It was an action-packed Thursday, and the good news is that there’s much more to look forward to these next ten days, with Spartan Poker’s ₹12 Crore GTD FTS 3.0 taking flight at 4 PM. The 30-event series runs right until September 19, pushing the ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire into a two-week hiatus.

It was almost déjà vu as the NPS Main Event champion Mohammad Azhar once again topped Spartan Poker’s The Big Deal, winning the high roller title for a second consecutive week for ₹7.80 Lakhs. At the same time, last Thursday’s The Summit champion, Young Gun Sahil Chutani, placed runner-up for ₹5.27 Lakhs.

Vijendra Kumar Sharma won Adda52’s Godfather for the second time this year, netting a site-best ₹6.12 Lakhs. PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek Singh placed runner-up.

Kunal Patni championed PokerBaazi’s The Summit for an incredible fourth time yesterday (second time this year) for ₹3.92 Lakhs, moving up to #4 in the annual leaderboard. The ranked #1 player in the country, Young Gun Gaurav Sood, placed runner-up.

The former Destiny winner M Balakrishnan took down Spartan Poker’s Trending Thursday for ₹3.46 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with Vishnu Khandelwal.

The former The Millionaire & Hercules champion, Rishab Malik, added a second PokerStars India Highroller title to his tally and ₹2.52 Lakhs in prize money.

Juli Kumari, Hemant Meena, R J Prakash, Faiz Alam, Harsh Dembla, Neeraj Kumar, Md Zeeshan, Murali Mohan, Tanay Parekh, Sarthak Sharma, Anand Babu Pallikona, and Sreeharsha Boneni won the other marquee events.

Here are the Thursday highlights!

Spartan Poker

It’s finally here! One of the most-awaited online MTT stops of the year, the Final Table Series kicks off its third edition at 4 PM today. Players have already braced themselves for ten days of non-stop poker action with 30 marques events and a jaw-dropping ₹12 Crores in cash prizes guaranteed. Because of the FTS, the site’s weekend flagship, The Millionaire, goes on a hiatus for two weeks.

Even with no The Millionaire running, there were two Thursday flagships for players to dive into. The biggest draw was the Big Deal that offered players a slice of high-roller action, guaranteeing ₹30 Lakhs at the entry price of ₹22,000. Yesterday, the event witnessed a turnout of 155 players – four entries more than last week. And guess what? Last week’s champion Mohammad ‘Cupid stunt’ Azhar found his way to the top once again, winning the title for a second consecutive week for ₹7.80 Lakhs. Last Thursday’s The Summit champion, Young Gun Sahil ‘$lim$hady19’ Chutani, finished runner-up for ₹5.27 Lakhs.
