There was a significant uptick in action on Thursday, with Spartan Poker`s IOPC 2021 Jan Edition taking the virtual felts by storm. For the third consecutive day, PokerGuru Ambassadors featured among the top winners of the day, with no less than three of them, namely, Parikshit Dhall, Devvrat Arya, and Kartik Ved shipping flagship tourneys. Nadeem Basha and Ashish Ahuja were others seen posting top finishes, making it a field day for PokerGuru Staking!
Sanat Mehrotra and Young Gun Anmol Mehta rounded out the flagship winners of the day.
This is just the start of the busy season for poker players. Starting today is the first-ever APT 2021 Online Series India on PokerBaazi with PokerStars India`s Winter Series due to commence on Sunday.

Spartan Poker`s iconic IOPC has returned, and the 10th edition is the most massive ever in the stop`s history!
The opening day was marked by seven tourneys, and the star attraction was the ₹35 Lakhs GTD IOPC #5 Ultron. The ₹4,400 entry buy-in event registered 845 entries, overlaying ₹1.20 Lakhs. PokerGuru Ambassador Parikshit ‘zapdos1311’ Dhall championed the tourney to win ₹5.76 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with Rajat ‘raso009’ Sood (runner-up for ₹5.16 Lakhs).
Dhall, who finished runner-up in PokerStars India’s PKO on Sunday, FT-ed another two IOPC events last night, picking up ₹7.63 Lakhs for the day`s work. He currently sits on ₹2.36 Crores in recorded earnings.

The other featured tourney, the ₹16.5 Lakhs GTD IOPC #6, commenced at 9.30 PM. A starting field of 638 entries helped record a hefty ₹19.14 Lakhs in the prize pool. It was well past 5 AM by the time the tourney culminated, handing out the title to PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘deranzzdd’ Arya, who won ₹3.70 Lakhs after vanquishing Bharat ‘dorasingh’ Vasan (runner-up for ₹2.33 Lakhs) in heads-up play.
Arya, fresh off winning the ₹25 Lakhs GTD Destiny on Wednesday, notched up several other deep runs last night, working up ₹4.79 Lakhs in total earnings. The Thursday night run helped improve his online record to ₹4.47 Crores.

Online reg Anirban D ‘pokernoob’ Das was another mover and shaker on Thursday. In addition to placing fourth in IOPC #6 for ₹1.33 Lakhs, Das took fifth-place in PokerStars India ₹10 Lakhs GTD Highroller for ₹47,091, adding ₹1.80 Lakhs to his bankroll.
It was a strong opening for IOPC that started at 12 PM on Thursday. The opening event, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD IOPC #1 Monster Stack, registered a whooping 2,453 entries. And getting his hands at the first IOPC title at the series was Shrvan ‘SSAScorpion’ Amlekar, who worked his way past the competition to win ₹1.87 Lakhs. Himanshu ‘Howdodoo’ Bisht came in second for ₹1.59 Lakhs, courtesy of a heads-up deal.
This happens to be Amlekar’s best-recorded finish on the site. Along with the prize money, he became the first player to book a seat at the Master’s Table that will take place on February 3 on Spartan Poker. The champion will win an Avenger Chronograph 43 Breitling customized watch. Amlekar also ran deep in Adda52’s Nighttide DST Adda, placing fourth for ₹13,878,
Tarush ‘Tarush123’ Gupta was another serial winner as he took down the ₹4.25 Lakhs GTD IOPC #4 for ₹1.10 Lakhs while placing seventh in the ₹16.50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #6 for ₹61,439.
Anish ‘downswing4ver’ Arora (IOPC #7 ₹8.75 Lakhs GTD for ₹2.18 Lakhs), Rudramani ‘rud1478’ Pokhrel (IOPC #2 ₹8 Lakhs GTD for ₹2.15 Lakhs) and Amarjeet ‘superchor89’ Singh (₹IOPC #3 Monster Stack ₹6.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.55 Lakhs) won the other IOPC tourneys on Thursday.

PokerStars India’s Thursday night extravaganza, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Highroller, registered 157 entries – enough to collect a guarantee-smashing ₹10.99 Lakhs prize pool. Young Gun Anmol ‘Kaanchacheena’ Mehta shipping his second flagship title in under a week, came out on top to win ₹2.45 Lakhs (₹1.11 Lakhs in prize money, ₹1.34 Lakhs in bounties). The mystery user ‘flipper595’ finished runner-up for ₹1.56 Lakhs.
On Sunday, Anmol Mehta had taken down the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Sunday Special PKO for ₹3.20 Lakhs.
PokerGuru Staking’s Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja finished third in the Highroller for ₹88,267 (₹61,798 in prize money ₹26,469 in bounties).
The Highroller runner-up, ‘flipper595,’ was among the top contenders in the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale as well. Starting precisely 90 minutes after the Highroller, the event registered 186 entries, overlaying ₹35,000. A player with the online moniker ‘raghav1990’ eventually championed the tourney to win ₹1.16 Lakhs (₹53,174 in prize money and ₹63,057 in bounties) with ‘flipper595’ placing runner-up again, this time for ₹52,167. It took just under nine hours of play for MTT reg Sanat ‘mehro2511’ Mehrotra to navigate his way to the top and win ₹6.12 Lakhs. PokerGuru Ambassador Nadeem ‘Nadeem0021’ Basha finished runner-up for ₹3.62 Lakhs, boosting his MTT scorecard to ₹3.39 Crores.
