Tuesdays are typically a bit slow on the virtual poker felts, but this week was an exception. The prestigious ₹60 Crore GTD Indian Poker Masters on PokerBaazi and the ₹12+ Crore GTD Azadi Series on Junglee Poker fueled the excitement, with players vying for massive prize pools and coveted titles.
The domestic online poker scene was electric with thrilling action and impressive scores. Meanwhile, the Indian athletes at the ongoing Summer Olympics brought mixed emotions. Vinesh Phogat made history as the first Indian woman to reach the final of a wrestling event at the Olympics, only to be disqualified for being 100 grams over the weight limit. The Indian Olympic Association has appealed the decision. In other news, Antim Panghal, after losing her bout in the women’s 53kg, still has a chance for bronze through the repechage round, and the women’s table tennis team faced an exit after a tough match against Germany. On a brighter note, golfer Aditi Ashok started strong in Round 1 of Women’s Individual Stroke Play.
In the heart of the action, Mukesh Surana, a celebrated poker pro known for The MoneyMaker 17.0 win, made a triumphant return to the winner’s circle. After a four-week hiatus, Surana dominated PokerBaazi’s ₹60 Lakhs GTD IPM#18 Big Megastack, seizing a career-second India Poker Masters title and Tuesday’s only IPM trophy, alongside a whopping ₹9.95 Lakhs top prize. This monumental win also boosted him into the top 100 of the ₹1 Crore IPM series leaderboard.

He finished as the runner-up in the intense IPM#18 Big Megastack, securing a handsome ₹6.63 Lakhs prize and wrapping up his Tuesday run with a ₹6.87 Lakhs haul from five cash finishes. Aditya Singh, fresh off a Sunday Supreme runner-up finish, took third place with ₹4.89 Lakhs, boosting his total daily earnings to ₹5.78 Lakhs across four tournaments, including a title win at Spartan Poker’s Supreme.
Abhishek Goindi, PokerBaazi Team Pro and founder of Poker Boot Camp India, seems to have a golden touch lately. Fresh from an impressive 2024 WSOP run and live title wins, Goindi was back in the limelight, clinching his first IPM title in PokerBaazi’s IPM#17 (7-Max) MonsterStack. His reward? A cool ₹5.72 Lakhs, marking his fifth-largest score on PokerBaazi and pushing his Tuesday winnings to ₹5.83 Lakhs. Suraj Singh finished as the runner-up, walking away with ₹3.43 Lakhs.
