It was an eventful Tuesday for MTT players with three high-octane stops keeping the domestic platforms busy. Still, the overlay woes for online sites continued as several marquee tourneys suffered shortfalls. PokerGuru Ambassadors were a dominant force last night as the group won an impressive four titles between them alongside many other deep runs. Here is the complete recap.

Spartan Poker

The biggest guaranteed tourney on Spartan Poker`s Tuesday schedule was the ₹20 Lakhs GTD Mega Stack. A turnout of 633 entries resulted in the site having to fill in the shortfall of ₹1.01 Lakhs. After nearly seven hours of play, mystery user ‘xxbajxx1’ came out on top to win the title and winner’s paycheque of ₹2.60 Lakhs. Before taking down the title, the champion agreed to a four-way deal with ‘veselka’ (runner-up for ₹2.59 Lakhs), Sanchit ‘tullupump’ Adukia (3rd for ₹2.34 Lakhs), and Aakash45’ (4th for ₹1.90 Lakhs).

Anirudh ‘flash’ Reddy shipped the other marque tourney on the site, the ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD Race, adding ₹1.50 Lakhs to his bankroll after beating PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiii’ Ahuja (runner-up for ₹99,975) to the finish line. The tourney registered 428 entries to fall ₹1.08 Lakhs short of the listed guarantee. Reddy’s lifetime record has jumped to ₹1.49 Crores after this win.

The site`s low-medium stakes MTT extravaganza, the Ultimate Value Series (UVS), kicked off yesterday. The featured tourney on Day 1 of the series was the ₹5 Lakhs GTD UVS #6 MonsterStack. Sporting a buy-in of ₹1,100, the event accrued 495 entries, falling five entries short of the guarantee on offer. Anonymous user ‘rimtis’ topped the field to win ₹97,450. The runner-up Vishal ‘Juwadi’ Gajaria collected ₹61,900.

Spartan Poker’s new multi-flight tourney Velocity returned for its second running yesterday, under the UVS branding. The first of its four starting flights garnered 296 entries, and after almost four hours of play, only 25 players survived the Day 1A onslaught. Leading this group of advancing players was ‘deranzzdd’ with 158,823 in chips, while ‘blacklollipop’ (157,675) and ‘crockroax021’ (142,550) rounding out the top three stacks of the day.

PokerBaazi

The ₹50 Lakhs GTD PPL#29 Endeavour grabbed most of the spotlight on Day 5 of the PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL). The only multi-flight tourney on the schedule managed to register 1,338 runners across four starting flights – resulting in an overlay of ₹3.17 Lakhs. The 166 advancing hopefuls reconvened at 8 PM last night to play Day 2, and it took more than six hours to crown a champion. Powering his way through the reg-infested field was PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh ‘boomtlt23’ Pal Singh, who defeated the former IOPC Main Event champion Anurag ’13anurag’ Srivastava (runner-up for ₹5.65 Lakhs) heads-up to win a personal-best ₹8.25 Lakhs.

This happens to be Young Gun Singh’s career-best online score, surpassing his previous best ₹7.05 Lakhs that he won in Spartan Poker’s Sunday SuperStack in December 2019. His lifetime winnings have reached ₹3.94 Crores after this win, and he is now inches away from the ₹4 Crore-mark.

Runner-up Srivastava was also in sublime form last night. Besides finishing runner-up in this event, he placed third in PokerStars India’s Super Tuesday for ₹57,414, taking his total winnings for the day to ₹6.22 Lakhs. Before last night, he was ranked #8 on the annual leaderboard with ₹2.14 Crores in winnings. However, his aggressive form over the past few days should see him moving up.

The other featured tourney on PokerBaazi was the ₹30 Lakhs GTD PPL#30 Mini HighRoller. The ₹8,250 buy-in event accumulated a prize pool of ₹30.83 Lakhs on the back of a 411-entry field. Gurpal ‘roothless’ Singh ran past the competition, defeating the PPL#25 winner Bhanu ‘Chennaino1’ Prakash (runner-up for ₹4.53 Lakhs) heads-up, to win the ₹6.47 Lakhs cash prize that accompanied the title. This happens to be Singh’s personal-best score, and the victory has boosted his lifetime earnings to ₹60.57 Lakhs.

The third primetime tourney on the site, the ₹12 Lakhs GTD PPL#28 DST, attracted 437 entries, falling ₹1.08 Lakhs short of the guarantee. Sanjay ‘Dynamo’ Taneja took away the lion’s share of the prize pool worth ₹2.41 Lakhs, beating Jitendra ‘Jeet0’ Gadhwal (runner-up for ₹1.69 Lakhs) heads-up.

Gautam ‘m8a7’ Rohilla has been a trailblazer at the PPL so far and deserves special mention. He has already won an incredible four titles at the ongoing series, and two among them he shipped on Tuesday. He started the day by winning the PPL#26 SuperStack for ₹1.18 Lakhs before taking the PPL#32 PLO a few hours later for ₹1.08 Lakhs. He currently boasts of ₹66.77 Lakhs in lifetime winnings.

Harsh ‘harsh1327’ Bubna was the other prominent winner on the site and won the ₹5 Lakhs GTD PPL#27 Turbo for ₹1.29 Lakhs.

Adda52

Headlining the Tuesday action on Adda52 was the ₹2.5 Crores GTD AOPS Main Event. The ₹11,000 buy-in event played out the first of nine starting flights yesterday, attracting 161 challengers. By the time the play ended, only 14 survivors were standing with ‘jimmyadams’ carrying forward the most massive stack of 450,253. ‘mv141995’ (329,030) and Gagandeep ‘gaganhyd’ Singh (309,525) held the next top stacks.

The ₹20 Lakhs GTD Cowboys logged in 470 entries to post an overlay of ₹1.2 Lakhs. After firing three bullets, PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘glitch_d’ Arya decimated the competition to win ₹4.9 Lakhs – his second-best overall performance and his best score on the site. Arya has improved his online MTT record to ₹2.91 Crores. Madhab ‘madhabpal2015’ Pal finished runner-up for ₹2.9 Lakhs.

An anonymous user ‘thedreamer05’ came out on top of the 393-entry field in the ₹8 Lakhs GTD Hexagram to win ₹1.99 Lakhs. ‘saurabh21’ finished runner-up for ₹1.20 Lakhs.

PokerStars India

PokerStars India has been struggling with meeting its MTT guarantees, and the downward revisions seem to have spared the site losses. After several weeks, its Tuesday marquee, the ₹7 Lakhs GTD Sixth Sense, was finally able to break away from the overlay curse. The event mustered 242 entries, to successfully cross its advertised guarantee by ₹26,000. The top two finalists decided on a heads-up deal that saw PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘Mystic Peaks’ Singh take down the title for ₹1.19 Lakhs. The runner-up, Game Changer 1.0 champion Prashanth ‘nemesis9961’ Sekar settled for a ₹1.09 Lakhs payout.

Singh was on a roll last night as he also FT-ed PokerBaazi’s PPL#30 Mini HighRoller, finishing 5th for ₹1.62 Lakhs. These scores have taken him lifetime online record over the magical ₹4 Crore-mark.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Super Tuesday recorded 176 entries, falling ₹60,000 short of the break-even mark. Following a three-way deal, Pranav ‘pkpok13’ Khandalkar emerged victorious to win ₹1 Lakh (₹42,915 in prize money and ₹56,582 in bounties). ‘Hushpoke’ placed runner-up for ₹55,181 (₹43,052 in prize money and ₹12,129 in bounties), while Anurag ‘GutshotHaiBro’ Srivastava placed third for ₹57,414 (₹44,289 in prize money and ₹13,125 in bounties).
