry buy-in tourney had to fill in an overlay deficit of ₹3.70 Lakhs after registering 463 entries, and 87 places got paid.

The #1 ranked player of 2020 – both in earnings and profit – Gaurav ‘mozzie17’ Sood – recorded his biggest winning day of the year, banking almost ₹5 Lakhs. He finished third in The Elite for ₹4.64 Lakhs and took fifth-place in PokerStars India’s Uppercut for ₹34,756.

The ₹18 Lakhs GTD IOPC #11 TGIF logged in 1,369 entries, generating a prize pool worth ₹20.54 Lakhs. The former Millionaire LITE champion Sreekanth ‘TheGTObot’ Narayan navigated his way to the top to win his first IOPC title and ₹3.86 Lakhs in prize money. Suresh ‘pokergambit’ Kolli finished runner-up for ₹2.35 Lakhs.

The ₹9.50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #13 Monster Stack registered 606 entries, and Pranjal ‘lilmessipranjal’ Gandhi topped them all to win the lion`s share of the ₹12.12 Lakhs prize pool worth ₹2.35 Lakhs. Anuj Kumar ‘aliceking’ Mehra placed runner-up for ₹1.49 Lakhs.

‘Noobdaddy7’ (anonymity requested) was the last player standing in the ₹7.50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #9 and won ₹1.45 Lakhs with MTT pro Kunal ‘NutsTodayBluffTomo’ Patni placing runner-up for ₹91,500. With the win, Agarwal booked his seat in the Master`s Table FT.

The ₹6.75 Lakhs GTD IOPC#10 Monster Stack pulled in 941 entries. The former Millionaire champion, Young Gun Anujkumar ‘aatmaan108’ Kodam, championed the tourney to win ₹1.62 Lakhs. ‘Bittubishtb’ came second for ₹1 Lakh.

PokerStars India`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut MAGIC Edition experienced an overlay of ₹1 Lakh after 225 entrants bought in for ₹4,400, and the top 41 places earned a payday. Extending PokerGuru Staking`s winning record to a fourth-consecutive day, PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit ‘b00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan shipped the tourney to win ₹2.08 Lakhs. Ranjeet ‘Bedevilforyou’ Negi came in second for ₹96,333.

The 10:30 PM fixture on the site, the ₹1 Lakh GTD Bigstack Turbo hit the bull’s eye as a precise 100 players signed up to play. The mystery user ‘DazzlerDK’ won the tourney for ₹30,218 after defeating ‘acerush07’ (runner-up for ₹10,086) heads-up.

It was a chaotic Friday evening with so much happening all across. Headlining the Friday primetime action on Adda52 was the ₹22.5 Lakhs GTD The Ballers. The ₹7,500 entry buy-in tourney recorded 308 entries, overlaying ₹1.40 Lakhs. Racing past the competition was a relatively new name, Kunal ‘Kunotaguero’ Yadav, who took away a career-best ₹5.62 Lakhs for the win. Prominent Delhi-based reg Shashank ‘felter’ Jain finished runner-up for ₹3.40 Lakhs.

The other marquee tourney on the site, the ₹5.5 Lakhs GTD Running Hot, recorded a guarantee-smashing ₹6.02 Lakhs prize pool from 301 participants, and the top 30 places finished ITM. Navin ‘kutkut69A’ Bohania captured the title and the ₹1.54 Lakhs up-top after defeating Guruprasad ‘guruprasad_gupta’ Gupta (runner-up for ₹91,805) in heads-up play.

PokerBaazi

It was a special day at PokerBaazi, with the APT 2021 Online Series India commencing its debut run on the site. This is the first time the Asia-facing live tournament brand, Asian Poker Tour, is running an online poker stop exclusively for Indian players.

Day 1 of the inaugural series came packed with five tourneys. Offering the most-massive prize pool guarantee was the ₹50 Lakhs GTD APT #2 Mini Main Event. Day 1A of the ₹5,500 entry buy-in tourney registered 337 participants, and after five hours of play, only 46 runners made it across to Day 2. Nikhil ‘blastupinside’ Arora (317,000), Young Gun Siddharth ‘schemer’ Karia (256,000), and Nishant ‘stockfull’ Pandey (242,000) bagged the top stacks of the day. There are two more starting flights to go before all qualifying stacks converge for Day 2 on January 19 at 6 PM.

Along with the prize money, Nailwal also won himself the first APT trophy in the series. Ashish ‘Imgabru’ Kumar finished runner-up for ₹1.65 Lakhs!

The win ends a one-and-a-half month-long title drought for Wadhawan, whose last recorded victory dates back to November 29, when he had captured the ₹12.50 Lakhs GTD Big Slick for ₹2.39 Lakhs. The Chandigarh-based pro has crossed ₹4.42 Crores in recorded lifetime winnings.

Ranjeet ‘Bedevilforyou’ Negi picked up a runner-up finish worth ₹96,333 (₹87,458 in prize money, ₹8,875 in bounties). Additionally, he also placed sixth in Adda52’s The Ballers for ₹84,375, boosting his online winnings to ₹1.24 Crore.

Spartan Poker’s ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD IOPC#9 was the second tourney on the IOPC Friday schedule. Even though sporting a moderate ₹1,100 entry buy-in, the event missed the break-even mark by ₹37,000 after registering 713 entries – not surprising for an afternoon event that ran from 2 PM to 9 PM.

‘Noobdaddy7’ (anonymity requested) was the last player standing in the tourney and won ₹1.45 Lakhs after relegating the more experienced Kunal ‘NutsTodayBluffTomo’ Patni to the rail in second place for ₹91,500.

Agarwal currently boasts of ₹11.19 Lakhs in recorded winnings on Spartan Poker, with a profit of ₹4.26 Lakhs.
