After a relatively slow start to the week, the online action picked up the pace on Wednesday with Spartan Poker’s Grand Poker Series (GPS), setting up the stage for a grand weekend finale. The next few days should see the action further intensifying as we have the Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) starting today and PokerBaazi`s PPL commencing on August 7. Here is a quick recap of the Wednesday flagships.

Spartan Poker

Setting the virtual felts ablaze on Day 3 of the GPS was the ₹35 Lakhs GTD GPS #13 Destiny. Logging in 792 entries, the ₹5,500 buy-in event booked a profitable run, collecting ₹39.60 Lakhs in the prize pool. Racing past the reg-infested field was Adhirath ‘AdhirathSingh’ Singh, who walked away with the title and his best-recorded score on the site worth ₹9.9 Lakhs. Singh defeated ‘Shefking’ in the heads-up, and the latter took home ₹5.94 Lakhs. This happens to be Singh’s only recorded title on the site.

The new multi-flight ₹10 Lakhs GTD Velocity ran its second starting flight on Wednesday. Day 1B added 384 entries to the existing 479 entries from Day 1A, taking the total count to 863 entries. By the time the scheduled levels of play were over, the field had dwindled down to 33 players. Counting the advancing players from Day 1A, 71 players have already advanced to Day 2 scheduled to play out on Saturday. Bagging the most massive stack on Day 1B was ‘KidChaos24’ (167,377). Roshan ‘roshanthefish’ Gurbuxani(165,392) and Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall (148,604) bagged the next two top stacks. The Day 1A chip leader ‘Robin Van Charsi’ continues to retain the overall chip lead after two starting flights with their stack of 229,927. There are two more starting flights yet to play out.

The other featured tourney of the day was the ₹4.5 Lakhs GTD GPS #14 Mega Freeze that registered 152 entries. The top 20 players took a bite out of the ₹4.56 Lakhs prize pool. An unknown player ‘vishmonker01’ defeated ‘Paperboi’ heads-up to win the title and ₹1.09 Lakh in prize money. The runner-up collected ₹74,328.

He had won PokerStars India’s Sixth Sense on Tuesday for ₹1.04 Lakhs.

Srivastava made two other deep runs but missed out on the title on both occasions. He placed third in PokerStars India’s Big Bubble Rush for ₹37,208 and took eighth place in PokerBaazi’s The Pride for ₹29,500. Srivastava had taken an early lead on the annual leaderboard after winning the IOPC Main Event on Spartan Poker.
