Mondays are usually not as action-packed compared to Sundays. However, with Spartan Poker’s Grand Poker Series (GPS) and PokerStars India’s India Championship of Online Poker (INCOOP) currently underway, the action was slightly amped up.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at what went down yesterday.
Spartan Poker
With the second edition of the GPS now past the mid-way mark, the opening flight of the ₹50 Lakhs GTD Battlefield played out last night. The ₹2,750 buy-in tourney gathered 390 entries, and after the stipulated 28 levels of play, only 46 players made it through to Day 2. ‘Sunita W 2’ emerged as the end-of-Day 1A chip leader with a stack of 468,494. Vivek ‘acchemicals’ Karwa (363,666) and ‘nutskibhookh’ (354,519) rounded out the top three stacks. Day 1B starts at 6 PM today.
The other Monday headliner was the ₹14 Lakhs GTD Grand ReCharge that suffered an overlay of ₹1.56 Lakhs after registering 622 entrants. Mystery user ‘NUTPEDDLER’ locked horns with PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘KasolHieghts’ Singh and ultimately took down the event for ₹2.69 Lakhs. Singh took home ₹1.70 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. The champion presently has ₹7.12 Lakhs in recorded winnings on Spartan Poker, with a profit of ₹45,990. Meanwhile, Singh’s lifetime tally has reached ₹5.36 Crores.
The other marquee event on Spartan Poker, the ₹6.50 Lakhs GTD Flash, logged in 631 entries and experienced an overlay of ₹19,000. Sethuram ‘Setherson8’ Kannan championed the tourney to win ₹1.25 Lakhs.
PokerBaazi
PokerBaazi’s ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Bout just about managed to make it past the listed guarantee and posted a prize pool worth ₹10.05 Lakhs on the back of 402 entries. Harrish ‘Realfc’ Chaudary trailblazed to the top of the field and banked a winner’s paycheque of ₹2.11 Lakhs, just as ‘MissVizag’ came in second for ₹1.48 Lakhs. With this win, Chaudary has accumulated ₹31.47 Lakhs in recorded winnings on PokerBaazi.
The ₹2 Lakhs GTD Monday MegaStack witnessed an overlay of ₹74,000, after logging in 84 entries. ‘Sahib2207’ shipped the event for ₹60,000.
Adda52
The ₹10 Lakhs GTD Inception, Adda52’s Monday mega event, pulled in 323 participants and cruised past its advertised guarantee to collect a ₹10.33 Lakhs prize pool. Pawan ‘_luffy_1x1’ Tez raced ahead of the competition, defeating PokerGuru Ambassador Shashank ‘IndianRat’ Desai (runner-up for ₹1.56 Lakhs) heads-up to claim the title and top prize of ₹2.58 Lakhs.
‘maheshg1811’ (Afternoon Adda ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹56,070) and ‘bigdaddy1’ (Quad KO 4-Max ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹54,000) were the other prominent winners on Adda52 on Monday.
PokerStars India
The Monday bonanza tournament on PokerStars India, the ₹15 Lakhs GTD INCOOP-48 Battle Royale, clocked in 230 entries, and the site had to fill in a deficit of ₹3.50 Lakhs. Amit ‘the_ziro’ J shipped the tourney to win ₹2.48 Lakhs, following a three-way deal with ‘max2172’ (runner-up for ₹1.92 Lakhs), and ‘theoldestkid’ (3rd for ₹1.02 Lakhs).
The other primetime tourney, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD INCOOP-50 Uppercut Mini, also failed to reach its break-even mark. Registering 199 entries, the event fell one entry short of the 200 player guarantee. Abhijeet ‘sexylady7766’ Kumar was crowned the winner for ₹80,027. A three-way deal saw Amit ‘Stu Ungar 7694’ Kaushik (runner-up for ₹64,269) and Akshay ‘VaahBhaiVaah’ Gupta (3rd for ₹43,304), also secure podium finishes.

The first starting flight of the ₹50 Lakhs GTD Battlefield on Spartan Poker attracted 390 runners, and after the stipulated 28 levels of play, only 46 players advanced to Day 2. In all, the event features four starting flights and needs 2,000 entries to break even.
After the end of Day 1A, a mystery player ‘Sunita W 2’ bagged the most massive stack of 468,494 chips. Vivek ‘acchemicals’ Karwa (363,666) and ‘nutskibhookh’ (354,519) rounded out the top three stacks.

Adda52`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Inception pulled in 323 entries to create a prize pool of₹10.33 Lakhs.
It took six hours and twenty-five minutes for the field to whittle down to a heads-up between Pawan ‘_luffy_1x1’ Tez and PokerGuru Ambassador Shashank ‘IndianRat’ Desai. Eventually, Tez clinched the title for the second time in three weeks and won ₹2.58 Lakhs.
Desai added 1.57 Lakhs to his tally, improving his online record to ₹1.97 Crores, and is whiskers away from entering the ₹2 Crore-club.
Pranav ‘pkpok’ Khandalkar bubbled the final table in 7th place for ₹31,008.

The other featured tournament on PokerStars India was the ₹5 Lakhs GTD INCOOP-50 Uppercut. The event began at 9.30 PM, and with 199 entries signing up, it fell just one entry or ₹2,500 short of its guarantee.
It took little more than six hours to crown a champion.The last three players agreed upon a deal that saw Abhijeet ‘sexylady7766’ Kumar capture the title for ₹80,027. The win brings Kumar’s tally of online winnings to almost ₹59 Lakhs.
Runner-up Amit ‘Stu Ungar 7694’ Kaushik pocketed ₹64,269, with Akshay ‘VaahBhaiVaah’ Gupta placing third for ₹43,304.
