Let’s take a look at the Tuesday highlights.
Spartan Poker`s Tuesday flagship, the Mega Stack – Millionaire Bubble, offered a ₹17 Lakhs prize pool guarantee, down ₹3 Lakhs from last week. The event attracted 607 participants (including re-entries), an almost 10% dip in attendance since its previous run. Still, it surpassed the advertised guarantee. The top-ranked player of the year, Manish ‘thekid’ Lakhotia, scored a thumping victory in the event, netting ₹3.53 Lakhs for the win. The former The Big Deal winner Rajeev ‘AthenaVolt’ Kumar placed runner-up for ₹2.24 Lakhs.

The former Money Heist champion Vishal ‘Darky012’ Ojha overcame the 456-entry field to win ₹1.21 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘deranzzdd’ Arya (2nd for ₹1.12 Lakhs). Day 10 of the National Poker Series (NPS) turned on the heat on several levels with three ₹1 Crore+ GTD events playing out starting flights. The series awarded three Gold Medals throughout the day as well.
The centerpiece of the series, the ₹3 Crore GTD NPS Main Event, played out its second starting flight last evening. Flight 1B had 623 challengers signing up for ₹5,500, and only 71 players made it through to the Day 2 Finale (June 27). Arjunn ‘MaalChaHee’ Agrawal (391,000), ‘OneMoreShot’ (339,000) and ‘Leokarma2609’ (301,000) bagged the top stacks of the day. Adding the 534 entries from Flight 1A, the Main Event has logged in 1,257 entries and needs to fill another 4,743 entries from the remaining five flights to meet the guarantee.
The most-talked-about event at the series, the ₹1 Crore GTD NPS Golden Rush, ran its 10th starting flight on Tuesday. Starting at 5.30 PM, the action went on till 10.25 PM with a starting field of 848 entries whittling down to 90 survivors. Samay Singh ‘Sammybigstac’ Modi (339,000), ‘molik06’ (325,000), and ‘divid92’ (308,000) were the only players carrying forward 300K+ stacks. The event needs a total turnout of 20,000 entries to break even, and it will need to pick up the pace as 12,416 entries have been recorded after 10 flights – and there are only five flights to go.
The ₹1 Crore GTD NPS Highroller hosted Flight 1A last night. The steep ₹16,500 entry buy-in was not a deterrent for players as 367 participants bought in for a shot at the NPS medals, but only 40 survived through to Day 2. Kunal ‘VasooliChacha’ Patni (507,000), Young Gun Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood (385,000), and Prateek ‘whybeaking’ Kurkanji (375,000) bagged the top three stacks of the day. The 7 PM event got in the books at 3:48 AM, with Deep ‘ChristopherCoke’ Patel winning his first NPS Gold Medal and a ₹2.53 Lakhs paycheque.
