It was an action-packed Friday with massive online stops like the record-shattering IOPC, the AOPS Special Edition, and the PMVS dominating the virtual felts. One standout performer among the unending list of winners last night was Guneet Kwatra. The online reg pocketed over ₹10.50 Lakhs from two top-two finishes.

Spartan Poker

The showstopper tourney on Day 2 of the IOPC was the ₹45 Lakhs GTD IOPC #12 The Elite. The event turned out to be quite the crowd-puller as it gathered 615 entries to generate a guarantee-crushing ₹61.50 Lakhs prize pool. It all came down to a heads-up finale between MTT reg Guneet ‘guntz’ Kwatra and an unknown player ‘RegularPlaya.’ The duo quickly shook hands on a deal. Eventually, Kwatra banked ₹9.50 Lakhs for his runner-up finish while ‘RegularPlaya’ received ₹9.82 Lakhs for the victory. Even before chopping the Elite, Kwatra had championed the Friday Euphoria on PokerStars India for ₹98,956, scoring north of ₹10.50 Lakhs in total!

The first of three Millionaire editions at the IOPC, the ₹1.5 Crores GTD IOPC The Millionaire United, flagged off last night with Day 1A bringing in 639 entries (359 unique, 118 re-entries and 162 rebuys). Only 67 players advanced to Day 2 with PokerGuru Ambassador Jayjit ‘David Blaine’ Ray (245,190), bagging the most massive stack among the advancing players. Ashwin ‘A116’ Vijay (241,616) and Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma (229,116) were placed second and third in chips.

The ₹15 Lakhs GTD TGIF also logged in a sizable 1,533 entries to accrue a hefty ₹22.99 Lakhs in prize money. Thursday’s Ultron runner-up ‘GODSENT’ did even better on Friday as he captured the title for ₹3.49 Lakhs following a heads-up deal with ‘The Sightseer’ (runner-up for ₹3.33 Lakhs).

Online reg Banmanlang ‘bml2012’ Lyndem was another player who added an IOPC title to his name after outlasting 745 entries in the ₹8 Lakhs GTD Monster Stack for ₹2.87 Lakhs.

The ₹6 Lakhs GTD IOPC #9 registered 588 entries to generate a ₹8.82 Lakhs prize pool. Following a five-way deal, Suhas N ‘Skullkiker’ Yadav walked away with the title and ₹1.11 Lakhs!

Winning one of the seven IOPC tourneys yesterday was the former Millionaire champion Dhruvin ‘thepokerplayer’ Kothari. He took down the ₹5 Lakhs GTD IOPC #10 Monster Stack for ₹1.36 Lakhs following a heads-up deal with Yohan ‘PAPITO’ Patel (runner-up for ₹1.07 Lakhs).

 

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD PMVS #13 The Ridge pulled in 344 entries, and the top 49 places took a stab at the ₹10.32 Lakhs prize pool. Locking horns in the heads-up battle were PokerGuru Ambassador’s Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved and Devvrat ‘flopCheck’ Arya with the more experienced Ved coming out on top. Ved’s victory got him ₹2.16 Lakhs cash prize while Arya settled for the runner-up finish worth ₹1.51 Lakhs.

Running alongside The Ridge was the ₹5 Lakhs GTD PMVS #14 (8-Max) that clocked in 238 entries, resulting in a shortfall of ₹24,000. The winner emerged in Ayan ‘interalia_1’ Ray, who took away ₹1.17 Lakhs after defeating Pranjal ‘lilmessi’ Gandhi (runner-up for ₹82,550) heads-up.

 

Adda52

The featured AOPS tourney to play out on Friday was the ₹27,500 buy-in ₹50 Lakhs GTD Holdem High Roller. As expected, a star-studded field of 222 entrants jumped in to play, making for a guarantee-smashing ₹55.50 Lakhs prize pool! Racing past the heavyweights was the mystery crusher ‘Yud1006’ who took away ₹12.11 Lakhs prize pool following a heads-up chop with ‘SingleA’ (runner-up for ₹12 Lakhs). The winner had bagged the end of Day 1C chip lead in the AOPS Main Event on Thursday.

The FT was replete with MTT sickos like Devang ‘’spark123′ Yadav (3rd for ₹6.66 Lakhs), Sriharsha ‘ivey2’ Doddapaneni (4th for ₹4.77 Lakhs), Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma (5th for ₹3.33 Lakhs), and Vaibhav ‘alienrobot’ Sharma (6th for ₹2.35 Lakhs). Other top regs like Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall (7th for ₹1.80 Lakhs), Chirag ‘cs56’ Sodha (8th for ₹1.38 Lakhs), and Vishal ‘amarkhatri999’ Tulsyan (9th for ₹1.11 Lakhs) also posted deep runs in the tourney.

The flagship ₹3 Crores GTD AOPS Main Event saw two more starting flights played out yesterday. Day 1D attracted 141 entries, of which only 10 players survived. The end-of-day chip leader, Rahul ‘rahulpalawat’ Jain, has also assumed the overall chip lead role in the event for now with a stack of 748,033. The other flight, Day 1E, like last night, did significantly better as 303 entries joined the action. Only 37 players survived through to Day 2. Ashish ‘goodpoker68’ Garg (469,205) came out in the chip lead with PokerGuru Ambassador Naresh ’emperor457′ Veeravalli (461,455) close on his coattails. After five starting flights, the event has logged in 1,240 entries and needs an additional 1,760 entries to break-even! OVERLAY ALERT!

The ₹10 Lakhs GTD AOPS NLHE registered a packed field of 547 entries to collect ₹12.44 Lakhs in the prize pool. Vinayak ‘bhai_on_mary_jane’ Bajaj squared off with Sumit ‘runrabbitrun’ Advani in the heads-up play, and the duo agreed to an almost equal chop. Bajaj went home richer by ₹2.37 Lakhs, while Advani collected an equally impressive ₹2.34 Lakhs.

Earlier in the day, Manish ‘newkidpoker’ Lakhotia championed the ₹5 Lakhs GTD AOPS Brunch for ₹1.25 Lakhs after defeating ‘vishalmaharaj’ heads-up.

PokerStars India has been consistently filling in overlays, and Friday bought little respite. The site`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut Magic Edition attracted 223 entries to leave an overlay of ₹1.08 Lakhs. Walking away with the gold was Rajat ‘sharabikebabi’ Sharma, who defeated PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘ballistik310’ Singh Chadha heads-up to win ₹2.01 Lakhs. Chadha added ₹1.21 Lakhs to his ever-growing bankroll from the runner-up finish. Sharma now boasts of over ₹4.5 Crores in recorded online cashes!

Taking down the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Friday Euphoria title was none other than the Elite champion Guneet ‘gsk1515’ Kwatra, who collected the ₹98,956 first-place prize after defeating ‘max2172’ (runner-up for ₹75,065) in the heads-up. The ₹2,750 buy-in event had to fill in a significant ₹1.45 Lakhs overlay on the back of 142 entries.

Among the prominent winners on Friday was Young Gun Devang ‘spark123’ Yadav, who had a blissful birthday celebration with two FT finishes last night! The more prominent of the two was his third-place finish in the AOPS Holdem Highroller for ₹6,66,000.

Day 1E of the AOPS Main Event commenced at 7 PM on Friday. Like Thursday, the turnout was significantly better than the afternoon flight, as 303 entries were counted. Ending a little after four hours at 11:10 PM, only 37 players made it across to Day 2.

Ashish ‘goodpoker68’ Garg claimed the Day 1E chip leader title with a stack of 469,205. PokerGuru Ambassador Naresh ’emperor457′ Veeravalli was close behind in second place with 461,455 in chips. An unknown player, ‘null_void’ (384,740), stood a distant third.

Anirudh ‘flash1303’ Reddy (135,066) and Gaurav ‘zillastar’ Bhandari (130,035) also bagged top stacks.

Four more flights are lined up over the weekend with Day 2 slated to begin at 10 PM on Sunday, July 12.

The first of three Millionaire editions lined up at the IOPC began proceedings yesterday. Starting at 6 PM, Day 1A of the IOPC- The Millionaire United ₹1.5 Crores GTD logged in 639 entries (359 unique, 118 re-entries and 162 rebuys) by the time registrations closed.

It took a little more than four hours for the day to get over and leading the 67 players who survived the onslaught was PokerGuru Ambassador Jayjit ‘David Blaine’ Ray.

Ray’s best online score to-date came in March, when he captured the ₹50 Lakhs GTD AOPS Mega Suits Finale title for ₹10.26 Lakhs. Even though a Millionaire title has eluded him till now, he has undoubtedly made a good start in the event by bagging a massive stack of 245,190 for Day 2!

Ashwin ‘A116’ Vijay (241,616), and Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma (229,116) bagged the next top stacks on Day 1A.

Experienced campaigners like Young Gun Devang ‘equity_hunter’ Yadav (163,910), Nishant ‘FunkyouFTW1’ Sharma (163,553), and Sriharsha ‘Potato Player’ Doddapaneni (155,752) also carried big stacks to Day 2.

Running alongside The Millionaire was the ₹45 Lakhs GTD IOPC #12 The Elite. The event began at 9.30 PM and saw 615 hopefuls pony up the ₹11,000 buy-in. Tournament organizers had good reason to celebrate as the Friday flagship tourney logged in a smashing ₹61.50 Lakhs prize pool – over 35% more than its posted guarantee!

It took almost nine hours to find a champion. As is common in flagship tourneys, there was a heads-up deal made between ‘RegularPlaya’ and Guneet’ guntz’ Kwatra. The former won the title and a ₹9.82 Lakhs payday, with Kwatra taking up second place for ₹9.50 Lakhs.

The PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series’ Friday night extravaganza, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD PMVS #13 The Ridge pulled in 344 entries (205 unique and 139 re-entries), to successfully cross the break-even line by ₹32,000.

In the late hours of the night, PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved and his fellow stablemate Devvrat ‘flopCheck’ Arya battled it out for the title. The eventual result was that Ved, who had last won an event in May (Adda52’s Godfather for ₹7.05 Lakhs), was finally able to end his 42-day title drought by winning this event for ₹2.17 Lakhs.

The runner-up Arya, who had won PokerStars India’s Night on Stars on Wednesday for ₹1.52 Lakhs, settled for the runner-up prize worth ₹1.52 Lakhs.

The final table featured a third PokerGuru Ambassador also, namely, Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja. Ahuja placed sixth for ₹43,344.

The other notables on the FT included Sagar ‘StuTheKidUngar’ Patnaik (3rd for ₹97,524), Young Gun Devang ‘laila’ Yadav (5th for ₹54,180), Sumit ‘boronyx’ Sapra (8th for ₹28,896), and Shravan ‘FishStars’ Chhabria (9th for ₹21,672).

PokerStars India`s Friday primetime tourney, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut Magic Edition, attracted 223 entries (129 unique and 94 re-entries) registering an overlay of ₹1.08 Lakhs.

With 41 places paid, Sandeep’ effuno007’ Varma RS was the tourney’s money bubble, ensuring the remaining players the ₹4,214 min-cash.

After just a little over seven and a half hours of play and using three bullets Rajat ‘sharabikebabi’ Sharma climbed his way to the top and won ₹2.01 Lakhs (₹88,095 in prize money and ₹1,13,234 in bounties).

This is the second time that Sharma has won this tourney. This previous win dates back to September last year, where he had pocketed ₹2.03 Lakhs. Considered one of the country’s top players, Sharma boasts of over ₹4.5 Crores in recorded online winnings.

Sharma defeated PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘ballistik310’ Singh Chadha heads-up. Chadha is currently ranked #6 on the yearly leaderboard and took home ₹1.22 Lakhs (₹88,094 in prize money and ₹33,960 in bounties).

One of the featured PMVS tourney`s on the third day of the series was the ₹5 Lakhs GTD PMVS #14. The event registered 238 entries, but that was not enough to meet the guarantee forcing the site to fill in the shortfall for 12 entries valued at ₹24,000.

The primetime tourney ended after six and a half hours of play. Ayan ‘interalia_1’ Ray was the last player standing and banked ₹1.18 Lakhs for his efforts. This is the second event that Ray has won on the site in the last seven days. On July 6, he had won the BSS SuperStack for ₹6.22 Lakhs.
