Daily Majors: Mall, Lakhotia, Purohit & Pereira Dominate the Friday Headliners

Friday marks the start of the weekend with high-value tourneys across all domestic sites, and yesterday was no different. Here`s a quick recap of who won what across the major online platforms yesterday!

 

Spartan Poker

On Friday, the biggest draw on the site was the ₹30 Lakhs GTD The Elite, which clocked in a stacked field of 415 entries, each of them ponying up the ₹11,000 buy-in to accumulate a guarantee smashing ₹41.50 Lakhs prize pool. Taking top honors and the ₹8.32 Lakhs first-place cash prize was an anonymous player ‘Denzong’. Finishing one spot behind him was Manish ‘thekid’ Lakhotia, who banked ₹5.43 Lakhs for placing second.

The other Friday headliner, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD TGIF, did well to bring in a field of 707 entries who bought-in for ₹1,650 to generate ₹10.60 Lakhs in the prize pool. The heads-up took place between the anonymous user ‘Hmmmok’ and Sathish ‘Jaqkten’ Ananth, and the duo cut a deal. The former prevailed and won ₹1.71 Lakhs and the title while Ananth took home the runner-up prize money worth ₹1.62 Lakhs.

The UVS series is heading towards its finale, and last night we saw Day 1B of the UVS – The Millionaire Lite play out. The second starting flight logged in 511 entries (237 unique, 54 re-entries, and 220 rebuys), and only 43 survived. Carrying forward the most massive stack was ‘McFly’ (191,638) with ‘rangeela’ (185,651) a close second behind him.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD UVS Monster Stack crowned a champion in ‘stoic7’ who won ₹1.20 Lakhs in prize money after topping a field of 400 entries (including 213 unique entries, 67 re-entries, and 120 re-buys).

 

PokerBaazi

Making its weekly run was PokerBaazi’s marquee Friday tourney, The Ridge ₹10 Lakhs GTD. The tournament mustered 294 challengers (171 unique entries and 123 re-entries) to leave a shortfall of ₹1.18 Lakhs and the top 36 places finished ITM. MTT superstar Anant ‘Pro_Pro’ Purohit ran past the competition and beat Anmolraj ‘PINCIOTTI’ Singh Chawla heads-up to collect the title along with a cool ₹2.21 Lakhs in prize money. The latter pocketed ₹1.55 Lakhs for finishing runner-up.

 

Adda52

Adda52 seems to be the hub for tournament action, with its AOPS series getting the site a lot of traction. On Friday, the showstopper tourney was the ₹45 Lakhs GTD AOPS Blizzard that logged in 488 entries (262 unique entries and 226 re-entries) to collect a hefty ₹45 Lakhs prize pool. The final 49 finishers were paid, and taking home the most significant share from the prize pool was a mystery user ‘thepokerfaceblr’ who collected ₹11.02 Lakhs. Seasoned MTT pro Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall placed runner-up for ₹6.52 Lakhs while Young Gun Ujjwal ‘fourteenk’ Narwal also made it to the podium finishing third for ₹4.50 Lakhs.

On the tap on Friday was Day 1B and Day 1C of the ₹1.5 Crores GTD AOPS Mini Main Event. Day 1B attracted 104 unique and 32 re-entries, of which only 21 survived. Day 1C registered 163 unique challengers and 79 re-entries with 31 players advancing to Day 2. ‘nabeel742102’ (220,490) bagged the most massive stack on Day 1B while ‘runyrules’ (341,450) ended Day 1C in the chip lead.

The ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD AOPS Mini PLO registered 155 entries (88 unique and 67 re-entries), and the top 17 places got paid. Coming out on top was ‘grind121’ who pocketed ₹2.85 Lakhs after defeating online reg Srihari ‘zombieballs’ Bang (runner-up for ₹1.79 Lakhs) heads-up. Bang FT-ed an impressive three marquee tourneys last night – placing 9th in The Ridge for ₹22,100 and 7th in the UVS Monster Stack for ₹20,580 as well.

 

PokerStars India

The Friday showstopper on PokerStars India, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut, was taken down by long-time MTT reg Myron ‘khAAbib’ Pereira who walked away with the ₹1.75 Lakhs up-top prize money after defeating Somesh ‘JackNotMa’ Patel (runner-up for ₹1.14 Lakhs) in the heads-up play. A total of 265 entries (155 unique and 110 re-entries) collected ₹10.88 Lakhs in the prize pool that included a regular prize pool of ₹5.58 Lakhs and a bounty prize pool worth ₹5.30 Lakhs.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Friday Euphoria suffered a shortfall worth ₹12,500 after registering 195 entries (117 unique and 78 re-entries), and the top 35 places landed in the money zone. In the end, ‘2EZ4Sandy’ beat ‘riverrshiverr’ (2nd for ₹69,502) heads-up to win ₹94,294.

Three out of the seven starting flights of the AOPS Mini Main Event ₹1.5 Crores GTD are now in the books. Friday night saw Day 1B and 1C running almost concurrently. Day 1B gathered 136 entries (104 unique and 32 re-entries), while Day 1C logged in 242 participants (163 unique and 79 re-entries), taking the total number of entries in the tourney to 670.

Mystery user ‘nabeel742102’ grabbed the pole position among the 21 Day 1B survivors with a stack of 220,490. Gagandeep ‘gaganhyd’ Singh (220,088) and ‘Jinvinlove’ (151,291), advanced with the next top stacks.

There is one more flight still to play out – Day 1C that starts at 6 PM on June 13.

This New-Delhi based poker pro has been another top winner this week and has accrued ₹16.36 Lakhs in profits in the last seven days. The ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD AOPS Mini PLO, unlike the Friday headliner AOPS Blizzard was able to avoid a loss. Clocking in 155 entrants, the tourney comfortably crossed its advertised guarantee, generating a massive ₹10.57 Lakhs in the prize pool.

It was a hard-fought battle for the title that ensued between ‘grind121’ and MTT crusher Srihari ‘zombieballs’ Bang, but in the end, it was the former who took down the event for a ₹2.85 Lakhs payday. Bang, who has been in the top three of the annual cashes rankings since May 30, pocketed ₹1.79 Lakhs for his second-place finish. He presently has ₹1.71 Crores in yearly winnings.
